War watched the sky. There were black clouds coming over the mountains. She shivered. It would dump a lot of rain by the look of it. She sighed. She would have to let her traveling companions know that the rain was coming so they could take shelter. How much she missed the indian shelters on rainy days.
Battle simply watched his sister thinking about the future and the past. He sighed and then glanced back to where Siska and Konue had been. "We will be back!" He called this down to them so they would know he and War hadn't just up and left them. Battle made his way to his sister's side.
"It will be ok... we will find our home sooner then later." Battle nudged his sister's shoulder lovingly. "We will-" He broke off as he saw a spotted figure coming toward them.
War had seen it too and nodded to Bat that she had seen. "You go that way." And just like that...they had something they needed to do.

Love Stories wandered away from the small black horse he had been training. His head pounded. He needed a break from the ever constant training. He needed to think up new ways to train.... Sighing he dropped his head and walked forward oblivious to the impending attack.
Love looked around and moved toward the stream that ran through this valley. Pulling his pelt from his shoulders he walked into the water up to his shoulders.
Sighing a sense of calm washed over him. Much like when he was in that one herd's territory. He sighed and looked over to his pelt. Did it really mean respect? He started out of the stream just as he heard a movement in the bushes.

War and Battle had been working together since they were small and because of that.... war could simply flick her tail and have her brother move where she wanted him.
Bat however was on the losing end. He tried to flick his tail and tell his sister not to move... but of course she didn't listen. He sighed and watched his sister leave the bushes to face the new stallion.
Bat followed suit and called out. "who are you?!"

Love flicked his tail and realized just how deep in the water he was. Literally and figuratively. Sorting carefully he looked at the two approaching horses. He recognized his siblings immediately. He tossed his head. No longer fearing what would happen. He loved his siblings... and that was that.
However Bat's question gave him pause. Did they not recognize him?

Bat reared and stomped his hooves hard into the ground. "Talk... and we may just run you off... and not kill you." He grit his teeth. He already had one new stallion and foal stalking them around... he honestly didn't need another.
Ears back he gave a bark at the stallion as he decided to remain quiet. Battle Stories looked from his sister to the trespasser and then back.

War stories watched the stallion in the water. He had gone from scared... well not really but the semblance of fearful to not worried at all. Most horses when face to face with bat and herself would have melted into a puddle... let alone at least started to talk.
War flicked her ears back and forth for once unsure. And then her eyes turned to see his pelt lying on the ground. She snorted and looked from her brother's pelt to the stallion in the water... Bat and herself had gained their mother's face features... and looking at this stallion she frowned. Was it possible.
"Who are you." It was a command not a question.

Love glanced between the two horses. War was beginning to place the pieces together he could tell. His eyes darted back to battle. The stallion looked ready to take him out.... He glanced back to war and noticed the gentle flick of her ear and then how Battle calmed slightly. "How about... I tell you a story..."
He glanced at war and waited. If war said ok.... then battle would have to agree as well.

War simply nodded her acceptance. "Sure... but it had better be a good story." She glanced at battle and battle sighed. He stepped back to let love out of the chilly water. He snorted to watch love toss the pelt back on his back and settle down. "Well get on with it."

Love looked between the two and sighed. "Alright...."
He got a distant look in his eyes as he remembered. "It was cold... I was going down the cobblestone roads. A stiff rider on my back... I must have been a gift... because the rider was clearly no horseman." Love shifted and looked to the two horses each in turn. "I was two... so that was two years ago" He tossed his head slightly and then looked at each one as he waited for them to remember two years ago... they would have been yearlings. He flipped his tail.

War snorted and looked at him. She remembered that part of her life that was the year her brother was taken and then her and her brother were sold to the indians. She shivered and then looked back to battle. Would he connect everything? She hoped to high hell he would

Battle was remembering the same thing. And his ears were pinned back in anger. Bat was the one who was angry and bitter out of the two of them... now he wasn't outwardly angry... he tended to bottle it all up and save it for later. He just hoped later wasn't today.

Love stories sighed and went back into his story. "So anyway.... i was going down this cobble road and a man dressed all in black came up and put a hand on the bridge of my nose asking about my price. The guy said i wasn't for sale but i had two siblings that were strong."
Tossing his head he snorted. "The rider on my back told of how well my siblings would do as war horses. This must have intrigued the man and as such a small piece of paper was transferred from one man to the other." He sighed and looked up. "I haven't seen my siblings since that day."

Love watched War shift uncomfortably. "Now it wasn't until later that i found out that i did have a price. It was considerably more than what the other was willing to pay... but i was placed on the next boat out of the harbor." He watched war carefully and knew she had finally connected the dots.
"It was a long hard boat ride out of England...but eventually i made it here and was then given to my new owner... he didn't waist a moment.... Not two days later i was tied behind a wagon heading for the Wild western frontier...." His eyes glimmered. He looked at battle. "How i missed my siblings... but of course i would never see them again... They were back in England."

Love grinned. "Well at least that is what i was lead to believe.... I found out later well any way..." He shrugged. "Suffice to say things got hard for my owner...He sold me to the Indians for a fair price..." He shook his head. "But that was the best thing that could have happened to me." He snorted.
"Little Falcon had to sell all his other horses so he could afford to get me..." He sighed. "But he loved me... Before he got married he was a proud and brave warrior and we saw many battles... Once he was bonded to Red Fox, he had to stay home more... but he cherished his rides with me... He loved me more then that woman...he told me so... "

Battle snorted and pawed at the ground. "This story better have a happy ending." He glanced at his sister and shook his head. "What is with that look" He could see that War was uncomfortable. He glanced at Love stories...What was the connection?
