The night was cool and welcoming to Kousetsu. The breeze was cold, yet enjoyable to her. The day had been overly hot, and the night was what made her feel better. She pushed her paws into the soft sand as she lay in it looking up at the stars above. Oh how she loved them. So pretty, so mysterious. She lost her thought in those stars. All her wishes, dreams, and future were up there. At least, that's what she thought. She had no real clue on what that really meant though. She just some how knew that the stars were what told her her life. It was just a matter of reading them right.
"So pretty" She said without really realizing it. Not that it mattered, anyways. There wasn't a soul in sight. At least, that she could see. Then again, her attention was completely up in the sky. There were no clouds, and that was what made it perfect. She could see the light purple mist around the stars here and there. She wondered what it was. It was beautiful, whatever it was. Each star had it's own brightness, even the ones that weren't as bright as others. She wanted to touch them...

Kayo decided he couldn't sleep as the day had been hot and the cool breeze just felt so good at the moment. giving a big yawn, he stretched before he went to take a short walk in the cool breeze. shaking sand off himself, he didn't have to go too far before he came across someone he barely noticed in the sand since they happened to be a sandy color. tilting his head, when he was close enough not to have to shut he spoke. "hello, your out late."

She jumped, popping her paws out of the still warm sand. Looking over to the male who she had met only a few days ago. She hadn't forgotten about him, though she didn't know when to bug him. He never told her when he wasn't scouting. "Oh.... You! Hi... I mean... Yes..." She could feel herself heating up. God she was an idiot. She just made a fool of herself. She looked away from him for a moment then back at him. She could still save this.
"I like the stars." She said looking back up at the sky while sitting up so she didn't have to look up at him. "They're beautiful." she told him still gazing above at the dark purple sky. There wasn't anything in the world quite like them. And they weren't even on the world.

Kayo had a huge smile on his face when he realized it was Kousetsu. " i hope i didn't spook you or bother you." he couldn't whip the smile off his face as he went to sit down near her. " it's really nice to see you again and it really is a nice night for watching stars." glancing up at the sky, he loved how clear the sky was. " so have you been well?"

She giggled at him. She found it amusing and cute that he seemed to smile when he realized who it was. It made her feel good. Perhaps he actually liked her! Though, she wasn't going to get her hopes up. The last time she did that, it didn't work out and turned out the male actually had no interest in her and wanted her to go away. She smiled at him and looked back at them. "Yes, they make things much clearer for me when I want to think"
It was half true, she could think clearly and get things sorted in her mind, but she could always lose herself in the stars. Which made her forget what she was thinking about. Which wasn't normally bad, she wasn't really important and nothing she thought about was considered important anyways. So it was all good.
"Why are you out her so late?" She asked him. Forgetting that he was probably doing his job.

"i can see how they would." Kayo chuckled then looked over at her. he found her very sweet and liked that about her though he still was a bit too shy to admit he did like her. when she asked him why he was out so late, it snapped him out of his thoughts of wondering if she might like him in return since he never told any crushes that he liked them. "oh the cool air was so nice i decided i would enjoy it a bit before returning to sleep. plus it seems i picked the perfect time to venture out for a short walk since i ran into you." he had a bit of a small grin on his face as he hoped she wouldn't be thinking he was weird for being happy to be running into her again. "do you mind at all if i join you for a bit? that is if you don't mind some company at all."

She smiled at him. He wanted to sit down with her? Her heart started pounding a little bit. She'd never had a guy want to be near her. "Well, if you want.." She said " I mean, I don't mind" She added "I mean... I'd love you to." She shook her head and looked away. What was wrong with her? He'd probably think she was stupid after that.
" I mean, I'd understand if you didn't want to." She said. " I won't force you to stay out here if you don't want to." She was thinking that perhaps he was just being nice to her. I mean, she wasn't very smart and was looking pretty foolish now. She could feel her heart pounding even louder. What if he heard that? It was so loud, he must hear that.

Kayo was more than pleased she allowed him to keep her company. he couldn't stop himself from chuckling at her since to him she was acting cute. "don't worry your not forcing me to stay out here. i actually would like to stay in your company for a little while before heading back to sleep." his own heart was racing a little as he hoped he didn't seem like a drooling idiot who couldn't handle being around a female. carefully he sat near her and curled his tail tightly around himself as he tried to be as casual as possible but was failing rather miserably. " so do you come out often before sleeping?" at the moment he felt like a complete failure as he didn't know what else to say to her. oh how he wished he didn't seem like a bumbling idiot who couldn't just talk causally with someone.

She couldn't help but to giggle at him. He seemed almost uncomfortable, nervous, even. She smiled at him before looking back up at the sky. "Only when I want answers that I know myself, and when I can't sleep" She said honestly. She had no reason to hide anything from him, other then the fact that she liked him. She didn't want to make him more uncomfortable in saying something like that. As well as, if he didn't feel the same way, she didn't want to get rejected either.
"Do you?"

Kayo took a moment to respond as he was mentally trying keep his cool as he felt he was being a idiot at the moment. "not often enough sadly. only when i cant sleep or if i'm thinking of my family at night." looking from the stars, he looked back to Kousetsu and smiled at her. " some how star watching makes me still feel close to them even though they are so far away. but that probably seems silly of me." it had been some time though since he had last thought of his family and wondered if they were doing well. which now that he thought about it, he felt bad that he didn't think of his family more often but he wondered if that meant he was finally at home here. "do you have any family you wonder about?" he now wondered if she had been close with her family like he had been with his own since he had learned rather fast that not everyone was close with their family.

She didn't think it was silly, not at all. She looked at him while he spoke. He seemed always so happy, but now she could see a small bit of pain in him. Even if he didn't notice her noticing it. "I don't think that's silly' She said with a smile. Her tail tapped gently on the sand as she sat there. " I have a sister and a mother" She told him. Though her father she never knew. She just knew that he was a god. She'd never tell anyone that. She only just found out through a vision she had. Though, it wasn't strong and seemed more like a dream. Yet so real. It confused her a little in a way.
"Though, I wasn't as close to them as I would have liked to be" She told him. Her sister was her younger sister and her mother had always taken extra care of her then Kousetsu. She also had half siblings, but she never got to see them, and only knew of their names. If she were to run into them now, she'd not even recognize them. She was sure they didn't even know she existed. "I'm sure they miss me, but not as much as if we were close. I'm sure they are fine."
She hadn't given much thought about them since she had left. Seeing as it made things easier that way. If she had thought about them, she probably would have found herself back in the Pridelands. She'd have never met Kayo. Some sacrifices of life was worth it, and this was one of them. She somehow knew that her family was safe. Hell, if her father was really a god, she figured he was watching over her and her sister.

Kayo did miss his family but he had no regrets leaving them plus he wouldn't be here now with Kousetsu if he hadn't." its a shame your not really close to your family. but maybe someday you will have a close family of your own if you find that special someone." he had always loved having a close family when he had been with them and hoped some day to start his own close family. " i know i definitely want to have one someday when i meet the right girl. i guess i always been the close family type cause of my parents." now he really hope she didn't think him all weird to be talking about starting a close family someday when he found someone. but he felt he could be open and honest with her so he didn't hide the fact he was a close family man.

Kousetsu hadn't thought about that before, either. Never thought about trying to find someone to settle down with. Though, she never really liked anyone that way, except now. She looked at him and felt her face heating up again. Her heart pounding a bit more. "Maybe" was all that she could manage to say at the moment. She didn't know if she'd be a good mother. She never really took interested on that sorta thing when she was younger. Never putting a mind towards what her mother did.
"But until then, I guess I could just make close friends." She said with looking at her feet. Anywhere but his face. She thought that he'd for sure hear her heart pound in her chest if she did that. She pawed at the sand with her paws, trying to make a little sound that might drowned out any idea of her pounding heart. It was an awkward feeling, being next to someone you liked and not wanting to tell them. Though, she couldn't... Not yet anyways.
They did, after all, just met. Wasn't it silly saying you had a crush on someone when you hardly knew them? She wasn't sure. She didn't want to find out either. "I never really thought about having a family of my own, to be honest." She said trying to break the silence a bit more. Her voice was almost shaky and kinda nervous sounding if listened to carefully. "Though, the thought of it now seems nice."

" close friends are always good to have." Kayo could tell he had made her nervous with his comments about starting a family. " don't worry i have never put much thought into the idea of having a family ether. plus we are both young anyways." he decided he better change subjects so that he wouldn't scare her off or make her think it was something he thought about a lot. " its getting really late and here i am talking your ear off." giving a awkward smile, he didn't really know what else to say to get things on a different subject. " i hope i'm not keeping you up later than you wanted to be." pawing the sand lightly, he felt like a total idiot for making her nervous.

Oh noes! She was scaring him away some how. She felt panic, yet she didn't know what to do. She held her breath for a moment trying to figure out what to say to make it less awkward. What if he didn't like her after this weird conversation? Oh no! "You don't have to go, really." She said with a smile on her face. She could feel her body slightly shake, what was wrong with her? Why did she have to scare him off.
" I don't mind having a bit of a good conversation" She said. Though was it a good conversation? She could feel her heart pounding even more. What if she just messed everything up? She held her breath again without realizing it then let it go the moment she did.
