Born into what some would consider royalty, Mikomi is the only daughter Hyuuga Clan's Head branch, and the next leader of the clan. Having been trained since childhood for this at a young age, much has been expected of her, and she has fulfilled nearly all of it. No one has ever met Mikomi and has not commented on her grace and supreme ability, both in matters of diplomacy and rule, but also in combat. She is well known as a true 'ruler of the people' as she has, on many occasions, gone against what her own father has said, not in a rebellious fashion, but in a way which has protected those who normally would have no voice.
Mikomi would say that there is nothing special about her, having been quoted many times as saying, "The only difference between you and me, is that I was raised in my household, and you in yours."... and more then that, she believes it. As such, she does everything she can with the power and ability which has been thrust upon her to work for those whom others might never see and to bring lasting equality to her Clan which would see a disappearance of the Head and Branch family division and an abolition of the Branch family seal.
For all of her devotion to her clan however, she believes firmly in service to her village and believes that if she is one day to be the Head of the Clan, she must first live the life of all those she would rule over. As such, she has been an active ninja for many years, serving the village in every manner required. She has refused the aid and protection of her guards and required herself to undertake all missions, large and small despite the outrage of her family in meddling with 'a commoner's job'. More then anything else however, she prefers to teach and is willing to instruct anyone who is willing to learn.
It has been rumored that she passed the Jounin exams, but refused the promotion in order to remain a lower rank for longer.
