It was technically night time.

The sun had set, the sky was dark, the moon and stars twinkled overhead. Thus, it also meant that the lake was closed, but Eve couldn't shake off this nagging feeling that some kids might decide to, or even be dared to, sneak down to the area of her responsibility. And she took her responsibilities very seriously, channeling Sailor Flora's attitude towards youma into Lifeguard Eve's attitude towards kids in danger of drowning. It was kind of silly, she knew, because a part of her was relaxing back into her carefree attitude and she liked it.

But it wouldn't hurt to go down to take a peek, right? She just wanted to make sure the kids were safe.

And so, she had slipped out of her cabin, a jacket thrown over her camp T-shirt and shorts. Hopefully, the kids were all safe in their cabins. But was it her imagination or was there some splashing coming from the lake?

The Senior Counselor quickened her pace, hoping it was some silly ducks, or something like that. What she didn't expect was to see a familiar pink-haired figure and Eve froze. "C-coralie?"

Allie paused, shampoo bottle halfway tipped over her head as fingers tightened around it and lowered. All six feet of her cotton-candy pink hair were floating in the cool nighttime water of the lake like glory. She had been trying to splash as little as possible! And hadn't her father warned her that she should be sure to wash her hair extra-carefully before going off to camp? But no, she hadn't listened and had instead gone out for one last patrol before leaving town for two weeks.

The showers here were too weak to wash all of her hair at once. So she was down at the lake, bottle in hand, towels not far, and had been caught. But the voice was familiar and ruby eyes turned to shore. "Eve!" Her voice was a hissing whisper. "Please! Don't be too loud." They both knew she wasn't supposed to be out here.

But what was Chronos' springtime handmaiden going to do about it?

"What are you doing?" Eve dropped her voice to a low whisper as she neared the lake, wondering if she should step in. Evidently, Coralie didn't want to be caught, and even though she technically now was, Eve didn't think that it was right for her to alert anyone else. Besides, Coralie was a Princess and she was related to Serenade of sorts. And she could always make an exception for Serenade.

Blue eyes drifted to the long mane of pink hair in the water and Eve bit her lip. The longest her hair had ever gotten was perhaps an inch above her elbow, when she was just a child, but once she held the decision in her hands, her hair had been around the length it was now. And thus, it was unfathomable to her how much care one had to put into that much hair.

"You shouldn't be here. It's dangerous." She told Coralie with a frown. "Are the others hogging the showers or something?"

Dropping the bottle so that it floated harmlessly in the lake Coralie moved to gather her hair back towards her in gentle sweeping motions. It would have been beyond incredibly rude to simply wash her hair while Eve was trying to talk to her and if the job was only half-finished it would look even more terrible than if she hadn't tried to wash it at all. It was such a problem!

"No. Aitana told me she can help and can try but the floor!" There was a world of misery in that last word and she explained morosely. "It is sticky. There is a lot of dirt but there is no place to put my hair when I am washing it. I have to put it on the floor and it is dirty then!" She could have had someone stand outside of the curtain and feed her hair into her like an assembly line but that took over an hour and was, frankly, embarrassing.

"If I go to the lake there is no floor. I can wash it all fast and then it is clean! I am going to make Aitana braid it so it does not get very dirty and I can wash the braid easy." Already without looking she was plaiting one sodden strand of hair together almost as a demonstration. The days of her terrible English weren't too far behind, motions to go with her words were still somewhat common.

Eve blanched at the thought of hair brushing filthy bathroom floors. It was true; she had checked out the cabins and the bathrooms before the kids had arrived, and nevertheless to say, it wasn't exactly of the best quality. It wasn't a hotel, of course, but compared to Baneberry, Eve was privately very glad that she was a senior counselor. Wait... that gave her an idea!

"If you'd like, Eve ventured, picking up Coralie's towels on the shore, "we actually have really decent showers down at Baneberry. The floor's not icky at all, I assure you!" There was only one problem with that; she was pretty sure it was Senior Counselor Only. With capital letters.

But as with problems, there were always solutions to it! "I can sneak you in. Pretty sure no one's showering at this hour, and I've got some friends in the cabin, so I can plead with them to overlook it if we get caught." After all, she was very confident in her skills of being persuasive and winning arguments. "Or I could get Seth to guard the door or something. I don't think anyone would want to cross him." As she talked, the blonde girl kicked off her slippers, wading into the water to hand Coralie the towels. "We'll have to be really really sneaky though."

Considering that it was nearly midnight the last time the girl had checked, she rather hoped nobody was crazy enough to try and shower at this time of night. Sure it might be alright in the Senior Counselor's cabin but the real showers? Someone would almost certainly trip and break their neck!

Sodden hair was wrapped around her head almost like a turban before a hat was crammed down over the entire wet mess of it. It made her look thoroughly ridiculous with the Camp Larkspur logo atop it slightly askew but it was better than dragging six feet of bright pink hair through the mud! "I will do anything! Please help, this is very not fun and then I will have the braid." Allie, like all children, had a very effective pair of puppydog eyes. Hers were particularly effective in most situations given the fact that she was short and looked like her entire being had been spun out of sugar.

"I sneak very well. Shadows are a friend." It was a cryptic statement but Coralie didn't think reminding one of Chronos' handmaidens that she had once been someone different entirely, someone who had aided in the theft of her cousin's crystal, would be wise. Especially when she had just offered to do the nicest thing that anyone had done for her in quite awhile.

Stepping out of the water she slid her hand into Eve's trustingly. "I am sneaky."

Really, Eve thought, she didn't really have a good immunity against cute kids. Especially cute younger girls whom she knew meant no harm and were Princesses. Perhaps she herself was Rea and Lucy's weakness, but Eve was now pretty sure that Serenade and Coralie were her weakness. There was nothing she could do about it, and she was perfectly fine leaving it that way. How could anyone say no to a forlorn cotton candy pink-haired girl who had to resort to washing her hair in the lake, of all places?

She was perfectly justified. Eve decided, and smiled at Allie. "Good." With Eve's guidance, they made their way over to Cabin Baneberry. Once they reached the door, Eve popped her head in, making sure no one was in the hallway before motioning for Coralie to follow.

As they made their way over to the bathrooms, Eve prayed that none of the counselors would suddenly decide to embark on Mission: Emergency Toilet Break. And if they did get caught, hopefully, it would be someone like Lucy, or Seth, or Adira.

Eternally grateful, her face looking akin to a girl who has stepped in to Heaven itself, Coralie threw the hat against the wall with a wet slapping sound and all but bounded into the shower stall. Her voice was hushed as the water came cascading out of the faucet in a steady stream, not at all the pithy trickle that the campers had to make do with. "Eve, you are my hero. The very good hero. Oh it is so warm!" A deep sigh echoed in the bathroom and there was a pause.

"Eve. Do you have the bottle?" Her shampoo. Floating in the lake. While she was in the shower.

Did the children have no heaters in their bathrooms? Eve thought. Or was it that compared to the lake, Baneberry's showers were a relief? Either way, she was glad to be of help to Coralie. A hair emergency was a dire emergency indeed! What if something was lurking in the murky waters of the lake while Coralie was washing her hair? She repressed a shudder at the thought. At least the younger girl was now safe...r; the threat of being caught didn't seem as bad as compared to what she had just imagined. And that was only the worst case scenario.

...Oh dear. Eve's eyes snapped up and stared at the towels in her hands. "I don't have it." She replied, and as the realization hit her, she smacked her forehead with her palm. How careless! "I'll sneak down the lake to get it, okay? You should stay here." But what if someone came in while Eve was away, rendering Coralie's defense moot?

Tugging the wet bits of hair into the shower with her, Allie probably looked a bit like the famous painting of Venus emerging from the waters onto the shore of Crete. Certainly the hair wrapped around her body like some kind of covering was humorous, even if Eve would never be so rude as to peek into the shower at the teenager.

"I can stay here! No one will look in the shower and you can come back fast. If not..." A hand reached out of the shower and showed the compact in her fist. "Chibimoon." Nobody was going to be able to yell at a camper that was a senshi standing in the Senior Counselor's bathroom. Truth be told, she didn't especially care if she were caught.

The shower was worth it.

Eve laughed softly, nodding towards the shower stall as the Coralie revealed her 'secret weapon'. "Alright then." It definitely did make her feel more relieved about leaving the teenager alone. Luckily, when she stepped out of the bathroom, no one was about and they wouldn't question her even if they were there. The blonde dashed down to the lake, wading into the water to get the bottle bobbing up and down in the water. Shampoo. There.

On the other hand, she could have probably gotten her own shampoo in the cabin for Coralie, but Adira and Fiona might wonder why she was going to shower at this time of the night. That would have been a bit too much of an elaborate ruse.

Moments later, Eve slipped back into the bathroom, a hand reaching into the shower to hand Coralie the bottle. "Are you alright? No one came by, did they?"

A tiny hand, devoid of glove, shot out of the shower stall and beckoned at the bottle. The water was going cold pretty fast which was going to be rather unfortunate if, for whatever reason, it went cold when there was still soap in her ridiculous mass of hair. The whole point of coming inside was to have clean hair! So it was that Coralie talked while emptying the large bottle onto her head and down the ropey-wet expanse of it all, scrubbing in to make a mile of bubbles.

"Safe and sound! Woah!" A shout and a bit of clatter echoed in the room making Allie wince as she fell against the shower stall. Why did this happen almost every time? She was almost sixteen and should have stopped falling over in the shower somewhere around being eight years old! "Sorry sorry, it is...ah. Slip. Slippery? A lot of wet and soap so I fall." The sound of wet hair could be heard slapping around the box until finally, the water shut off.

Gingerly, Coralie stepped out of the shower, wringing out her hair as she went. It was sitting there, in a wet pile next to her on the floor, eyes looking worshipfully at Eve. "You are the very best. I want to hug you."

"Are you alright?" Eve asked worriedly. She couldn't very well have a Princess hurt on her watch... even if said Princess in question was the one that had accidentally hurt herself.

Thankfully, Coralie seemed pretty okay as she stepped out, and Eve beamed at the younger girl. "Awww, it's no problem, dear. Hugs are good!" With that, she stepped forward, and wrapped her arms around Coralie, squeezing her gently. For a moment, it felt as though she was an older sister to Coralie. The girl was absolutely too adorable for words.
