Amphi was trapped. Well not trapped, okay no trapped. She was stuck in the woods outside of the academy. On a impulsive trip to the pools she had found deep in the woods, a place she liked to consider a sanctuary of sorts, she had realized that her walk through the woods on a path that she thought was well...the same path to the pools, had twisted into the middle of the forest and middle of no where. Needless to say, Amphi was lost, tired and her body ached for the return to her mermaid form, just the thought of cool water washing over her was enough to make her ache deepen.

"Are you kidding me?"
She mumbled as she wandered the woods. Lost was never a good thing, lost was never a good thing when she wasn't sure if another person was out here, WHY would another person be out here? She was totally screwed at the moment, like super screwed. Like if she didn't find either the pools or the academy she was going to become a flailing mess of a mermaid on land, and that never turned out pretty. Her kind tended to dry up fast, and it was a ugly messy process.

"Jack damnit all." She cursed....quietly. While she was super angry that she was lost and was again sure no one was out here, she didn't want anybody to hear her curse. It was impolite and very un....what had her sister's said? Very unattractive or something. "Hello?" She called out meekly, again not sure if that was smart. Especially because if there was something out in the woods, it might not even be a member of the academy, worst it could be something that would find the little fish a tasty snack. "Is....Is anyone there?"

The cool air was just what Sarias needed. The night previously she had been kept awake by a horrible sweaty heat infested evening…Natalia had dam well seen to that. And for that one blissful night all her worries were gladly ignored. Yet now the ache in her chest had returned ten fold. She wasn’t happy about this. Nope. Not. At. All. She thought, mistakenly, that once a few weeks had passed from falling out with Seiji that she would be well & truly over it by now, that she wouldn’t be bothered anymore about the argument they had but, well…she wasn’t! And that’s what pissed her off the most! She couldn’t give a flying ******** what the little pissant was up too now or how he was doing! He could rot in burning s**t for all she cared for, the little ******** a** shitting piece of cra- THUNK! - “UH-OWW! OW! OW! SHITTING OW!” – Without a second thought her hand smacked out against the nearest tree, knuckles crunching on the bark as she realised all too late her skull pin was still very much on. Her fingers made a delightful snapping sound as she balled her fist up and struck out with all her might in true detest of the creature that was Seiji…there may have been slight regret at doing that..

“Aiiii, OW! Ow, ow, owww!” If Amphi wanted to see a banshee dance she got it and with front row seats to boot as Sarias wrapped her hand around the other and fell into a fuming jig, her colourful words echoing through the trees as she screamed and ranted and jumped in sheer rage at her throbbing hand.

“AHH! FOR UN-GODS SAKE YOU SHIITY MOTHER JACKER!”

Yeah, Amphi was in for a surprise. As she had continued walking the woods, she had noticed a faint glow of a ghost and followed till she stumbled on that of what she had heard her sisters call a Banshee. Amphi wasn't sure why but usually she felt a kindred for banshee's, mostly because of singing. Their music if it was not the screaming mess that most banshee's had, was sweet and sorrowful, something that always drew mermaids to the singer.

Though just as Amphi was about to the ask the girl, everything got really violent. She had punched a tree and now was cursing, and doing a...painful jig. Amphi winced in sympathy and then her face turned super red as the ghoul let loose the most foulest of curses. The air was literally turning blue around them.

"Um?"
Amphi reached out to touch the girl on the shoulder, before handing her a piece of cloth, though she wasn't sure if that would help the girl's hand. "Are you alright? Well besides that your pain, wait that was an obvious question. Sorry!" Amphi was still red from the curses that Sarias had let loose and her faced ducked down to look at the ground.

The banshee had not taken into account that there would be others so far out into the forest, in retrospect she probably wouldn’t have projected her words as clearly as she had done….wait what was she talking about!? Of course she would have! It didn’t matter if she was stood in front of a group of newborn gremlins the words would still have fallen from her lips just as fast & harsh! And she wasn’t in the mood to apologies to pint sized glowing bimbos for it either! The cloth on offer was stared at and the hand on shoulder received a growl in warning until it was removed for her person. When everything had been done Sarias sniffed hard down her nostrils in response, her red burning eyes flashing at the intruder with distrust. Her hand throbbed without mercy and the last thing she wanted was some pretty ghoul trying her best (which was rubbish in Sarias mind) to make it better.

“I just smacked my hand against a tree; I think it’s pretty obvious that am not fish!!” It may not have been clear to everyone what sort of creature Amphi stemmed from but Sarias could smell her aura from here…and it stank. It wasn’t a real smell of course, but Amphi aura was crystal green in appearance and swam around her like little fishes and sadly for Sarias she could sense it. She wanted to swat them away, crush them in her hands, but being invisible to most creatures she was already appearing a bit mental with talking to herself before so she resisted making it worse, she could always squish them later.

“Why is it always the ones that smell Goddess! Give me a break!...Fine…So?…what are you doing all the way out here ghoul?” She gestured to her as she leaned against a tree, the dead branches seemed to move away in protest as she came near. That can’t possibly be a good sign.

Amphi flinched as the girl's anger was directed at her, and was even more surprised that the other girl had clearly defined her as a fish species. Which was...half true. "Excuse me? Smell?" Amphi blinked slowly once at her and tried not to stifle a giggle at the girl. She was funny in a scary angry way.

"Oh, sorry are you talking to me?"
She tucked the cloth back into her pocket as she dimwittedly looked off into the distance. She had one of those rare moments where she zoned out of the world, and then zoomed back in the worst possible moment. "Well, I got lost really. These woods all look the same and uh...." Amphi watched as the ghoul leaned back on the branches of a tree, that seemed to want to move away from her. Jack dammit, that meant this forest was either enchanted or....the banshee had offended the Jack gods or goddesses and they we're paying retribution...while Amphi was there. Oh well. Amphi shrugged off her over active imagination and continued to talk, "I am trying to find a series of pools around here." She smiled at the Banshee, "You ever get those scary needs? Like being a mermaid means that I need water and well, I think I hit the limit before i start drying up into a flaky mess." Amphi brushed off her clothes before looking at the ghoul again, "Hey, how long have you been in here? Have you seen a bunch of pools of water around?" She kept her friendly smile on.

The banshee raised a groomed eyebrow high. Well the ghoul was obviously three seeds sort of a pumpkin pie, one of those 'special' students she had heard about…although saying that everyone she had met at the academy was ‘special’. All those students did was spill verbal diarrhoea from the fat gobs talking about the latest s**t shoved down their throats Prom apperently this time. Pile of crap this it was. Uhh! How she hated them! But there was no point in letting out her anger on this idiot; it would seem this ghoul didn’t have the IQ to work out when she was being insulted. Sarias would have to find some other way to get her kicks.

“Lost hmm, well…I can’t say am surprised. Don’t you have like…carers looking after you?...I guess it doesn’t matter now though, I don’t really care.” She stated flapping the uninjured hand in her direction as she pushed herself up and started to circle the student like a predator finding its prey.

“Pools? Needs?” The ghost didn’t know what to say. If anything she was taken slightly aback. She had never heard of someone calling their primal instincts ‘Scary Needs’ she actually liked the term and a more pleasant smile replaced the scowl on her features.

“Well I guess I don’t need to see you becoming flaky…you have it bad already, poor thing.” She gave a mock look of sorrow as she patted the ghoul on the shoulder, coming that little bit too close as she swept past again.

“I will help you to the pools if you wish, I know where they are to be found from here…although I think you need to make it worth my while before I go out of my way to aid you …don’t you think...Flaky.” Sarias grinned again at this, Amphi had a new nickname. How special she must feel right now…

Amphi was still staring at the Banshee, for some reason she could just hear something ticking in that pretty little head. Though she didn't really care as much, seeing as she barely knew the ghoul anyways.

"Carers? What the devil are those?"
She gave Sarias a pointed stare back at her, was this girl crazy? She was spouting nonsense of a carer? Did Amityville even have those? Regardless she kept her face blank as she continued her staring. Catching on, she could tell this girl was one of the more unfriendly ones. Maybe. Can't say to soon.

"Yes pools, needs, scary needs of being a water creature on the land." Amphi said patiently, what was it about land walkers that it was hard to comprehend that mermaids, well in fact, any sea creature needed to keep themselves drenched in water. Without it, they wouldn't survive for too long. "Uh...Flaky already!?!?" Amphi looked at her body to see if her scales we're starting to show and if so, we're they drying out. When she didn't see anything she sighed in a breath of relief. "Wow you scared me there, thought I was already turning into a dried out mermaid!" she laughed nervously

Cocking her head at the girl, "Aren't you lost too Ghoul?" She laid her hands on her hips and swiveled her head to look at the woods, or did Sarias know this place like the back of her hand? "Oh! So you do know!" Her same hands came to clap in excitement, her mind reeled with the pure enjoyment that soon, she would be immersed into the cool refreshing water. "Worth you while? Sorry but I don't have any money or anything like that on me right now." She stared blankly, just what could she offer Sarias.

Sarias stifled a giggle at the prospect at being lost and stop pacing for a second to really look at this ghoul. Did she not know who she was? She had assumed that all creatures were made aware of her existence if only to be know of the great things she was to accomplish in the future. Poor thing must be more stupid than she thought.

"I don't do lost ghoul. This place is my home for now and I see that I know every corner like it belongs to me...which...I guess you can say it does. Don't listen to the meaningless facts that this is the academy ground. I eat, sleep and breath this area. You are in my territory now."
she let out another howl of unfriendly laughter and came up to the student once again, a pale hand snatching a few threads of silky hair from her face and she gentle pulled it back behind her ear. She was way to close for comfort. "You will be safe with me for now..." she whispered as she stepped back to give the ghoul room to breath.

The fact the ghoul wasn't keeping pace with what Sarias wanted didn't seem to bother her. A favour owed even when said monster did not know it was to be owed was still fun to spring on them at a time that was convenient for her

"I will take you to the pools, you can at least entertain me with your worthless life while we walk, the least you can do for all my trouble dont you think?" She murmured as she flicked a hand in her direction, a swish of her dress and she was walking away deeper into the woods. Was this really the right way? It was slightly unnerving to say the least.

"My name is Sarias by the way, I am a banshee of the highest order. It will do you well to know all the species that attend this school. To know how to work with them, use them. Since you have already exclaimed you are a mermaid may i be bold to ask what you feel you can accomplish at this academy? I don't there is much need for your kind to tell the truth."
And knowing Sarias she was.

Amphi sighed. It was quiet and less obnoxious sound that started from her gut and ended out in the air. What was this ghoul. She was interesting little ghost but dang, she was weird!

"Fantastic then. Sorry for intruding." She curbed the annoyance she felt. Usually she was a free spirited goes with the current and very hard to make angry. But those jack damn needs really messed her system up and she was losing Patience with the ghost banshee. Curbing her temper, which was hard to get going but once it did, it was like a underwater volcano before placing a smile on again. "Alright, so the pools." she said weakly again reminding the ghost of what she was really after. Part of her wanted to laugh at the other ghoul, mostly because Sarias made it sound like the woods were truly hers, which Amphi at least knew better than that. She was gulliable, and a little slow on the whole Land walker customs. But she knew Nature had no claim over them, even she didn't claim the sea as her, regardless that she knew the inside out of it.

"Territory? You queen of the deep dark forest?" She bit off the sarcastic comment before sighing again, "Sorry, those scary needs tend to bring the worst out of me." and Sarias wasn't helping really, especially when she got really close, which uncomfortably made Amphi blush a lot. She tried to ignore the jump in her belly before squelching it down. Thankful when the other ghoul moved away.

If she had known that Sarias had other idea's about the whole owed favor, Amphi would've just wandered away. She wasn't big on owing people really, it meant that she had to keep in contact and never knew the danger of having it come up in the worst possible moment.

"Entertain about my life? Oh so you want to know about me." Amphi snorted and then smiled, she was catching on to the Banshee's abrasive nature, in fact most of the way the girl acted was starting to make a little more sense to the mermaid. "You phrase things weird for a land walker." She tucked her hands into her sleeves as the ghoul introduced herself.

"I figured you for a banshee." Amphi snorted unladylike again, "We mermaids have a keen sense for the other races of entrancing kinds. Like sirens, Nixes, Banshee's, what have you." Amphi waved her hand, "Besides your not the first banshee I have met." She thought of the little pale banshee that wore what land walkers called lingerie. She had been pretty in the ghost way. She laughed at Sarias though as she was brought up worth while in the species category. "I think my kind is more of a fascination. Where we are given the looks of humans and molded with that of a tail. There isn't really a need for our kind, unless of course you live in the sea." she bore a stare in the girl before thinking of how best to explain, "We are meant to be temptation, a forbidden fruit for the humans or any other creature we entrance, either with our looks or our songs." She shrugged, "And we drag them into our sea. Some past stories say we use to dine on the flesh of the humans." she walked a little behind the ghoul, making sure not to stay too close as she was sure that Sarias was the type of ghoul who liked to be a leader, the more dominant if you could put it that way. "My name is Amphitrite, or Amphi for short." She didn't remember if she told Sarias her name, and if she did well, it was lost in the randomness of the conversation.
PostPosted: Mon Jul 18, 2011 9:44 am

Sarias ignored the ghouls annoyance as if it never happened. The feelings of others were beneath her, who was she to concentrate on some ghouls feeble emotions at times of stress. Not her for dam sure.

"Land walker? Humph, I hardly call myself a land walker. I can submerge myself in water, walk down there if you wish. I am ghost, I don't not need to heed the ways of the fleshies. I just walk upon this earth because there happens to be where everything else is. And how i talk is no concern of yours, I would watch your own tongue fish." she spiked as she continued to walk in the woods. The trees grew denser here, covering the sky with a canopy of leaves and dead branches. The world was getting darker, a chill was stirring and it was hard not to question where Sarias was going. She listened with an air of boredom, the banshee wasn't really listening only nodding from time to time when the ghoul had something more of interest to say. But then there was one thing that did catch her out.

"Not the first?...Not the first banshee you say?"
she stopped mid float and turned on her, her eyes betraying what she thought as they blazed red.

"Another banshee!? When? Where! Ghoul tell me now before i choke it from you!" Her hands were balled into fist as she swarmed up to the other ghoul. What a reaction. Her chest heaved heavy as she looked down her nose at Amphi, her mouth turned to an ugly scowl as she waited for the answer.

Well, Amphi thought, She had met a sure interesting ghoul. One who seemed to like taking things out of context and warp them around. Then again, Maybe Amphi was over thinking a lot. She just wanted to get to the pools and soak her legs, If being led around by the ghost was the only way to do it well then, there you go.

"Really?!?!" Amphi actually seemed a little excited by that, to know that ghost could go down in the water well, it changed her whole perspective on the girl. "So you kinda of like me but...better." Amphi added at the end, she didn't want to offend the Banshee after all. It seemed the girl like being the...higher one up on the scale of halloweeners. Which was fine with Amphi, she didn't like to be a leader, or the popular one or the queen or whatever.

When Sarias turned though, Amphi felt a dread drop from her head to her toes. Eye's blazing red, the ghoul advanced on her, screaming. She was...terrified at the moment of the other girl.

"Sh...She was..." Amphi choked down the fear she felt, pushing the words out. "No not the first Bansee, there was another one um..A...A..AISLIN!" Amphi didn't shout the name but stuttered it out, "She was weird one though, had a hole in her throat and pink smoke. And wore a lot less clothing then we do." Amphi looked down at Sarias's bust and then to her own short clothing. Anywhere but back at the Banshee's eyes. Yeah, this Mermaid was shaking in her landwalker flesh.
