It was another day like any other, Sammy had cleaned up the dorm room, sent a few text to Siddie to see what she was up too, lamented Shehk leaving for break soon and the same general stuff. Oh and exams were coming up, but she wasn't all that worried about it. Honestly, she studied! A little...

None the less she was rolling through the first floor of the demon dorms about to head out, as such she was about to pass near a currently missing sloth demons room. It took her a minute to notice him, the Kelpie boil, Calder, right? Yeah that was him, the same boil Riley nearly throttled in fitness club.

"What brings you here Kelpie? You don't plan on bothering Riley now do you? It's been quiet in the demon dorms for a few days it's nice to keep it that way."

Calder had been hanging out at Barth's place when he was bored, lonely, or in need of a good nap. It also helped that the scent of Barth made him think of warm laundry and all the times they napped together, which really helped when you had trouble sleeping.

Yawning, Calder was shutting the door to the boil's dorm after a good rest when he bumped into an undead ghoul. At least, she looked undead. Being in the demon dorms made him unsure who he was dealing with. Whoever it was, it seemed his reputation with Riley had proceeded him, and he perked at the accusation he was here to start anything. "I don't come here for her. I have friends here." To which he jerked a thumb at Barth's door. "I don't plan my schedule around her."

Why was Calder coming out of a demon room for that matter? It really wasn't any of her business much more then it was for anyone to question why she was always coming from the demon dorms. Though in her case she actually lived here so that made it okay to be floating around all the time. Standing infront of Calder now she glanced to the door and back at Calder, it wasn't Riley's room, but it wasn't far either.

"You mean that sleepy headed Sloth Demon? Barth right? Runs nap club? Probably cheated his way through the paintball event..." Suddenly she paused. No she knew Calder from more then that run in. He was playing on NAP's team during the paintball match! "You're that guy I shot during the match too..." She frowned crossing her arms tilting her head, "Why did you show up to fitness then go play for NAP did Riley really scare you that bad?" She paused for a moment, "And judging by how she acted, it's probably in your best interest TO schedual around her... Jack knows what she might do if she catches you in this hall alone..."

On one hand HE WAS THE NAP CLUB ENEMY, on the other, she really didn't want Riley in trouble for trying to strangle him in the hallways when no one was looking.

He didn't now WHO this undead ghoul was, but to speak about him and his friends as if she knew ANYTHING about them sent his meter right to pissed. "BARTH DID NOT CHEAT! He's a good person, and a friend of mine. Frankly, he's too tired to put that much effort into cheating. WE won, fair and square. Don't be all sore about it because we didn't need fancy equipment or training to do so. We got raw talent." He spat at her, glaring daggers with eyes that seethed into dark, murky green colors. It was his eyes that were the focus of his fear ability and though he wasn't using Lure of her, he wasn't showing off any rays of glee to see her.

"And I'm not afraid of Riley. She just threw a hissy fit because despite being a captain of a club, she didn't want to give everyone an equal opportunity to join. Probably afraid I'd kick her a**." He stepped closer to her. "Don't even start underestimating me. She has enough little dogs yipping at her heels. I don't need to deal with another member of her fan club."

Calder said all these words in an even, seething tone, very aware that Riley was right next door. He was TRYING to change his demenor aroudn her, but punks like this ghoul were not helping him. It was probably best if he moved away from this door.

Calder turned, flicking his hair with a little 'hmph', and started to walk in the hallway away from the demoness' dorm room. Best to get out of hearing or mental hearing range.

Sammy narrowed her eyes very closely, "Yeah he just got to ride around on a skateboard, that seems very fair...." Still the pillow headed demon had been on the island with them and while a bit slow and sluggish he didn't exactly cause her grief then, or anyone for that matter. He just sort of... existed? Still the little kelpie went and spat at her, behind her yellowed eyes a fire seemed to spark. If his eyes showed FEAR, the way Sammy clenched her fleshless left fist was her own display, a slight air of something around it changing, like FEAR was making up for the lack of everything else around it.

"You kick her a**? Please. You couldn't on a bad day, and you couldn't even beat me on a bad day either, I lit you up like an ugly little Christmas tree." Even as Calder started away Sammy followed after reaching out to spin the Kelpie around with her left hand, for a pair of bones it was very cold against his shoulder.

"Fan club? Your little sloth buddy was part of the reason I found my ghoulfriend sobbing in the showers. How about we not worry about who my friends are right now and worry about what yours did maybe huh?" This was indeed true, poor Siddie had broken down after the match about everything, Barth quit literally pulled the trigger that lead to Siddie breaking down finally.

Her eyes narrowed again locking in on the kelpie, "And if you spit one more time at me like that you little smart-a**." Yes she emphasized the 'a**' part, little kelpie-donkey. "I'll knock you clear into next week faster then Riley or your little buddy can even blink."

Calder didn't like being spun around. It not only hurt his legs, which weren't made for spinning, but it bothered him to be approached from behind. As if to drive his annoyance home, she called him an a**, a term that widened his eyes and had him digging his hooves into the ground as if ready to charge into her. "BARTH BARELY MOVES! He's lazy and needed the skateboard or else we wouldn't have had enough people to even play the game. He wasn't even wearing anything really protective and probably wasn't even wake. Don't get upset because he has good aim." This ghoul was making it VERY hard not to pummel her into the ground.

"And those were stupid toy guns. If you want to fight, fight me with your own strength. Doing this..." He lifted his hand to curl his finger and demonstrate pulling a trigger. "...isn't fighting!" It was just pointing a gun and clicking a button. Something he was TERRIBLE at.

"I don't even KNOW why you're ghoulfriend is upset. If she broke up with him, then get mad at him." Way to misdirect anger, but she was bringing it up.

At last, he smacked her hand from his shoulder and pointed barely an inch from her face. "...and call me an a**, and I'll rip off your arm and feed it to the fishes."

So much for his new goal of being a well-behaved, good mannered kelpie.

"Well then why is he agreeing to a paintball match if he can't be assed enough to actually fight on his own two feet so he just rolls around on a Jack-damn skateboard!" Tempers were clearly growing, and what ever sympathy Sammy had for the Kelpie upsetting Riley was drying up faster then a puddle in a desert. At once his hand was in the air gesturing like a gun, a sneer crossed her lips at the whole thing.

"Personal strength? Be my guest go ahead, do you know how many fights I've had and walked away from? You don't even want to try that."

As if on cue though, Calder would give her more reasons to see the idea of fighting him through. He brought up Siddie. "Why would Siddie date a sleepy-headed demon loaf like that?! You don't know a thing about her!" Well duh he just admitted that, but a ghoul upset over her ghoulfriend being upset? Rationality was the last thing any ghoul would have.

Suddenly her hand was flicked aside as if nothing at all had happened. Her eyes narrowed down and she leaned in closer to the imposing finger.

"a**."

So much for keeping the demon dorms quiet.

What was with ghouls pissing him off this month?!!! First there was that ghouls ghoul and now this ghoul? Did he just give off a b***h target at the moment? If he hadn't heard that this ghoul had a ghoul friend, he might have thought she was upset he might be competition on her man, but that wasn't the case at all. She was angry over something BARTH did. He might have let her go on complaining about just that, but Barth was his friend and Calder, having very few, stuck up for his friends when someone was speaking ill of them without them bearing around to defense their honor. However, she was now targeting him, and things just got personal.

You did not call a kelpie an a**. It was a rule. It was a fact. It was someone that would get your head ripped off in an instant.

It might have been a good thing she was already dead.

He did try to keep composure. For a split second, he remembered what Sarias said in his dorm about how easily he broke from his good image to become the vicious animal that was made for ripping things apart, and he wondered if there was truth to that. Wondering stopped through once he had been insulted, and pride for who he was and his kind took the forefront. He had grounds now.

He turned a hip and went out for kicking the ghoul. Nope. He didn't grow up in a culture that said hitting a ghoul was bad. In fact, both mares and stallions fought. Equal opportunity to get your a** kicked.

Rationality was not on the top of Sammy's list today, the reason why could not be pinpointed, but it didn't help that Calder was deffending someone she disliked, while hating someone she was friends with. Really it all clashed together a bit harshly. In reality the two weren't too horribly different, both wanted to defend their friends, in this case one of them was just a bit to over zealous and took it to the point of attacking the other one.

Now, Sammy didn't know much about Kelpies, but she did know a horse was a horse, and an a** was what you called a horse you wanted to mock. Granted horses didn't understand that, but horse related demons, monsters, and other assorted creatures with sentient thought usually took offense to it.

In this case the offense came in the form of a kick.

Instinct was still instinct and even if the Kelpie had the surprise Sammy was able to shift to her right bringing her leg up to take the kick, though she did catch a good bit of hoof from it. Note to self: Hooves hurt more then normal kicks, dodge next time maybe?

"Ahhh so the kelpie has a bit of bite to it? Strike a cord with the a** comment?" With that said she stepped forward leaving the Kelpie less room to kick, fists up with her left one of bone snapping out at his face.

If one thing could be said about this Kelpie, she did admire his fire. It had been a bit to long since she had an excuse to wail on another student in the demon dorms.

While Sammy learned that hooves hurt a tad bit more than some soft sneaker, Calder learned that a hand of bone hurt like Jack against the jaw. Sammy's fist hit home and he slammed back into a nearby wall, cupping his cheek with one hand and shaking off the first seconds of being stunned. THAT didn't improve his temper. Now usually Calder didn't fight. Kelpies took a different direction with their own fights. Most were for show, as their appearance and their eye tricks were what did the most damage. Throwing a fist wasn't in him, but he knew how to buck and kick. If he had been in his other form, he could rise up and start throwing out his front hooves, but as it was, he only dropped his hands to press against the wall to get some leverage and then hiked up and leg and kicked it out again, trying to push her back and away. If he could shatter a bone or pop off one of her legs, he'd have the advantage. It was that or he'd have to tackle her and bite off something.

He really needed more fighting lessons.

"Keep talking like that and I'll really show you what sort of bite I have!" He could probably take off an ear or maybe a chunk from her shoulder but undead flesh was...ewwwww.

As Calder bounced away against the wall Sammy made a good show of shaking out her hand from the blow blowing it off with a smirk. Fighting was her pride and joy like Malodore loved his doctors work, or Barth in avoiding any and all activity. She loved it, she excels in it. Now what she didn't quite expect was how hard a Kelpie could kick outside of it's natural form. Sure it wasn't on all four hooves bucking, but the moment he hiked up a leg and kicked her square in the chest she realized the term 'don't look a gift horse in the mouth' also applied to 'don't lower your guard to a kelpie backed up against a wall.'

Stumbling back she bounced off a wall herself before giving a deep wheeze, great he might have screwed up one of her lungs again. Well at least breathing wasn't important but the whole air thing helped with speaking.

"Yeah, yea, biting, go chew a carrot you prissy little pony." Setting herself up again she raised both her arms again, let him try another kick, she would be ready this time.

"C'mon then." She growled, slightly off this time since her lungs where still rattled under her rib cage. "Gimi one more good shot. See if the little a** lassy can finish the job huh?" Of course she was coaxing him on, the question was would he take the bait?
PostPosted: Sun Jul 10, 2011 8:25 pm

While most would assume that something as pretty at a kelpie couldn't fight, his kind had fought for territory a lot. Most was just show, but with all the manual labor and a good few brawls over laying claim on some lass or laddy, a good many of them knew how to fight. Now the key question was did Calder know how?

No.

No he did not. In all the battles he had been involved in, he usually wound up doing more harm than good. He wasn't strained, wasn't experienced, and had no advice whatsoever in that field of study. It all came down to raw instinct and dumb luck, and he wasn't the luckiest chap either.

The bait was received without question or giving a thought that this could be a tactic against him, and he leaned down this time, pressing his fingertips on the ground and hiking his bottom up. A firm stance for charging. Hooves could kick and hooves could give him the power to charge. Sizing her up, he pushed off and aimed for her midsection, hoping to try and lift her up and over his shoulder to flip her over his back. That would smart.

Swords, fits, boots, all kinds of things Sammy had handled in a fight before. Calder was clearly playing from a different play book in this case. Instead of coming at her proper fists up or feet lashing out again the boy crouched down like he was about to start a play of bruteball...

Instead of the glorious tackle and flip Calder expected Sammy would instead give him only confusion as she dropped her hands, his lower charge being met with her hands on his lower back...

... as she leapfrogged over top him?

The end result for Calder wouldn't be all that fun considering he tried to bull rush her in a dorm hallway, the sound was sure enough to get someones attention as the poor boil crashed into the wall. He would probably be seeing more stars and sparkles then usual over the next few minutes.

Without missing a beat Sammy started back off down the hall, "I think that's enough fun for today...." before turning heel and picking up the pace to get out the door before anyone spotted her leaving poor Calder behind.

There was a split second where Calder felt hands on his back and just as he thought he might push her over his back, she jumped on her own free will and leaped over him. That was when he noticed that this had not been a good idea, and noticed the wall rushing up to him. The blow to the head knocked him clean back and he stumbled and fell right on his butt. Lights and darks and swirling colors of pain spiraled in his vision as he curled in and covered his head with both arms, wincing as he worked through the pain. Not fun. Not fun at all!

Somewhere in the world of throbbing headaches, he heard the ghoul walk off with nothing more but a few words. Left alone, he started to whine before leaning forward into a ball and muttering swears under his breath. That was going to leave a big bump and bruise for sure!

It would take a while before he got back up to his feet and went to get some ice for his head.
