Ok, I'm in AP social studies, so we have college textbooks. I am always shocked at how biased the books are. No wonder so many people in my school are so left-wing, what with the media and such propaganda in text books.

Luckily, my teacher is pretty moderate and open to discussion. But my English teacher is SO FAR LEFT WING I can't stand it. We read Animal Farm, and she preaches the goods of socialism. We do propaganda, and she bashes Fox and the Bush administration. She almost wrote up this guy for opposing her.

If it's this bad in high school, how the heck am I gonna make it through college?? Does anyone know of any good conservative schools besides Hillsdale in MI? Are your teachers/classes like this?

EDIT: stupid me, I just saw another topic like this one... I guess leave out the teachers part and just discuss textbooks/conservative colleges.

I turned to alcohol and tobacco when I started college for a reason... not recomended, but I can not deny that it's kept me calm and off CNN.

I wouldn't recomend looking for a "conservative" school because 1: I think most that can be called that are fairly religion based and 2: Most colleges aren't actually THAT bad. It's mostly a few vocal profs, some dumbasses that you need to go to school (and occasionally 'deal with' when no one's looking). Just know that you can choose your professor and classes at college, and any liberal land mines can be avoided if you do proper research in advance.

They were, I'm not really in school anymore at this point in time.

I don't really know which way the university I'm planning on attending leans politically, but I do know of the problems we are having. (I made a thread about it dealing with the NCAA's rulings on colleges and universities with "hostile or abusive" nicknames.) Either way, there is a club for Republicans so I'm gonna join that.

I'm in AP English, and a lot of the stuff we read in there is a bunch of liberal hooha, mostly anti-war stuff, which all sounds the same. I get tired of reading that stuff.

my advice, go to school, shut up, then when you become richer than they are, run for president (id say smarter to, but looks like you go into it one far step ahead)

Sounds like something along the lines of those Jewish bankers that supposedly run the world. And of course she can make those comments and get away with it, because if you said something to her you'd be a racist. So no hatin' for you. xp

College really ain't all that bad. A lot of this liberal professor stuff is incorrect. I mean, the majority of my professors are liberal and such so that much is true, but I've had absolutely no issues with them. In fact, I rather like most of them and they have been very fair in grading.

Here's my advice: a lot of bitching and moaning comes from individuals who can't write objective papers, and as a result get poor grades. Don't concern yourself with the "what ifs" of maybe, possibly, probably-not-but-still-maybe-maybe-maybe, getting a botched grade because of your political affiliation. As long as you are objective, you'll probably get the grade you deserve, and if not, you'll have a strong case against whomever has wronged you.

I'd never start tobacco or drugs, but I'm definatly going to start drinking in college. I think it's a healthy enough way to deal with the stress if its like, one glass of red wine or something.

My English teacher used to say that the Cold War was senseless, but other than that my teachers are okay.

My Social Studies teacher actually will start talking about how great the U.S.A. is, and what a fan she is. Which, I must say, is very nice. =)

I'm thinking of attending Ohio State University...

Why don't you enroll in an economics degree, you'll find that a lot of your lecturers there aren't big fans of the left

I have two liberal professors: one's the classic East Coast Elitist and the other is some sort of socialist feminist. They're nice people, it's just that their political views irk me.

If they are economists that need to teach to make a living...

How does the saying go, those who can't do, teach?

My sister was an art student, and naturally everyone assumed she was a liberal. LOL

I had a Liberal Sociology Professor and He was a native Iraqi.
He complained he didn't like the war at all, but he said that he couldn't stand Saddam and he needed to get out of power.
ME: 'That's why we went to war though.'
Liberal Sociology Professor: 'This war is bullshit'
ME: 'well how else would Saddam get out of power'
Liberal Sociology Professor: 'The U.N Would have gotten him out you Idiot'
ME: 'Well The U.N is all talk, and They didn't do anything to take him out of power for the past 15 years after all the violations he violated when were they going to do it?'
Liberal Sociology Professor: '.............No more or I'll Drop you out of this class'
That shut him up
Another time was with a Lefty-Economics Teacher in High School (I knew more about Economics than she did LOL)
Hippie Economics Teacher: 'I Don't understand why we went to Iraq for oil?'(Some bullshit like that)
ME: 'We can't be there for oil if we are paying 2.50+ a gallon for it.'
Hippie Economics Teacher: 'Well Bush is Pocketing that money that is extra'
ME:' Maybe part of the reason is the cars we are driving. Look around the all the cars in the school parking lot they are big cars not small sized sedans anymore'
After Hippie Economics Teacher Bitched about Hummers saying they were stupid...and then she changed the subject
I will Challenge these liberal hippies and prove them wrong
