His time with Love had proved itself to be very fruitful. No longer the scrawny adolescent that he had been when he had met the stallion Carnivore was now fully grown. His body had filled out nicely, large muscles rippled under her pelt as he moved, his mane and tail had grown thick and full, and the best asset of all, his canine teeth had fully grown. He had always noticed that those teeth were sharper than normal, but it wasn't until he latest growth spurt did they show their true form. He was truly a carnivore now, not just in name but in abilities as well. He hunted well, bringing down even larger prey than before and his sharpened teeth helped to not only kill the prey but consume it as well. One step closer to defeating his father.
But there was one important thing he had to find out before he could make his move, even if there was a bit more training to do, and that was to ensure that his mother would be safe when the time came. So he and Love had set off on a scouting mission, to take stock of the herds numbers, location and strength. But most importantly he had come to check on his mother. Bringing his hooves to a stop not far from the border of the lands his father currently ruled Carnivore took a deep breath. The stench of decay and death hung heavily in the area. Yes, they were still here. Sad really, he remembered overhearing his father on many occasions that the herd would race across the lands and destroy everything in it's path, but here it was more than a year later and they were still idly standing by. Glancing to Love the stallion bobbed his head. "Close, can smell them."

Love stories walked behind Carnivore letting the younger stallion lead the way. As he walked he pondered over his students successes. He had grown into a strong and powerful horse. It seemed that walking had paid off. He snorted to himself in laughter.
However he had to still his growing merriment. This was after all a serious mission that they were embarking on. His eyes took in his pupil once more. Yes, he could say he was very proud of what carnivore had become... sharp teeth and all.
Love sighed and then took a deep breath. The smell of death hit him like a slap to the face. He had become used to the decaying smell that lingered around Carnivore... but he had never smelt anything this powerful.
His eyes wide. he shook his head and then lifted his chin. "Lets go..."

The young colt was had wandered off from his siblings to have some alone time. Having three sisters really got on his nerves sometimes. What was worse, was that unlike his sisters Chaos did not look like their father in the sense of having decay. No, he was more like his mother, normal and therefore not as welcome within the herd. He had heard whispered that the leader of the herd had spawned a normal looking son but that colt had been run off. So why then was he allowed to stay. Oh well, it didn't matter so much to him.
Moving into a large meadow, whose grasses were a sickly brown due to the long standing presence of decayed horses Chaos ran about, he imagined that he was a great stallion who was fighting off an entire herd of horses. The reared, kicking his legs out, then snapped his teeth at one. Next he bucked and with a sneer imagined that he had landed a fatal blow to his foe. But there were more and so he continued his mock fight, blissfully ignorant to the approach of two horses that were not a part of the herd at all.

Carnivore caught the look of Love's eyes as the stench of death reached the stallions nostrils. It was strong, very strong and he couldn't help but smile at this, exposing his sharpened teeth for a moment. Leading Love past the border that marked his fathers lands Carnivore was making his way towards where he had remembered Regret often stayed. His mother didn't move very fast, nor did she like moving a lot anyways, so he figured that even after all this time she would still be found in that same collection of trees as before.
Sound and movement pulled his attention to a good sized meadow. There was a colt, running, kicking and playing as though he had not a care in the world. What disturbed Carnivore was that this colt was on Hell Herd land but looked completely normal save for his glowing eyes. Well that's not fair at all! Why was he banished and this colt was allowed to stay? Granted he had no idea who this colt was or it's parents. Snorting Carnivore changed coarse, aiming directly for the colt. The small grey beast didn't even see him coming and with a swing of his large head Carnivore bowled the colt over and stood over him before he had a chance to get up. "Normal not belong here." He sneered at the colt showing off his sharpened teeth.

Love loped after carnivore... seriously considering the fact that Carnivore may tear into the foal. He stopped short when carnivore bowled over the foal. He listened to what carnivore said and then realized the situation.
"Carnivore... leave the foal be.... he has done nothing to hurt you... and you need your strength to find your mother and then fight your father..." Love realized then that he had just blabbed to the small foal exactly what they were going to do....
"Maybe he can help us find your mother..."

Chaos let out a sudden yelp of surprise as something knocked into him and set hims sprawling on the ground. He thought perhaps for a split second that it might be his father or at least some other member of the herd who had wished to play with him or even get involved in his mock fight. But as his eyes fell upon the black hided stallion his fears were realized. This horse was not from the herd. Ears pinned back for a moment and then his eyes widened at the stallions words. How did this horse know what did and didn't belong here?
Finding a bit of courage Chaos looked right into the stallions red eyes. "I belong here, I am Chaos the son of Vengeance a beta of the herd." He may not look like the others, but damnit his blood said that he deserved to be here. His eyes ticked t the other stallion as he made his approach. What did he mean that this stallion was going to fight it's father? Just who was this stallion? And more importantly why was he saying that Chaos didn't belong here when he was accompanied by a normal horse himself and other than the sharp teeth appeared normal as well.

His eyes narrowed to dangerously thin slits. So this normal colt was the son of a beta. How dare his father let him stay here when he himself had been run off. There was almost no different between this colt and what he had looked like as a foal. His eyes turned to Love as the stallion came up beside him. "Carnivore have plenty of strength, foal is easy to kill." It would be like killing an unsuspecting rabbit at this point. The foal was already on the ground and prone, it would only take one swift kick to the head and it would all be over.
And yet he withheld his hooves. Nameless came through for a split second and felt pity for the colt, and that stopped Carnivore. He had been the scared normal foal once. Letting out a sigh Carnivore knew this foal would live to see another day...or at least for now he would let him live. After a quick annoyed glance at Love the stallion turned his attention back to the colt. "Where is Regret?" He demanded of the Chaos.

Love tried not to sigh a breath of relief as Carnivore stayed his hooves. Love glanced at the foal and nodded "Stand up boy... we really don't have all day." Love flicked his tail... the poor foal didn't know what he was getting into. Getting into.... being forced int... it was all the same right?
Love shook his head to clear it. Carnivore wouldn't be too happy... but Love was now determined this foal would be accompanying them to the end of the day... Tossing his head he looked to Carnivore. "We can't stay in one place... it will call too much attention..."

Regret? Why did he want to know where Regret was. Wait a second. Chaos took a closer look at the stallion who stood above him. His black pelt had light dappling on it, and he had seen red eyes like that before. Could it be? Was this the normal colt that Thanos had spawned with Regret? But...that cold had been called Nameless not Carnivore. He realized that hew as probably taking too long to answer the question. "She...she was with Thanos the last time I saw her." His eyes ticked to the other stallion who demanded that he get up.
Slowly Chaos wiggled out from under Carnivore and rose to his feet. Now he would see just how large both of the stallions were. He had been lucky that his life had been spared. Perhaps if he showed these two where Regret was they would leave him be after that. "I can show you where they are."

Damn it. If mother was with father then now would not be the time to make his move. As the colt started to get up Carnivore snapped his teeth at hm. It would be no good for the colt to think he got off easy. One wrong move and his skull would be smashed in by Carnivore's hooves. Snorting in disgust Carnivore turned his attention back to Love, the stallion was right then couldn't stay out in the open for long, sooner or later another herd member would notice. "We move in trees, less chance they see us." He remember during his short time here that most of the horses, save his mother, tended to stay away from the trees, preferring to stay in the larger open meadows.
Using his head once more Carnivore began to push Chaos towards the trees. "You show us. If you call for help, I kill you." He didn't like having a colt in tow, it would only slow them down, but if he let the beast run off then he may very well alert the others to the intruders and then their plans would fall apart quickly.

Love followed Carnivore. As soon as they had stepped into the hell herd lands Carnivore had become the leader of their small group. And Love didn't know how to feel about this. He tossed his head and snorted.
At least Carnivore was being an intelligent leader. Love trotted into the tree line and flicked his tail. "Are you ready Carnivore... Remember your training... be calm and fierce...." His eyes flicked from the colt to carnivore.
He had complete faith in his student.

Well now he wasn't sure what he had gotten himself into. There seemed to be a fight looming in the air, one that would happen between Carnivore and Thanos. Would he get caught in the middle of it? Slowly he walked with them through the trees, heading in the direction he had seen Thanos go this morning with Regret. Part of him wanted to run, reach the safety of the herd and alert the others. But one look towards Carnivore told him the stallion had his eyes on him and one misstep would be his end. He wanted to know why Carnivore had returned, but was too afraid to speak up.

Carnivore shot the colt a warning look when he looked towards him. His eyes almost dared the colt to say or do something wrong. His blood would then be the first to be spilled in the war against his father. If needed Carnivore would kill all the horses here to reach his father. The sound of voices filtered through the trees and Carnivore brought the small group to a halt. Leaning his head down towards Chaos he whispered in the colts ears. "You make sound, you die."
Then with a glance at Love Carnivore peered through the trees. "Carnivore born ready." He said quietly to Love as he watched. There in the distance he saw the black hide of his father along with its white of bone and pink-red of his exposed skin and organs. And then his mother came into view. Ears drooped a moment as Nameless surfaced once more. Oh how badly did he want to run forward and greet his mother. It took a firm shake of his head for Carnivore to return to power. He couldn't make his move not now. Luckily the wind was in their favor and would not give away their hidden positions for now. He looked towards Love, a frustrated look upon his face. "Mother in way, cannot make move yet." Perhaps the stallion would tell him what to do, how to fight his father without hurting his mother.

Love took in the sights before him. He could clearly see two horses and he assumed they were Carnivore's parents. However.... there was one problem. Regret was standing firmly between Carnivore and Thanos.
Love's training told him that the best thing to do was wait. But with a foal that would make noise if they waited too long...waiting was not an option. Love looked from Carnivore to the foal and then back. "I will take the foal to those trees... He shall call out for regret to come see him... that should leave your father open." In other words... they needed a distraction... but not a big enough one to cause his father to worry.
He tossed his head. "That is unless you have a better idea."

He knew it, just knew that somehow he would end up in the middle of this. Chaos glanced between the two adults, now why couldn't love make a distraction instead of him. His eyes turned to Carnivore hoping the black stallion would come up with a better idea, one that didn't involve him. Finally after a moment of waiting he spoke up. "Regret won't come to me, she doesn't like me." And that was the truth, Regret disliked him because he reminded her of the colt she was not allowed to keep. Many times she had spoken to Thanos trying to convince him to chance of Vengeance's normal children because he had not allowed their own to stay. Another voice suddenly added to the mix of Regret and Thanos and the colt turned his head to see who had come up.
