Well, this was just fantastic.
Ganymede stared down the youma, his brain racing as he attempted to come up with the appropriate reaction. Running was unlikely to get him anywhere; it never had before. It’d be nice if he had something to bludgeon the thing with. He’d look around for something to use, but he didn’t want to take his eyes off of it and give it the chance to pounce. For the moment, it stood a few yards away, staring back at him. Ganymede couldn’t tell if it was waiting for him to make the first move – why would it do that when it could just come after him itself? – or if it was busy plotting how it wanted to take care of him.
This was what he got for wandering around the city by himself. It was his own fault, really, for not bothering to encourage friendly relations between himself and others like him, but he didn’t want to do this in the first place, so he didn’t see much of a point in trying.
He hadn’t been “patrolling” so much as wandering around and seeing what he could find, feeling obligated but still questioning his place in all of this. Naturally, he’d found this thing. Ugly and gross and barbaric looking. He’d use his magic if he actually liked relying on things like that, but he didn’t find it to be very useful. Which left him with few other options except to wait and see what the youma did, and improvise from there.
And so he stared, unblinking, his mind racing to come up with the appropriate response.

He was a lot more cautious as he went about the city at night, especially after a few unfortunate run-ins with various unwelcoming people. He had been please to find out that, as a knight, he healed a lot faster than he would have before being powered. The cut across his left shoulder was all but gone, just a fading scar below the fur on his outfit. Of course, that had also been a few weeks ago... But if he hadn't been Valhalla, he was sure it would have taken well over a month to heal both the muscle and skin that had been damaged. Now? He felt good as new.
Even still, he wasn't one for running around all dressed up. Yes, he'd sort of been explained patrolling and where the 'hot spots' were, but he also didn't want to draw attention to himself with his... apparently strange energy signal.
But for now, he was Valhalla, having felt a monster nearby as he left the gym to go home. It wasn't too late at night, but obviously late enough for monsters to be out and about. Of course, when he went down the alley to see if he could catch a glimpse of it (and then figure out what to do without a weapon), he hadn't expected to be greeted with the sight that awaited him. From the back, it looked like a girl with a long skirt, her hair curly and topped with a small top hat, but she was also fashioning a sailor collar and a bow stuck to the top of the skirt.
A senshi...?
On the other side of her, though, was the monster he'd been looking for, looking much like a mutated turkey with an animalistic face in replace of a beak. And probably plenty of teeth hidden.
Well, s**t... now what?

He didn't want to tear his eyes away, but another presence soon gained his attention and Ganymede couldn't stop himself from glancing over to look. He was wary of other people and didn't like to be found if he could help it. Kallichore and Europa had both managed it. He'd like it to stop there until he was a bit more comfortable with what he was doing, but it didn't seem as if that was going to happen.
There, in the mouth of an alley, stood... something. A young man in green and brown. And... fur? Wasn't he hot in those boots? And what the hell was he anyway? He looked like some sort of viking warrior, but he didn't feel dangerous, though Ganymede wouldn't be so quick to assume he wasn't some other sort of enemy. He didn't claim to know everything that went on in this city. Sadly, he was actually pretty uninformed.
Naturally, the youma took his distraction -- brief as it was -- as its opportunity to attack. It let out a mixture between a shriek and a growl and launched itself at him with its long talons extended.
"s**t!" Ganymede cursed and jumped out of the way, barely dodging the rabid swipe the youma took at him as he hopped backwards to put some distance between them.
"Are you just going to stand there and watch or are you going to make yourself useful?" he asked the young man who'd disturbed him. He probably didn't sound very friendly, but then this wasn't the sort of situation he liked to be in.

Valhalla stared at the senshi for just as long as she looked at him, then the youma attacked and she jumped out of the way. Well, s**t... He scrambled to get out of the way, quickly looking around for something to use as a weapon.
"Sorry!" he quickly apologized, jumping to the side as the youma charged for him when it missed the senshi, before he climbed up on top of one of the nearby dumpsters. Hopefully that would keep himself out of the way long enough to figure out something to hit it with. The youma, though, didn't seem to want to wait, and flapped its deformed wings as it made a lunge for his legs, although a good kick to its face seemed to have it changing its mind about attacking him.
It let out an angry screech as it stumbled backwards and shook itself off, before turning back to the senshi to attack.
"Hey! Look out, it's coming towards you!" he called to her, hoping she was going to, you know, do something, too. "Don't you have magic??" he sputtered, having not seen much senshi action, but... they all had magic, right?? Maybe??

Ganymede watched as the man jumped around while the youma charged. Did he even have any idea what he was doing?
Er... not that Ganymede had much room to talk, but whoever this guy was didn't seem as if he had much of a game plan.
"Thanks!" he shouted back in response to the warning. "I can kind of see that on my own!" He took another few steps back but knew he wouldn't get very far, merely trying to stall as he looked around for something to use as well. If he had to run into someone else tonight, couldn't it at least be someone with more of a clue?
"My magic's pretty unhelpful unless you've got something to hit it with while it's distracted," he said.
Though it didn't seem as if they had much of a choice. The twenty seconds it would take for the youma to come back to its senses might just afford them the opportunity to grab something and give it a good whack. Rolling his eyes as he heaved a sigh, Ganymede muttered the necessary words to put his magic into effect, "Sweet Seduction."
The youma paused, blinked, and then seemed to sniff at the air.
"Alright, Wonder Boy," he began again, glancing over at his unnamed companion. "It's your turn."

Hey!! He was new at this! It wasn't his fault that he didn't really know what he was doing! At least he was trying, right? And he didn't power up in front of the senshi which... was actually the first... huh...
"Sorry!!" he apologized again, feeling like he should just... stop talking and just focus on fighting this monster. Valhalla frowned as he listened to the senshi's comment about her magic, although he quickly started looking around for something to hit it with. He could be helpful! See??
Although, when she did end up using her magic, he couldn't help but stare curiously. "What did you do?" he wondered, frowning at the 'Wonder Boy' comment, but still watching the youma curiously. It didn't look as though she actually touched it or... did anything to it besides make it stop.
Whatever... he could still do this, right? He jumped down from the dumpster, looking around for something he could use and eventually picked up what looked like a broken table leg. He gripped onto it, before running at the monster, swinging hard at its face once he was close enough.
Of course, all that seemed to do was piss it off, and it let out an angry screech as it stumbled to the side. Well... crap.

Ganymede shrugged at the man's question, keeping his eyes on the youma as it continued to sniff around. "Made it smell something. I don't know what, so don't ask. It's different for everyone." Part of him almost wanted to use it on as many people as possible, just to see what they would smell, but now was not the time to try.
He stood back as his companion struck the monster, not all that pleased that the youma now seemed quite angry, but at least the guy had gotten a good hit in. "Nice swing," he commented. "Can you do that again?"
Ganymede made his way over to the alley to find something to help, though there wasn't much, just a large dumpster overflowing with trash, the rest of the table to wooden leg had come from, and a broken beer bottle. He considered his options before going for the bottle, grabbing it by the neck, which was luckily still attached to a long, sharp sliver of green glass.
"Alright, Ugly, hold still," he said, approaching the youma again. It seemed quite distracted by the other young man, perhaps a bit disoriented from the swing to its face, as it wasn't lunging around quite as gracefully as before. It swiped with its talons and missed, stumbling to the side with another angry shriek.
Ganymede whistled to try and gets its attention. "Yoo hoo~! Over here!"
It turned to him and took a few unbalanced steps toward. Ganymede allowed himself to smile a bit in satisfaction, waited for just the right moment, and then surged forward to plunge the broken bottle into its feathered chest.

"Thanks," Valhalla replied, taking a step back as the monster flailed around and got back up. Yeah, he'd try to hit it again if it got close enough. Of course it seemed a bit stunned at the moment, and Valhalla stepped to the side as the senshi came forward to stab it with the glass bottle, although he had the table leg ready to hit it again if he needed to.
It burst into a cloud of dust and Valhalla was left coughing lightly, waving at the air to clear away the youma remnants from his breathing area. Well, that was a lot easier than the last youma he fought.
"Thanks," he said, glancing over at the senshi, wanting to get a good look at her now that the threat of being eaten by a youma was gone. Damn, she had nice legs. It was a little difficult to see everything in the dark, but she definitely had nice legs. Nice ankles, nice claves... Especially since she was wearing heels. She had to hit at least a ten if not eleven... and damn, her skirt was all but non-existant in the front. Valhalla's eyes wandered up to her thighs and a little higher... before his eyes widened just slightly and he took a step back, flushing in embarrassment.
Holy hell, she was a he?? Well, that was awkward...
"Ah! I-I'm Valhalla!" he stuttered lamely, awkwardly shifting in place as he looked over the other boy, feeling quite dumb for thinking he was a she at first. Not that it was entirely his fault! It was dark and... yeah... "Uh... i-interesting outfit you got..."
Lame a**...

He let go of the bottle neck as soon as the youma was gone, not really carrying that it simply fell through the cloud of dust and shattered further on the ground. He stepped back to avoid any of the splintered shards and waved the dust away, feeling a bit pleased with himself for once. Then again, he preferred fighting youma to actual people. Killing an ugly monster was a bit different than shedding blood.
Ganymede looked back at the... whatever he was and immediately noticed the path his eyes were taking. He stood and waited for the ever-so-predictable reaction, propping his hands onto his hips and adopting a rather unimpressed expression. Well... now that that was out of the way...
"'Valhalla'..." he repeated, ignoring the comment about his outfit. A lot of people had interesting ones; his just happened to be interesting in a different way.
He didn't bother to keep his eyes from wandering as well, starting much the same Valhalla had -- low, before working his way up. He looked pretty fit. Nice, strong arms. Probably why he swung so well. Actually, now that he could take the time to look a bit closer, this Valhalla person was nice on the eyes. Very handsome. Not big and burly like he imagined a real viking would have been, but tall and broad enough to where he could have been intimidating if the expression on his face had been darker and less... open. Instead, his awkwardness made him look a little dopey.
But what, exactly, was he supposed to be?
"You're not... one of us..." he observed, and then quickly corrected himself. "I mean, you're not like me. What are you?"

Sorry!! He'd been expecting a girl!! He didn't think he'd be ogling over a really pretty boy instead of a really pretty girl. Jeez... give him a break.
Valhalla blinked at the senshi, before glancing over his shoulder as a car drove by and he stepped further into the alley so they were out of any direct line of sight from passersby. Although, he would hope that a lot of people would avoid the alleys. He glanced the senshi over when he was closer, although making sure to get a good look at his face. Once he knew who their civilian identity was he never understood why he hadn't recognized them as their powered identity...
Of course... that might have to do with the whole... magic thing... Er, but this senshi didn't seem all that keen about giving out his identity...
"A senshi, you mean? No... I'm a knight... page of Jupiter, to be exact..." he said, the title he had known since he'd first awakened pushing to the forefront of his mind as he introduced himself further. "Apparently we're newer to this whole... thing... I've gotten the same reaction from others before, too..." About... them not knowing what he was... He didn't mind, though. It was kind of cool being a part of something new in what has been going on for... what...? A couple years? It made him think that maybe they really were there to make a difference.

"Jupiter..." he parroted again. Not the most eloquent conversation he'd ever had, but he was a bit surprised that there was apparently another group of people running around the city, and that he'd said that name in particular.
He'd seen Jupiter before. Well, he'd seen it in the sky above Europa.
He hadn't really understood Kallichore's need to seek him out specifically because they were both moons of Jupiter, but now that he'd met yet another person from the area... he wondered if there might be some meaning to it, after all. Under normal circumstances, he might not have revealed his name to anyone not obviously on his side of this battle -- what were these knights fighting for and where did they come to play in all of this? -- but hearing "Jupiter" of all things somehow made him feel less suspicious. He still didn't trust him, but he could at least afford him the pleasure of knowing to whom he was speaking.
"I'm Ganymede," he revealed, removing his hands from his hips to let them hang by his sides, at least for the moment. "That's a moon of Jupiter, if you didn't know. So I guess you and I have the big Jove in common, if nothing else. You must be pretty new. Europa and Kallichore didn't mention you at all," he said, looking him over again. "They're other senshi, in case you were wondering. Other moons of Jupiter. I'm sure you'll meet them one day. Kallichore is especially... nosy," he told him, choosing not to use the word "stalker," even though that was the first thing that came to mind.

Valhalla shifted awkwardly in place, reaching down to fidget with the compass he had tied to his belt with the chain it was on. He still couldn't tell if it was broken or just... slow... Not that he looked down at it to see which direction was north. That would just be rude... But he liked holding onto it while trying to figure out what to do.
He did look the senshi over, more curiously than before, once he found out that he was named after one of the Jovian moons. "Oh? Really?" he asked, although more to himself than to the pretty boy in the skirt. Not that there weren't others with really strange outfits... but... yeah...
"Yeah, it's the biggest moon in the solar system, isn't it?" he wondered, not knowing for certain, but he was pretty sure. At least if he remembered a presentation one of his classmates did of the moons of the solar system correctly. Valhalla was also surprised to hear that Ganymede knew Kallichore, although he didn't really know what to think of her. She was... different, at least...
"I met Kallichore a little while ago..." he told him, trying to remember the conversation they'd had, but he'd been in a bit of shock and was worn out at that point in time, so he was drawing a blank for a lot of it. "Have you, uh... been doing this for long?" he asked, although he had to wonder if it was safe for them to just... chat like this. Maybe he should power down...? No... he was trying to keep his identity secret... for the most part...

Yeah, no. He would not be powering down in front of anyone, ever. Thanks.
"Well, you know what they say about big moons..." he began, before deciding the joke wasn't worth it. It wasn't very funny anyway. "Kidding. But it is. Or so I've read. I've never been."
Yet. He figured he would, one day. His trip to Europa had given him a lot to think about. The next step was to go to his own moon. He just had to work up the courage to do it. It was a bit of a frightening prospect.
Returning to the conversation, Ganymede shook his head. "Maybe four months, tops. There are a lot more people who've been doing it a lot longer. I'm still getting used to it all." Or trying to. He wasn't sure how well it was going. "Longer than you, at least," he observed.
He wasn't sure what else to say. He hadn't spoken with very many of his kind, and while the knight or page or whatever he was was intriguing, Ganymede didn't think he should let the conversation go on for too long. He was still wary. Knowing Valhalla was from Jupiter made him feel a bit more comfortable around him, but only just. He'd rather not get in too deep with someone he didn't know and whose purpose he was unaware of.
"I suppose I'll see you around," he said. Now that the youma was taken care of, he didn't see any point in lingering. He'd rather not set himself up to deal with another one tonight, or anything worse. "Try not to run into any more of those things, at least not on your own. Something tells me you'd have a hard time getting rid of it yourself."

Er, he wasn't really sure what people said about big moons, but... he could tell that Ganymede had been trying to joke. He would have liked to ask him what he meant by 'neve been' since he made it sounds as though it was possible to go to the moon... but... that was impossible, right?? No one could actually go to a moon, at least not unless they were in a space ship for ever and ever...?
Valhalla frowned, not thinking he was that horrible. "Well, if you only had a compass to throw at things, you wouldn't do too well, yourself," he said, wondering if that was true or if he just... sucked... "But yeah, see you..."
Well... that was a short meeting, but he could understand not wanting to linger. They'd done what they could to get rid of the monster, so... their job was done, right...? He still couldn't believe that he'd actually stared at his legs for as long as he had...
Maybe he had a problem? A leg problem... was that possible? Either way... Ganymede did have nice legs... no denying that...
The knight lifted his hand in a 'good-bye' gesture, before turning to head back towards home. Yeah... he really would rather not run into anything else nasty... or worse...

Ganymede smirked in response to Valhalla's comment. Poor thing was probably in over his head more than he was, and that was saying something. Well, neither of them were dead yet, so they must be doing something right.
"Catch you later, Val," he said and he turned to go, lifting his hand in a little wave as well. The meeting had been short, yes, but he preferred things that way. Less time to become too invested in something. He appreciated the knight's helped, and he was still curious about him and what this new class of people was around for, but he had no intention of treating this as anything more than business.
He'd like to keep his two lives separate for as long as he possibly could.
He glanced over his shoulder to watch Valhalla turn a corner, just to make sure he really was going, before heading down another dark street and heading home. He thought he'd had enough for one night.
