This is an in character game for camp. It will be run RP style and a winner or two will be rolled everyday until Saturday 6/25/11. OOC prizes will be given out, consisting of headshot or chibi's from Kaori_luv and Guine.

Lily stood around the campfire with a large grin on her face. She was excited for tonight as it would be the start of the campfire song contest. For the first three night it had just been regular campfires, but just the night before she, Chris and Castille had announced the contest that the campers had to the end of the week to enter for a chance to win a prize, a bunch of 25 dollar gift card to random stores, that Lily bought herself just for the contest.

She looked to Chris with a grin, while the little group set up for the night. It was obvious she was excited for the rest of the event. To hear the campers song and maybe even do one herself. She was practically radiating excitement. Not only that she was less tired today then she had been, so she could pay more attention and interact more with the camper.

"I cannot wait to start tonight guys. Do you think the campers have come up with anything funny or just plain clever? I can't wait to hear everyone, even if by the end of the night my ears are ringing," she said carrying a last piece of wood for the fire.

"Did you two come up with a song," she asked curiously.

Chris was sitting on one of the logs that had been set up around the fire, plucking at a few of the strings on his guitar as he made sure everything was in tune. He was glad that Lily was excited, and he was excited too, in a way. He wasn't going to be doing more than providing the instrumental accompaniment, and maybe lead a few verses of some songs if no one else wanted, but that was about it.

He laughed as Lily all but danced around in her excitement, before glancing around to see if any of the campers were making their way over yet. "Me? No way. I'm not very good with coming up with camp songs on my own," he admitted with a sheepish smile. "I know a lot, but I doubt I would do any justice to the originals." He was more of a hands on person, anyway. He was fine with playing music, but writing it? That was a different story.

That didn't mean the campers wouldn't be able to come up with something awesome. If all else failed, he would just pull out the songs he knew and would have the campers make up words as they go.

Castille was excited for night to fall. When she had told the campers about the Song contest, they all seemed very excited to participate. She had even seen a couple sitting out in various places around camp with pen and paper in hand. Hopefully there would be a good turnout.

As she arrived by the fire pit, she saw Lily and Chris were already there. She waved and came up, saying "Hey! Oh man this is exciting! I hope lots of kids come show us their songs!"

"I didn't come up with one." She said, looking down at the ground, "Singings...not really my thing." Actually Castille loved to sing.

Just not in front of other people.

Lily grinned, "I came up with a little something, but I'm not sharing tonight. I want to hear some of the other's song first. Its for the campers anyway right," she said to the two her eyes still shining with excitement. It was very nice to not have to patrol for two whole weeks and her shoulder was most likely fully healed now, as she was not fight for her life every night and very sloppy too, so she did not get sick.

Lily turned fully to the two with a grin, "You know you two ought to sing too. No one will mind whether your great or not." Lily was lying of course. She would mind, she always minded, but she was not about to ruin her friends good time. This was fun and Lily was gonna grin and bare it. Since she picked up karaoke she was getting better at grinning and baring it.

Diana Lunam slowly entered the light of the campfire. She had avoided the other campfires but the contest sounded intriguing to the twelve year old. She wasn't sure if she was going to enter or not, more likely not, but it would still be amusing to listen to all the other songs. Apparently she was one of the first campers to show up other then Lily, Chris, and Castille who were councilors.

Remaining silent she nodded shyly to the older kids before finding a seat a slight distance away. Her pale blond hair darkened in the golden firelight, complementing her suntanned skin. Diana knew she was strange in both looks and actions, which is why she normally remained aloof, or tried to. But she did promise her parents that she would try to make some friends. As she watched the councilors a thought suddenly popped into her head, I wonder if one of them would be willing to 'supervise' an archery contest. The young girl had been itching to practice but so far has only been told that she may do so with supervision... something about how its not safe for a young girl to use a bow and arrow without an adult around. As if she has ever accidentally hurt anyone before.

One of the most enjoyable parts of the day were those couple of hours spent by the campfire, or so Paris thought. After a long morning and afternoon of countless activities and supervising increasingly tired and moody children, relaxing by the warmth of the fire to the sound of music and the smell of roasting marshmallows was as perfect an end to an active day as they could get out here.

He approached and took his usual seat on the log next to Chris, heaving a sigh and looking around to make sure no one got too close to the fire. The last thing they needed was for someone to burn themselves, though things seemed pretty subdued so far.

He didn't know if he would be singing tonight. He did usually, but he was quickly running out of appropriate kid songs he hadn't already sung before, and if he tried to make one up himself he was afraid it would either turn out sounding angry and frustrated, or sad and depressing. His experiences so far had been little more than that. If no one else had anything to offer, however, he supposed he could give it a try, he just couldn't promise it would be all that fantastic.

"Who wants to sing first?" he prodded, wondering if the campers' exhaustion had anything to do with their more low-key mood.

Ainsley loved to sing so the child would have come whether there was a prize available or not. She just wanted to sing, and have fun doing so. She didn't like the idea of sitting on a log very much though so the child had brought a small blanket with her, enough to cover a spot for her to sit as well as keep her warm and safe from bug bites. She'd also brought her companion, Octavian Oswald, who she insisted must also sing along while he took safety in her arms.

She looked around for Sam, eager to suggest he sing as well, but she couldn't find him yet. She wondered if he was here, or if he would come. She hoped so, the thought of him coming down to the campfire bringing a nice warmth to her chest that not even the campfire provided. Perhaps one of her other friends may also be attending? Perhaps if she sung a song he'd come out of hiding? Immediately she raised her hand when Paris mentioned it.

"I want to sing!"

"Maybe after a couple of the kids sing, I'll try." She said doubtfully. The thought of singing in front of everyone around the fire made her nerves tingle. She agreed that this was for the kids, and didn't mind staying out of the spotlight. Or firelight, as it were.

Castille watched as others starting showing up, and her excitement increased. Hopefully a couple of these guys would want to sing.
"Welcome guys!" She said loudly, waving as Diana Paris and Ainsley appeared around the fire.

Lily grinned as other's joined the campfire, waving to Paris and giving him a huge smile as he sat next to Chris. Yes, she was still brimming with excitement, as she had been all day, even though she and everyone else was tired.

She nodded to Castille, she thought she seemed a bit nervous, "I'm sure you sing just find. You know everyone can even teach each other their songs. That way next year at camp we can still sing them." It would help that Lily had a great memory for such things.

She turned with two young blonde girl approached one just giving a nod, the other apparently really wanting to sing. Lily thought them both adorable and smile and gave a wave.

"You like to sing huh," she asked Ainsley with a smile, "you can start of us off if you like. Did you come up with a song for us tonight?"

She gave a look to Chris, even though she was sure he'd be right as rain to strum for Ainsley.

Was she talking to her? The child's hands raised, palms flat as her fingers pointed inward to herself. "Me?" She questioned, looking at the counselor curiously.

She could sing a song, and first? The excitement certainly boiled inside of her as she thought about it. She hadn't really picked out a song and the entire soundtrack of Tangled began to pass through the child's head. When Will My Life Begin? Mother Knows Best? Oh, that song would be ironic to sing at camp. What about I've Got a Dream, or I See the Light? A variety of other Disney songs also passed the spectrum as she thought about it.

"Any song?" She didn't know if there was a list of songs they had to sing or something else that might stop her.

Lily nodded with a smile when Ainsley asked if she was talking to her. She watched with amusement as the child seemed to stop and think for a second and Lily wondered if it was bad to put her on the spot when the little one asked her a question.

Lily gave a half nod, "yup anything, but unless you made it up yourself it won't count towards the little contest. So tell us, little lady, what would you like to sing tonight?"

She continued to smile at Ainsley her attention on the girl as she waited to see what the little one would sing.

Chris smiled at Paris when she came to sit next to him, making sure she had enough room, as well as have enough room for his guitar without hitting her with it. "Are you going to sing?" he asked her, amused by everyone maybe coming up with a song. Well, at least the little girl, Ainsley, seemed to want to participate. Anyone participating was good, although he could understand that it might be a little intimidating. But even a half-hearted try would be good?

—————————

Peter made his way up to the camp fire figuring he might as well since there really wasn't much else for him to do at the time, taking a seat next to Ainsley, even though they'd never spoken to each other. At least he didn't recall talking to her. She might have said something to him but he didn't know if he would have been trying to get his phone to work or not. Either way, he knew she went to the same school he did, so... yeah.

"Like this?" he chirped when the red-headed counselor told them 'any song'.

"On top of the city,
All covered in smoke,
There was a giant monster,
.... and everything broke."

"Peter," was the response the ten-year-old got from his spoil-sport older brother. He rolled his eyes in return. "What? She said any song."

Paris smiled back at Lily before glancing up at Chris, making sure he didn’t get in the way while he tried to play. “Me? I haven’t come up with a song, but I might give it a try. I’ll let some of the kids go first, unless they have trouble. Then I guess I can help them along.”

He paused to look over at Peter when he came over and interrupted the little girl. “Usually you’re supposed to wait your turn but, yes, Peter, just like that,” he said, before looking beside the boy to Ainsley. “You can either do what Peter did, or you can sing a different song you know. Whatever you want. Or whatever you feel more comfortable doing.”

Lily hadn't expected the interruption from Peter, but really it had been helpful. It was quick clever and well Lily though it was adorable. She grinned at him and gave him a wink despite his scoldings. "Yes, just like that. That was clever," she said sweetly before looking back to Ainsley.

"Paris is right," she said soflty, "no pressure, we here to have fun right." Lily was still obviously rather excited and she hoped said excitement wasn't to much for everyone, but it wasn't often you could just throw together a contest.

She looked to Diana and gave the girl a smile. Wondering if maybe the girl would like to go after Ainsley. The a thought flew threw her head and she blinked realizing what she had done.

"I'm so silly," she said quickly, "I forgot the marshmellows and stuff for smore. I'll be right back okay." With that she ran off to get the stuff she had forgotten.
