Nul knelt, bringing his huge head close to the ground as he inspected the green shoots pushing through the dry dusty earth, a small smile quirking the edges of his muzzle as he noticed the growth. Excellent. He had picked many herbs from this area the other week, leaving the population sparse - but as he didn't need the seeds, only the flowers, so he'd returned, dug holes and planted the seeds, laboriously transporting water from the nearest source (a small stream a noticeable distance away) in a hollowed-out gourd, tipping it over the plants. Some of them had died, but many were thriving, and the herbs were growing nicely. He smiled, picking up the gourd and carefully dampening the ground.

Val was on no particular 'search' that day but she was just roaming the rouge lands checking on the plants that she visits often. Over harvesting was a possibility for her but since she could spread her search across the savanna and farther it was not a very possible possibility. Even so she did keep an eye on her common harvesting spots as well as checking to see if there was anyone that she could help.

It came as a surprise when she came over a rise and saw a very colorful lion watering a collection a green shoots growing in the dry and dusty earth. After a moment of silent watching it became apparent that this lion had been seriously working to keep his green patch growing since the nearest water source was a small stream quite a distance away. She remained silent watching from a decent distance, waiting to see if this lion with a green paw would notice her when he was done.

As he finished watering all the shoots, he placed the gourd under a nearby rock, where he'd hollowed out a hole in the ground under it, so he could re-use the gourd without carrying it around. Smiling to himself, he stood up - then noticing a green lioness (he was too far away to pick out the details marking her as a god yet), he smiled awkwardly, raising a paw in greeting. He spoke too, but it was nervous, quiet, and quite possibly inaudible.

"Ah-Greetings."

He shifted awkwardly. What was he supposed to do. Did she want his help? (He thought the pack round here was wild-dogs though...that'd been all he'd healed, anyway.)

Val smiled slightly. He seemed a bit awkward but friendly. "Hello." She called out as she began to walk closer. "It is unusual to see someone watering herbs. Most just leave it and think that nature will take care of it."

Val stopped a polite distance away. "It is nice to see others at least caring for that which is useful." She nodded to the shoots. "I am Valetudo'sero. Although most just call me Val." Her smile was kind and friendly. "If you don't mind me asking but why are they just shoots. The last time I passed by here they full grown and flourishing."

Nul nodded as she spoke. Indeed, most Lions did have that opinion - that Nature took care of it. And most times, it did. Waiting until she finished speaking, Nul politely ignored her....unusual features (having never met a deity before, he was unsure as to why she had leaves stuck to her fur.)

"Nature is very resilient - Usually stuff does regrow...with normal use. But I used more than normal. If you grind this plant and mix it with mint, it cures the fever-sickness really well. The wild-dog pack around here were suffering very badly from it - especially the puppies - so I couldn't hold back on helping them. But I kept the seeds, replanted them, and now I'm watering them. When they flourish again, I'll move on."

Nul's voice was more confident now that he was talking on a subject he was knowledgable about. He smiled proudly down at the little seedlings, unconcsciously puffing up to his normal size instead of his crouched-down stance to make himself smaller he usually adopted. He was huge!
