((Forgive me the punny title!))
"That was a pretty short meeting huh.." Bul uttered to the remaining audience of the last Fitness Club meeting. It was sauna time and he was definitely feeling it. Thankfully Demi was still there and the half beast gave him an insistent look as not to get in trouble with Riley later for sauna-ing without a partner... not that he wouldn't try it anyway.
More than ever though Bul needed a moment to take a breather. He had been cleaning, shopping, and playing around on the side. It didn't seem like it was enough and it always felt like something else was needed to be done. Until now he was sure he was ready for the prom too but the most important thing to consider teased him by flickering in and out of memory.
Wrapping a towel around his waist, Bul stepped into the sauna room. He sat and leaned back comfortably before suddenly groaning. "Fuuuuck... every ******** time I think I'm gonna rest...."

Demi was already feeling sore from the workout he had today, the sauna was the one salvation from all the training classes drama and most off all the recent dilemmas, PROM. He couldn't suppress the shudder that rattled down his tail at the thought of wearing those clothes and the dancing, working up a sweat and washing it all away seemed like a much better time for the hellhound.
But the Sauna, sweet Jack that just made everything better, he'd gladly use the buddy system in here if it meant to relish in its hazy depths. "Crap I thought it was never going to end." he moaned out slowly, rotating his shoulders till there was a resounding pop and a audible sigh escaped as he sunk into a spot next to the half beast. "Tell me about it man, its all class, chaos, school events, repeat till you blow." he groaned out as he added a cupful of water to the warm rocks, watching fresh set of steam billow out to greet the tired duo.
"So, what you got on your plate to worry about Bul?" He inquired to the boil before adjusting the towel on his hips before the tie dug into his skin further, it was not helping him relax one bit, pretty counter productive.

"I know, I know. And ******** like.. Gym's tough and classes are all just tough it's gonna be so nice to take a break after finals," Bul let out an angry sigh and rubbed his forehead of the reddish FEAR sweat that was building up. It was good to let some of it out.
"But my biggest worry right now-" he looked up at the hellhound and pointed. "You're looking at a Prom attendee with no suit. Already got my tickets got my date and got my tie... I ain't got a ******** suit. I've just been overwhelmed. When I went to the maul the other day I really didn't know what to look for and I don't know what I'm gonna look best in and-"
His rambling continued until he swatted his tail against the floor like a punch to a wall. "It's not easy to be er... organized. I dunno how geeks do it."

And then he said it, the one word Damien really didn't want to hear, Prom. Not even the relaxing sauna could stop the tension rising up in his chest and he let out a howl of irritation to go with the thump of Bul's tail on the floor. <********' hell don't even say that s**t." he snarled out as the more angry personality emerged out from the depths of the hellhounds mind. "Prom, what a load of s**t, suits and tie and decorum, f that, but if you wanna go through with the crap, i can help ya find what ya need." he offered to the beast. All the years of his grandfathers grooming and ranting about being a gentleman was at least useful for something. He knew how to dress the part.
even if he found the damn thing itchy and uncomfortable. "And it ain't the geeks that know how to do it, just tha' bunch a' stiffs." he said in retort to Bul's comment, he'd be damned if the boil was going to call him a geek by comparison. Bringing the point home to Bul with the flick of the towel on his shoulder to the front of the red sweaty boil's face.

Demi's remark was presented with a glower of unpleasant proportions. "It's a load of s**t? You think all that effort I've put into getting ready is a load of s**t?" If there wasn't steam coming out of the rocks it would be pouring from Bul's nose- then things subsided. "I dunno about you, bud, but Prom isn't just some dance you have it's all about presence and like it or not it's just how the top dogs stay on top... you know in a very round about way. It would be like turning down exams its like.. tradition."
Bul was really speaking nonsense especially given he'd never been to prom but it did mean something to him. To him not cleaning up and going to prom was a symbol to his ghoulfriend, friends, and the school as a whole that he lacked spirit. Unfortunately bruteball hadn't started prior so it was of utmost importance that his body be there, even if it would glow some.
Speaking of which, upon contact with the towel and coincidentally timed the half beast started to glow along his stripes. "Aw ******** man..." he sighed. "I think the stress is making it do this."
Now looking to Demi with genuine concern and a certain air of trust, Bul leaned back on his palms. "If you really wanna help me then by all means do. I'd really appreciate it."

Tradition. If there was ever a phrase he wanted to physically spat on, it was that. And grind its existence into the dirt. "Tradition? Jack, you sound like the clan elder, he preached about tradition till my ears all but almost fell out." he barked back quickly, but with less heat than before, it wasn't his grandfather he was talking to but Bul, and he didn't do anything wrong to the hound to merit such treatment. The hounds was visually deflated as he gave up the anger in a huff and went back to his tirade.
"Prom to me is nothing more than the various meetings and balls that my clan had to attend, and I had no choice but to play a role in it, Presence of the next in line leader always had to look his best." he all but grounded out in a sarcastic tone to the steam that billowed away from him and his anger. "If I had it my way, I'd hide out from this big to do." he said simply to close off his rant, no means no, ban on top hats.
The pitiful glow of the half beast did wake him up from his own musings that right now Bul needed the help, he wanted to go to Prom at his best, not himself. "I'll help you man, its no prob, thankfully you don't have to worry bout being marked or nuthin'." he shrugged while poking at the strange glow of the boil's shoulder. He dare not ask what it was like, even if he waned to.
"Thankfully you got someone who can help you with formal stuff, we can go see whats Suit a Bul right after a shower, get it done fast and easy, right?" he offered a hand to the boil to show he was being genuine with his offer, no strings allowed.
Unless he forced the dog to go to prom as his houndman, then he could wear a bright pink frilly tux for all he cared.

"That's your problem though," Bul teased, though held up a hand with guilty remorse before continuing on his serious plea. "Not to mention it sounds like it wasn't the same kind of thing as prom. You gotta do formal stuff for just a fraction of the night but you still gotta look slick when all the after-parties start."
It almost bummed the half beast out even more to know Demi was so adamantly against going to prom. Still the hellhound wouldn't be convincing him of not going and even his pun was encouraging. "Dude you don't know how much it helps to have someone who can assist with all this. I imagine after this first prom the rest of em won't be too bad." For a moment or two he shut his eyes, clearly soaking up in his last strain of sweats before he'd leave the sauna.
When it seemed time to get out Bul stood and adjusted his towel a bit and glanced at Demi. "Brought my wallet with me we don't have to stop by my dorm or anything." he said then left the sauna to gather his things from his locker and set them outside one of the club showers then proceeded to wash his sweat off- of course glowing all the while.

Damien still wasn't buying what Bul was saying as he kept his arms crossed in front of him like a bratty scareling. "Still involves restricting and itchy attire." he whimpered out behind a pout.
There never were any after parties for the hound at the old balls he had to attend, nothing but hobknobing and strained greeting and smiles.he could still feel his paw itching at the thought as he rubbed the sweat off his skin. But again, he knew it mattered to the half beast and as a friend he wouldn't turn away his plea for assistance. "I'm rather surprised you did go to the students that knew how to sew in the first place man." he had to pause before asking his next question.
"I mean, do you even know your measurements?" he hurried after the glowing boil like a beacon in the mists to the shower stalls and picked his own little area to cleanse the purifying sweat off his much more relaxed form, his eyes fell back into their normal gaze and glow.
"Well, at least we both came prepared for emergencies, i've got my chain wallet on my pants, I could use some new clothing in case that stuff comes up again." he said with a grimace, the words just felt bitter in his mouth. He had to clean his ears with careful patience before doing anything else. "What exactly do you need? you looking for the entire ensemble?" he asked after a few moments of silence, other than the sound of falling water and the hound fiddling with his soap on a rope.
He wasn't taking any chances.

Yea sure, it's about this lo-
"Of course I know my measurements," replied the half beast as the water turned on though if Demi had Xray vision he could see the boil scrunched up against the wall eying the falling water with contempt. "And I asked you cause you seemed to know this stuff I dunno," Bul finally stood under the water flow, grabbing everything he brought to wash up and speeding through it to get past the horrible simulation of drowning.
"Let me think about that for a sec-" he said before the water shut off rather quickly and he started to dry off. "I don't need shoes since I don't wear em so that's one less thing. I have a tie and I've got some cologne and hair products. I just need a shirt and suit. And maybe something to give to Mei. Yanno just as an end of term pre finals gift."

You mean that short. mine's about this bi-
Damien had his hands up in a sign of surrender to the boil, the last they needed was a brawl in this kind of environment, and lack of attire. "Hey hey, you asked for my help, had to see how much you needed y'know?" he explained to the boil before dunking his head in the water stream, letting soapy suds slide away into the abyss of the drain. "Ya just can;t assume you did that kinda stuff right?" he hurried up through the rest of his cleaning and lice prevention.
He was at least glad to know he didn't have to worry about much, just the main pieces that would clothe the spiky boil, as he sized up the bloke. "Ok, that's really not bad." he said happily before throwing his loofah at the boil jokingly. "So what color is the tie?" he asked honestly after shutting off his showerhead and scrubbed his hair with the fluffy white towel. The act of getting clean was a trial for the green eared boil, but it beat smelling like wet dog.
Even he hated that smell.
"Oho!" he practically shouted out before barely holding back his chuckling. "Mei eh? A GIFT HUH?" he smirked out behind knowing eyes. "I know what you could get her, but we need a box for that." he mused out sarcastically. "Well, a small box in your case."
Oh yeah, he went there like a proper dude boil.

When he didn't have to Bul certainly didn't soap up but after having asked Mei out he had gone through the effort of finding good smelling shampoos and soaps and increased his showering percentage even if it bothered him to be blasted with water.
"Yeah it's not.." he replied and swatted at the loofah. "The tie is red and black pinstriped. Couldn't find a good red one that was just red." Now fully clothed the monster boil left his gym bag in a locker and made sure he had his wallet now in his pocket. It was Demi's next remark though that made the boil's lizard like tail come sailing into him followed by a very cheezed off snarl.
"Watch it hound-dog or I'll be putting you in a box," he said before snaking his tail back behind him.

He went after his runaway loofah with a hearty laugh and ducked into and area where he could put on his clothes in peace from the half beast. The comforting feeling of fur on his skin made him feel must more at ease and came back out to address the glowing boil.
"Well let's be thankful for that, sometimes too much of a color is" he had to pause in thought to figure out the best word for his sentence. "well, too much, like wearing a red suit, that is just NOT going to happen." he told Bul in finality, finger pointing and all to even dare him to question otherwise.
He did feel the need to check if his wallet was right where he left it, nestled in its little pocket and its clasp, the less stops they had to make to the maul the better in the hellhounds opinion. Even as the half beast snarled at him, Damiens toothy grin stayed in place behind his eyes swimming in laughter.
"Really now, I don't think i'm a appropriate gift for her, maybe a corsage or a necklace would work." he said, flicking his canine tail about to remind him that he wasn't the only one with an extra appendage. "Your glowing again buddy boil."

"Heh you're lucky she couldn't eat you then again.. a new stuffie..." Bul dismissed the conflict there by finally offering a decent smile. "Yea and if I don't stop I'm gonna be stuck as a light fixture at prom.." he sighed. It didn't bother him enough to mope over but it was very awkward and sucked to happen JUST before prom. Maybe Cricket knew it'd make him upset.
"But yea... actually I thought about red but if you think it's bad to go all red then I won't. Plus black will essentially go with whatever Mei wears.. I assume," he said while leaving the showers and fitness room making sure all his workout equipment was put away. "Come on mutt let's get to this, the sooner we go the sooner we get done. Where you suggest we go? Is there a good tailor around town that's not at the maul? They are really expensive and I doubt they do custom work.."

"Well, they could always use you as mood lighting man." he replied back with a wry smile, feeling back for the beast's luck before the prom, if only he didn't try to eat a bug. "Hey if you blush, does that mean your cheeks will glow pink?" he asked after they made it back into the main training room, double checking that his weights were indeed placed back.
The hellhound would be out of line if he gave the half beast a smack behind his head for even thinking about going full red with his attire, like some kind of walking blood splatter on the dance floor, but he didn't at least not physically. "Jack no, flashy red suit is a NO dude, you might as well walk around with sequins and a boa and wrap you arm around your boil date if you do that!" he all but barked out at him. "What you need to do, is go Classic."
"I couldn't agree more, all this talk of suits is making me itch." he said back, even if he took a bath, just talking about it made his skin crawl with discomfort. The question did take him off guard, having to pull out the well buried info on the clans suitors from the depths of his mind as he dipped his head in deep thought.
"You know, there is a suitor that's just before the mall, we can try there." he said after a small pause. "And you know your measurements so all ya gotta do is write them down and give it to them, it might take them a day to do alterations and you can try on a few pieces." he tried to keep the excitement from his voice, but the prospect of a dudes day out was starting to get him all jumpy.
"Shall we go give them a visit and see what we can find?"

"I'd hate to find out Demi.." Bul groaned. It couldn't get any more embarrassing than that and he'd have the hardest time trying to hide it. Then again that wasn't the worst place to glow..
"It depends on the material and what you wear underneath... you might find a suit someday that doesn't itch. I take it you are NOT going to the prom this year? I think you should lest you really regret it later yanno? At least show up or something. I heard mutterings there might be some brawling for fun afterward but I can't make any promises."
The last trip to the maul actually proved very successful but even then he was scouting for places to come back to when he needed to buy his suit. It sucked that there wasn't a lot of outfitters that matched his shape. His spikes proved to be a big issue since only some of them could be flattened.
"Alright then take me there," Bul laughed and walked with the hellhound to their destination. He'd leave today with the appropriate suit and finally get some rest before that big evening... and then soon after finals.
"So are you ready for finals?" he asked idly on their way. "You gonna wait to sign up or..?" Bul wanted to get them over with as soon as possible but his classes had just a short bit left. The only reason however he was ready to tackle them right there and then was the island.
