Azzo's boots were on the desk as he leaned back in the rolly chair letting the phone ring. He was calling Aurora and telling her she should come up on Wednesday. It would be late enough in the week that he thought he could convince her to stay the weekend and not to mention the end of camp wouldn't be that much further away and him and Zia would be let off camp duty.
He counted the rings as he watched twirling a pencil. He actually missed having his puppets. He could've put on a puppet show during the fire safety training and he probably could've gotten better reception from the kids. His thoughts trailed while he waited.

Aurora had spent the afternoon working on packing the last of her more delicate trinkets for her upcoming move. Her jewelry box full of all but her most common pieces of jewelry was carefully wrapped. Her hand mirrors and crystal and metal decor pieces packed tightly and neatly padded with newspaper. She had been wrapping her tea cups and drinking sets when her eyes paused on the newspaper in her hands. Classified.
Her eyes skimmed over each of the job listings softly. Should she get a job..? Or continue to focus on school and her 'after hours job'? Her attention had been so lost in thought that she wasn't shaken out of it until the third or fourth ring of her cell phone.
Scurrying over she glanced at the screen and spotting an unknown number lifted it softly and curiously. Who could it be? "Hello. This is Aurora Namid." She answered politely, sounding almost like a secretary truthfully.

Azzo sighed as he waited, obviously after about ten rings or so if it didn't go to a mail box he figured no one was around. However, after about the fourth the phone was finally picked up. He was about to say something after hello but paused when the voice kept talking.
"You sound like you work for a fancy business." He said without thinking about the fact he was going to say hi until afterwords, "Hi Aurora, this is Azzo. I'd like to leave a message for you." He was now either giving her a hard time or joking.
He chuckled, waiting to hear her response honey brown eyes half closed in amusement. Watching the pencil as he twirled it with his free fingers.

"Azzo!" Her voice perked excitedly as she recognized the voice on the other end. Of all the people who could possibly have called he was of course the one she wanted the most and it was evident in her voice for the two syllables.
As she realized she was being teased however her expression and voice changed, her fingers stroking the phone sheepishly. "Oh well.. I didn't recognize the number so..." If he could see her he'd see that her eyes had dipped to the floorboards.
"What did you want to tell me?" That he missed her? The corners of her lips turned upward gently, willing herself not to say the words herself and drown out what he was going to say. It was probably just about what they'd spoken of before. Her coming out to stay in the woods.

Azzo chuckled, "Of course it's me silly." He said with a smile, glancing around to make sure Zia was still busy else where, last thing he needed was her coming in and giving him gruff about using the phone.
"Oh, right well I didn't know the number to give it to you." He shook his head, "Still though, it sounded like you were working as someone's secretary and was about to tell me you'd take a message for whoever I wanted to speak to."
The chair he sitting in twisted side to side a little bit as he pondered, "Oh....? Um..." He paused surprised that she'd asked that, wondering if she'd forgotten about having plans for her to come up. "It's quite up here." He said finally with a sigh, "Too quite, I think you'd like it." He did miss her but should he really say such a thing, or would she think it was silly? He took a breath and sighed, "Besides it's not the same not being able to see you." There he said it sort of.

"Maybe I should do that for awhile?" She asked vaguely, taking his teasing a little better this time. It wouldn't be that hard and it WAS the kind of job a proper lady took on. Not too hard or time consuming. "Just until I actually finish school and get a job teaching."
She'd settled onto the ground comfortably as he spoke, listening as he paused, eyes glancing out the window. "It hasn't been very long, but I agree. I can't wait to see you again. Have you been having fun?" The words slipped out of her mouth much easier it seemed. Perhaps it was something about not actually seeing him that saved her from the usual shyness.
"When do you think it'd be best for me to come up there?" She hadn't forgot. Silly Azzo.

"If you want." He replied before getting up and walking with the phone, it was corded but he had made sure that the wire attaching it to the wall was long enough he could walk most of the room as long as he picked up and carried the whole phone with him. "It's whatever you like to do Aurora, you could get a job baking for all I cared... granted then you'd be seeing me two or three times a day more than you do now."
He was teasing again but it was true, he'd probably eat the bakery out of business if he had his way, there was a hum as if he seemed to be talking, as he leaned out to look outside at the three dogs playing in the fence. They had toys and were playing tug of war and what not. "Fun enough, I suppose." It didn't sound like, they had to work how could that be fun? "I have this Khaki outfit I have to wear, you'd probably die laughing if you saw it."
It was a stark contrast from what he normally wore, and well it wasn't always the most comfortable of outfits either. Right now he'd opted for wearing his pajama pants and slippers since he didn't think they would be needed for anything. "I'd say probably Wednesday," He answered her after a second, and then added; "The kids will be going home the week after."

It wasn't really the response she'd wanted or expected and a soft pout touched her lips at his flippant reply. She was asking too much.. really she knew it. It wasn't like they were an item just because they'd confessed the fact that they cared for each other. She shouldn't expect boyfriend like behavior from him.. still as a friend.. Weren't friends for helping to make big decisions like that?
She pushed the thought from her mind. He likely had his hands and mind full so it wasn't very fair for her to judge that right now.
"I do not think I've ever laughed that hard" She teased in return, trying hard to imagine Azzo.. who always wore such dark and rich colors in something as tacky as khaki.
Fingers tapping her phone she glanced up at the calender that dangled from the barren wall. "Wednesday at 5 pm. Does that sound alright with you? And you can show me around on Thursday if you aren't too busy?"

Azzo would have probably given a more serious reply if he wasn't quite so bored out of his mind, and having to put up with Zia's constant whining about no phone service. He smiled, "Yes, it's not my style at all, I can't even darken it any."
He paused looking at the calendar, "That sounds fine. I can give you the address and stuff so you can get a cab to give you a ride." He said, "I can pay for the cab when you get here."
There was a pause, show her around on Thrusday if he wasn't busy... "Honestly, there's not been much to do. Occasionally going around making sure no one's in the woods hunting or something stupid like that. Responding to a few minor calls. We don't really have much to do here. Like I said, it's almost too quite."

Even despite her attempt to hide it behind her lips the subtle sound of laughter could be heard through the reciever at his plight. What horribleness! To have to wear light colors for once! It wasn't really far to make fun though.. had she been forced into something distasteful she would have thrown a fit too. Appearence was so important! Hence why she'd spent over four hours shopping for a bathing suit for the occassion.
"Don't be silly. You're doing enough being my guide, I can cover the costs. That said did you bring a tent, or should I buy one and bring it along?" What did one even look for when buying a tent? How was one better than the other? Her clothing were already packed.. her most important toiletries.. and she had grand plans to whip up some nice food to bring for him last minute. Surely he couldn't be eating that great up there in that cabin by himself.
"Well atleast that gives us plenty of time for you to show me things" Though with their luck something would suddenly come up on thursday and steal all his time away.

"Trust me I only wear it when I have to." He replied to the laughter, it was pretty funny even though he thought it looked horrible.
"You sure?" He paused, did he even bring... oh damn. "I forgot the tent." He rubbed the bridge of his nose, "There's a camping store in the mall." He said trying to think of the name, "Anyways you can't miss it, it has all sorts of rocky and outdoorsy looking stuff and a fish tank, it's pretty big. Go there and once you find the camping department tell them my name they should have one up there for me. I had to order one." He added with a pause, "I forgot to make Zia stop by and pick it up on our way up here, granted she was texting the whole damn time." He had moved and was sitting on the desk by now.
"Yes, we should have plenty of time to kill. I don't really expect anything to come up, short of a rainstorm." He looked at the battery operated radio with a frown. He should try to find the weather report on that later. It'd be better than being trapped in a rainstorm, out in a tent. Even though he didn't really expect it to rain.

"Camping store?" For a moment her face scrunched, the idea of having to try and find a tent that would meet his high standards was daunting. A sigh of relief might have even been heard when he said he'd ordered one and she only needed to pick it up. That would be easy enough to do on the way. The mall was near the necessary highways anyway. "That shouldn't be a problem then, I'll make sure it get it. Is there anything else you need or would like now that you've been stuck there awhile?"
Her words trailed softly as she pieced together his words, settling on the ever important 'her'. He'd gotten a ride up from some woman? She brushed the thought away, reassuring herself that it was some older woman. Someone in her thirties or fourties that worked at the camp.
"Hopefully it won't, but even if it rains I'm sure we can find something to do." Her words were innocent, like she was. Hardly aware of the jokes and induendo that many might have made from her words.

"Yeah you can't miss it." He answered when she asked about the camping store, "I think it has an entrance to it from the outside of the mall." He paused to think about the question, "Some stuff to make decent pancakes with would be nice. Including chocolate chips and other spices for them? We have a fridge. He added with a nod. Not that Zia's pancakes weren't good, but they weren't like he was use to having. "Oh and uh either fireside popcorn, that jiffy pop stuff or stuff to make cinnamon rolls? If you want to that is..."
Azzo loved when someone could cook and make food that was like home. Granted Zia could cook, not like Grams or Aurora but still it was food and not what the campers were eating. He seemed to ponder, of course Aurora would probably have a duck when she actually seen the lady that Azzo had gotten a ride from wasn't much older than him.
"I'm sure we can. It'd just suck for it to rain on your first day here." He said with a nod looking at the clock. "How's packing going anyways?"

"I hope it's okay I have about three bags then" She laughed a little, making a mental note in her head of the things he asked for. She could have asked if he wanted mixes or fresh ingredents but she figured she'd just wait and see what was easiest to travel.
Out of routine she nodded softly to his words, smiling a little little when she realized that he of course couldn't see the answer. "My packing is fine, I'm almost done actually."
"It'll be nice to get out of here for a little while.. it's beginning to look like a hosptial room.. all white and sterile" It was one of the issues of being so on the ball. She wasn't scheduled to move still for another week or two and yet she'd already packed like.. everything other then her bed and necessities. It made the room seem cold and surreal... But it didn't matter, soon enough she'd be surrounded in woods and wilderness instead of stark white walls. "Before I come down I have to make my final selection and put in my down payment for my apartment. Sooo.. lots of fun adult stuff huh?" There was a little exasperation in her voice. It was rough doing all this new stuff alone.. with no family nearby to help and him off doing his summer stuff.

Azzo nooded, 'Mmhmm, yeah three bags is probably less than Zia brought. I think she had a full makeup store with her." He rolled his eyes. "You guys don't really need that much makeup out in the woods do you?" He asked hoping she wouldn't bring that much. Granted they had a lot of food too, it just wasn't that great.
"Oh that's good. Sorry I wasn't able to help, if there's stuff when I get back I'll help then." He promised with a nod.
"I bet it is, maybe your next place will have a little color." He hummed hopefully, "And yeah lots of fun adult stuff. I still get to bum with grams." He chuckled with a stretch, "I'll probably try to find something to do with the rest of the summer in the city."
He pondered, "So Wednesday, Oh yeah you need the address." He added before asking if she had a pencil and paper so she could write it down before giving it to her. "I may try to see if there's a little store out here a ways. I haven't seen one yet but there's bound to be one."
