Lizzy was never one to share her personal problems with anyone else; she preferred to bottle things up and let them fade away, and nothing that terrible had happened to her thus far anyway. At least, nothing that she felt was too personal a problem to share... Well, until a few days ago, anyway. She was a hypocrite in a way, seeing how she had always encouraged her friends to come to her if they ever needed a listening ear or even some advice - sure, her advice might not always be 'wise', but she knew that bottling up one's problems was unlikely to end well.
Thus, she had sent a text to a good friend - a ghoul, since this was a ghoul problem - asking if she could come down for a visit. She didn't say anything else, just a 'Tess! Are you free right now? May I come visit you? x3', since she did not want to worry her... Besides, it was a chance to visit a friend! She had never been to her dorm, unless you count that one time she helped her get her scare package up to her room for safekeeping from greedy gnomes.
Now, she paced in front of the undead dorms, eyephone in hand as she waited for a reply.

Tess had been in the middle of the methodical ritual of brushing out her long hair. While she had help from her mytrix as well as at the insistence of Esmerelda, she wasn't anywhere near done. But the moment she saw the text on her skellphone from Lizzy and how the spider demoness wanted to spend time with her, Tess said (in her mind) To Hell with my hair! and quickly texted back with a: Y! <3 of cors! Nytym 4 u!
She was about to make a grab for Esmerelda when the dismembered hand skittered into her box without any prodding. Huh. That would have normally made the winged ghoul suspicious but she still had the purple tentacle to attend to and shove into the minipet closet before Lizzy got here and saw her in such disarray!

The moment she saw the reply from Tess, she smiled, heaving a sigh of relief as she pocked her eyephone, slipping it into the pocket of her jacket; she was worried that Tess might be too busy, since the visit was a little out of the blue. Making her way up the rather long flight of stairs in the undead dorms, she soon found herself outside the ghoul's door. Taking in a deep breath, she smiled and knocked on the door twice.
"Hey Tess! It's Lizzy!" She called out before taking a step back, waiting for the door to be answered; hopefully, she wouldn't find her fast arrival too suspicious.

Tess was still trying to wrestle the brushes away from Trixie when she heard her friend arrive. "Ack! I-I'm on my way!" Lizzy didn't have anything to worry about. Struggling with the well-meaning purple tentacle made time feel like ten million years had passed, so Tess wasn't in any state of mind to make a good gauge of elapsed time. With her minipet still glued to her torso like some tentacled bolero, she opened the door.
"Come in! Come in!" She smiled breathlessly, her hair now in more need of brushing thanks to Trixie. Thankfully, the rest of the room was in pristine condition. "Sorry about the mess," she apologized, smoothing out the still made bed for Lizzy to sit on.

She waited patiently outside the door, fidgetting with the edge of her dress to help pass the time. When the door finally opened, she beamed at the ghoul, giggling softly at the minipet attached to her waist. She nodded before walking in, giving Tess a hug on her way in, "It's good to see you again!" She liked living on campus, because it meant that her friends would just be a stone's throw away if she ever wanted to meet up with them.
"Oh, don't worry about it!" She smiled sheepishly as she released Tess from her hug and sat down on the edge of the bed, "My room isn't exactly known for its neatness anyway!" She chuckled at her own comment, and then, in a bid to find something to talk about, she continued with a smile, "So, I heard you agreed to be Mac's uh, partner to the prom?" No, she wasn't going to use 'date', even if it was for a 'silly' reason. Her smile might had faltered slightly when she said the boil's name, but it was barely noticeable.

Hugs were good! Hugs were always good! Trixie like hugs! TRIXIE GIVE HUUUUUUUUGS!!! Or it would have, had Tess not finally found the whip she'd gotten from Minipet Training and used it on the purple tentacle. While immobilized, Maritess took this opportunity to untangle herself from her pet and promptly but carefully place it inside the closet.
"I-I can help you with organizing your room if you like?" Tess offered with a bright grin and a cant of her head. Even if she was friends with Lizzy, she still felt like she needed a valid reason to spend time with her. However, the grin suddenly turned into an embarrassed smile when the subject of Mac and prom came up. But then she blanched, crimson eyes suddenly darting towards the box where Esme had disappeared into. "N-no, you heard wrong," she placed a hand to her lips, and motioned for the spider demoness to wait while she retrieved a batbook. With her penstrictor she began scribbling on the pages, Esme won't let me go to the prom if I have a date my parents haven't met.

Another hug was given after Trixie was removed. Waving a dismissive hand in the air, she giggled, "Oh, it's fine! I like to think of it as an... Organized mess." She nodded with a grin, although Tess' answer to her question prompted a confused look from her; Mac didn't lie to her, did he? Leaning forward towards the batbook when it was taken out, her eyes widened slightly before she nodded, grabbing her own pen before scribbling down on the batbook, below what Tess had written.
'Ohh, I see... Well, so you agreed then?' She looked at Tess, tilting her head.

"W-well, the offer still stands," Despite how much Tess was sounding like she was still hamming it up on stage during the school play, she was sincere. "How are your preparations for the prom going?" she asked aloud, then quickly scribbled her response: Yes! I diiiiiiid! complete with a shy, almost disbelieving smile.
She chewed on her lower lip briefly before adding, He seems to think you don't like him for some reason? this was accompanied with a confused tilt of her head, though. As if Tess herself wasn't sure why and how the reaper boil could think that.

"They're going great! You can come with me, if you like! It'll be fun!" She smiled, playing along to give the ghoul a way to go to prom, hopefully without arousing Esme's suspicions. Noticing her new response on the batbook, she scribbled a smiley face; she was happy for Tess, really! Just that a small, small part of her was not sure how she would deal with being near her good friend during prom when he's there as her escort... It would hopefully not be awkward. She had been looking forward to prom, and she was sure that Tess felt the same way...
When she scribbled something else, Lizzy frowned; she had already cleared it up with Mac, but... He actually said that to Tess? Her confused look was met with a small, sheepish smile from Lizzy as she quickly scribbled down something below it, 'He's important to me, just like you are... I guess he just doesn't believe it?' She paused, looking hurt for a moment, although that expression quickly passed as she continued writing, 'I guess it's because I'm a demon. He doesn't seem to like demons...'

"Oh! I would like that very much! Thank you, Lizzy!" For an added effect, she even clapped her hands, though the hug that followed afterwards was the proper response to such an offer. "But what about your date?" she whispered into Lizzy's ear, voice soft enough that even the hand within the box wouldn't be able to hear.
When she pulled away to read the demoness' response, Tess did not fail to notice the brief look of hurt on her friend's face. A part of her felt the same indignation on Lizzy's behalf she'd experienced when she'd gone to inspect the literature. Especially after all the positive things and encouragement Lizzy had been giving Tess regarding Mac, the undead wasn't certain his reaction sat well with her.
All demons? Why? Should she really be asking this? It wasn't unheard of for Halloweeners to be prejudiced or racist. The debacle between a certain raum boil and zombie ghoul during Sex Ed class sprang to mind. But how could anyone be prejudiced against Lizzy of all demons!?

"You've very welcome!" She giggled, returning the hug before blushing a little at the question. She nodded, smiling as she scribbled down her response after being released from the hug, not quite sure if she should be answering out loud or not; after all, she did not want Esme to think badly of her! She liked to think that she had been a good influence for Tess, after all.
'Mot agreed!' She was obviously both excited and happy as she wrote that down, although part of her was still... Well, hurt. She was trying very hard not to show it though!
'I'm not sure... He's really a good person. At least, I like to believe that.' She smiled, even though it was a weaker smile compared to before. She paused before continuing to write, a fond smile on her face, 'He taught me how to swim, knowing that I couldn't, because he didn't want me to drown in case another field trip brings us to some place with water... I don't know... I trust him though.' With her life, if it came to that.

Tess had not been with the group on the Island. She'd stayed behind with the rest of the injured students, going crazy from the fog, and seeking refuge with Amrita and Tahki. She didn't see how he reacted when Lizzy died (thankfully, Tess wasn't there herself because she was liable to have snapped) but she had seen the way Mac hugged the demoness when they got back to the academy. "Did you make a nomination for Prom king and queen?" Tess had to keep the charade going, as confusing as it was on an emotional level.
She held the penstrictor against the page after having read Lizzy's response. Despite the smile on Lizzy's face, Tess liked to think she could tell that it was edged in the faintest hint of... was that sadness? No, it looked... sharper. Pain, maybe? B-but why would that be there? Are you sure you're okay that I'm going with him to the prom? It was the only logical explanation she could think of. It didn't really make sense, after all, Lizzy encouraged her to give Mac a chance but Lizzy was acting... different.
Tess needed to know why because she didn't like seeing her friend this way!

"I did!" She forced a chuckle before winking, "Its a secret though~ Did you make your nominations?" It was rather mindless banter, but it... Sort of helped. It was nice to talk about 'normal' stuff as well.
'Of course!' Was Lizzy's immediate answer, scribbling it down on the page as she cast Tess a side glance, an eyebrow raised. Why would Tess think that she was not fine with it...? After all, she was the one who wanted Tess to agree to going with Mac! Then again, things were different a few weeks ago... She resisted the urge to sigh, instead choosing to continue writing after a short pause.
'Don't worry! I'm fine, really! I'm actually looking forward to seeing both of you at prom.' She nodded, tapping at the page with the back of her pen, 'I'm going with Mot. He's a really great guy! You met him during the prom committee meeting, right?' She smiled.
