Sun. Bliss.

Delaka'noya was curled merrily in a perfect spot of sunlight, and he absolutely could not imagine being anywhere more wonderful. His dark coat soaked up all the heat and he sighed in utter contentment. The world was looking like a lovely place at the moment for a rather lucky lion called Del. The other day he had stumbled across a veritable goldmine of a find- some shards of what looked to be a clear gemstone ((ooc, it was glass xD)), but was clearly not crystal or anything as precious. He had felt like jumping for joy- this was going to be prime pickings for a new con! All he had to do was fashion them into resonable shapes, mount them on some wood so they wouldn't seems so fragile and, voila! A valuable commodity he could use to trade for!
What was he in the mood for though, hmm? He rolled onto his back, ignoring the multi-coloured prickles of sunlight that pireced his eyelids and contemplated what he was in the market for. Maybe some new furs to line his makeshift den? Some large teeth to make himself a necklace? Abruptly his stomach grumbled, answering that question for him. Food, it would have to be food to start- but he had found enough shards and made enough necklaces that finding a willing hunter shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Just a few more minutes in the shade, he promised himself, then he would go and find a likely target...

[OOC; -facedesk- Apparently gaia ate my post, because I know I replied to this. Fff, re-writing posts is horrible - sorry if this is substandard. ]

Gui stared at the carcass like it would grow teeth and eat her instead – she’d killed the prey – that was fine, because if her tamer wasn’t around and she was going to starve, she was allowed to kill the prey – she couldn’t find her tamer if she was going to die of starvation after all – but there was nobody around to eat first! And that was a big thing! She was …well, she couldn’t remember the word for it, but she wasn’t allowed to eat first. She wasn’t important enough…or something. Anyway, if she ate first bad things happened.

And there was nobody around!

Whining, she ran in a small, tight circle, resting her head on her paws, eyeing up the meat. What was she to do? This was a problem.

And then, like the voice of her tamer (except…not, because she couldn’t remember what it sounded like…) the answer came – in a male lion she could just see. She shot to her feet, bounding over with unrepressed glee, until she got close, when she paused a little, trying to be better-behaved.

“Good morning sir.”

She blinked happily, smiling at him.
He’d eat first, right?

((ooc: D: that's heartbreaking, but no worries. It's such a pain having to rewrite stuffs...))

Del was vegged out merrily in that blissful place between slumber and waking- dreaming hungrily of dark red haunch meat when he was jolted awake by a voice. He looked up from the ground muggily and saw through sleep fog and sun spots a sweet looking lioness grinning down at him.

It took a few moment for him to form a cognizant reply, in which he spent taking his time getting to his paws and stretching. His stomach gurgled loudly, and he winced. He gave the lioness a once over, he was so hungry he couldn't waste time finding another mark- so she would have to do. Now his task was to find out what kind of lioness she was, and what would method of trickery would work on her.

"Hello there, miss, what can I do for you today?"

Mnnng, so tired...
If asked...

Gui'ii shook her head violently.

"Nuuh. Miss is for...uh...not me! I am Gui'ii. Or Gui. Or...or anything not polite, yes! Yes." Gui nodded to herself. Yes. That was correct. That was definitely correct. That was good, good good good. Now he had to eat first - so polite then ask. There was a phrase...but it wouldn't come out - like that time she had a burr stuck in her coat, and she had to go in that freezing-cold river to get it out - only there was no freezing river here, and maybe that wouldn't work with words anyway.

"I forget the phrase, 'cause there used to be something I had to say, but will you come eat first? Please, Mist-uh, Sir? It's just over there! And it was a good one!"

...I'd probably rather be asleep.
I'm so sleepy....

Baffled. He had never been so utterly baffled in all his life. At first he thought he was being tricked himself but... He took in her adjitated expression, musing. This Gu'ii was either the best liar he'd ever met- or genuinely a very strange lioness. Any other time he would have lingered longer, but a magnificent bellow in his stomach made up his mind for him. If Gu'ii was going to try and trick him- let her! There were nary a few lions who could pull one over on him!

"A pleasure to meet you, Gu'ii. You may call me simply Del. That sounds like a very tempting offer, I must say! Do lead on."

As soon as Del agreed the tension veribly fled from Gui's body. She even bounced a little as she skittered back to the kill (a juvenile gazelle - thick with meat and a lucky shot for the hapless lioness.) then sat, tail curving round her body excitedly as she waited for him to eat what he needed. Then everything would be alright and bad things would not happen and everythingWOULDBESAFE. Yes. Safe safe safe safe.

"This is it. Here it is mister-sir-del."

That was polite...right? Well, if not he would claw her and he hadn't done that so she was being good and polite. If he did indeed tip his head down to eat, Gui would let out a noise almost like a purr - yes. The world was good. If not, she would stare curiously at him.
