The Datuak Bazkide reside in an area of forest, with an extensive cave network. It is inside this cave network that is particularly unique, however - there is a spring in the heart of the cave that provides water, and due to this source of water, the caves are covered in a luminous plant that forms strange, data-like patterns, both providing illumination throughout the caves, but also a guide, as the closer to the inner caves it is, the greener it is, whilst as closer to the outside it is a bright cyan. Any cubs or pups are taught early how to navigate the system - because the cave system is large, and the plants are the only certain way of navigation. The forest outside the caves is thicker nearest the caves, then gradually getting sparser out to grasslands, and then to the plains. Most members of the pride don't go out further than the grasslands unless on some kind of trip, and youths are strictly prohibited from going beyond the forest to protect them from any potential kidnappers. In the forest, symbols are carved into the bark to allow the pride to navigate, but they mean nothing to outsiders, being based on the cave patterns. In the grasslands, you can see where you are going.

Some things stay the same and some change.
As Daa looked out on his motley group, the start of what would hopefully flourish into his pride, everything that he had seen going wrong last time remade, he smiled. There they were. Here they all were, with stone amulets and wings, furs and bark...together. And not like last time. But new. Maybe not whole, not yet. But they were working towards it. Together.
--
There were Partners and their Tamers. They weren't always the same species, but always the same gender. The Partners, given animal trinkets or token to represent them. The tamers given inanimate objects to represent them. A line of trust between the two, together since birth. The tamers, blessed with intelligence took care of the partners, blessed with strength, who protected them. It was a balance in the pride, and one that kept everyone at peace with each other. You would never find one without the other.
Tsu’kaa and Daa were one of the few partners who still held true to those old traditions. The pride had become seeded with corruption, and many partners were little more than servants. They treated the others as someone to do the tough work they couldn’t do, like hunting and fighting, or just wouldn't. Each generation was becoming worse and worse, spiraling into depriving the partners of anything resembling intelligence or emotion. Soon enough the tamers barely allowed their partners to feed with them, causing the partners to double the amount of work for themselves to find food - and worse, they'd brainwashed them so they thought it was right. Even if they had noticed, it was hard for the partners to approach the tamers on this issue due to the fact that the tamers where more superior in intellect and would trick their partners into doing what they wanted.
It was wrong.
A fire erupted in the pride. Everyone was screaming, the forest awash with flames, and the caves were no protection - someone had stacked the entrances with flammable piles. Many were harmed, some had died.... The partners who could still think took advantage of this and scattered far away from their tamers, bullying along those who were confused, and the tamers were almost all gone. This event, this catastrophe, drove the pride to be disbanded. There were too many partners gone, and not enough cubs could fill in the spots for the next generation, even the few that were left.
No one knew that the accident wasn't one. It had taken weeks to plan, keeping secret until the last moment. He had planned it to minute detail, Daa. It hurt, seeing those who had forgotten, seeing tamers abusing there partners, to see the corruption. He couldn't fix it - what could he do? He was a juvenile. So he burned it all. At first, he had planned to get everyone together afterwards, to rise from the ashes...but he got seperated from Tsu'Kaa, and he was frail. He fell, hit his head. It took many seasons until he remembered everything. He was strong now....he would fix everything. Perhaps not as strong as Tsu'Kaa...so he needed to find him first. -
This is just the beginning of the new pride, perhaps some good will become of it. Allowing the partners and tamers to live in harmony—or perhaps there will be another incident which will cause a downfall to this pride.
RULES
Partners and Tamers must be the same gendered. There can be different species together in a pair. Romancing between a partner and a tamer is discouraged, but is allowed. A Partner is not allowed to mate with his or her tamer. They may mate with a tamer out side of their pair and vice versa.

Beliefs.
The Bazkide do not consider themselves particularly religious. They do not do sacrifices, or pray in general, but they do believe in higher powers and gods, so a few creatures here and there may have particular gods they pray too - and more than one pride member has been caught praying in a tight spot.
However, what the Bazkide believe in, above all else - is partnerships. Balance. Darkness and Light in equal Harmony.
Pairs may be higher than others, do better, be faster. But within that pair, there is no difference. They are the same soul, split into two.
That is their core belief. That there are two halves of every soul, and only together can you be whole. Because of this belief, romantic relationships play less of an importance then they do in other prides. Whether you become life-partners, or have a series of flings, it doesn't matter. It is your dedication to your tamer/partner that matters.
Romance between a tamer and a partner (within the same pair) is taboo of the highest order. The pair would be killed, instantly. Just don't go there. At all. Safest not even to think about it OOCly, because it would be a great deal of stress ICly for not just the dead pair involved, but it would shake-up the whole pride.
The same, to an extent, applies to your kidlings. Every pride member is, at some point, expected to donate their genetics (Unless they're a hybrid.) to create offspring. Whether they CARE for said offspring is completely up to them - other pride members will always pick up the slack, especially those who cannot have children the natural way.

Ranks: Pairs must be, if not in the exact same rank, in a VERY similar position.
Mega The most powerful ranks in the pride - the leaders, basically.
Programmer Tamer&Partner: Leaders of the whole pride, basically. The programmers work out any kinks in the system, making sure the pride runs smoothly, and sorting out any disputes without bias - which is why it's a Pair.
Subroutines Any: Mates to the Programmers. Usually help them out, whether through logical or emotional support - often take supportive/in-pride roles such as Developers or Designers. Cannot have outside-pride roles or roles that take them outside the pride.
Sovereigns - North, South, East, West Oddity: Neither Tamers or Partners, the Sovereigns are the chief spiritualists of the pride. Usually reclusive, they come out only for ceremonies, otherwise using familiars to communicate with the rest of the pride.
Ultimate These ranks are usually only obtained with lots of hard work and dedication. Other than the leaders, these are the go-to's for any trouble.
Are the same as rookie ranks, but higher up still. [There is no Program role here.] [There is no Networker role here.]
Champion Do well in a tournament - this is a well-established role.
Are the same as rookie ranks, but higher up. [There is no Program role here.]
Rookie 'apprentice' rank - Also given to any members who misbehave.
Developer Cubsitters - Usually nurturing individuals, Developers are the main carers for cubs of the pride, but they also care for anyone else who needs extra support, no matter what age. They barely ever leave the pride.
Designer Crafters - What they craft is often very individual, but their main duty to the pride is to create the token items for the Partners and tamers, and fix them if needed. They occasionally trip out for materials or new techniques.
Hacker Guards/Fighters - whilst the Datauk are not a violent pride, they are under no illusions that many others are, not to mention the rogues. As such, Hacker is a popular profession. The Tamers in Hacker pairs often tend to be strategic, and able to think on the spot. They make frequent trips out of pride borders.
Engineer Healers - Whether herbs or paws, lotions or remedies, these are the animals who patch up anybody that gets hurt. The pride has a large resource of information on healing carved into the walls of the memories chamber, but Engineers will often wander outwards too for new remedies.
Networkers Wanderer Rank: Pride members who wander out more than they stay in, whether as gatherers (not always of materials..) or otherwise.
Crests Spiritualists - whilst the Sovereigns are the absolute law, they are incredibly reclusive - these are the everyday 'priests'. They almost always stay in the pride.
Programs Default Rank: General Pride members who don't specialize in any particular job, but who help out where needed.
In-training Adols - As Adols, the time has come. Out you go. All adols are sent out of the pride to go on a 'quest', to allow them to roam and meet new people before returning home. The difficulty of the quest depends on the adols in question - the pride would not send any struggling adols out too far, and likewise they wouldn't make a pair of shining stars do something simple.
Tamer You are the guidance. You are the one who takes the potential of your partner, and shapes it. You are the one who makes decisions. You are the one who needs to know right from wrong.
Partner You are are raw talent. Strength, speed, agility. You are a protector. You keep your Tamer safe. You listen to them when they are right, and challenge them when you are wrong. You are the passion behind the precision.
Fresh Juves - all juves are treated the same way, given plenty of love, attention and affection by everybody in the pride. Whilst the immediate biological family often do much of the raising, anybody in pride is family, so their strongest bonds aren't always formed of blood.

Other/Extra Info
Ranking up is done in tournaments, where all those who wish to rank up compete in their profession. ICly they happen once a month. OOCly they are held once in every season, depending on demand. Familiars always hold the same rank - that of 'Digivices'.

Battle System/[ROUGH]
Battle System How to Roll [x] number of dice [20 sided]. Any number above 10 is a hit for attack. Any number above 15 is a save for defend, evade or will.
[x] is the number of
For example: [Simulated fight between Rookie Programs)
LIONA rolls 13 dice for attack. He gets four successful attacks. In his post he writes out that he goes for a mild attack.
LIONB decides that he is going to try and dodge the attack. He rolls 2 dice, and both of them fail. In his post he writes that he tries to dodge and failed, getting the other lions claws across his muzzle.
Get the idea?
The pride has a dedicated rolling thread [here] so you don’t have to clog up your RPs with rolling.
