Someone had set up a TV in the mess hall. A TV! Though despite any of the kid's efforts they wouldn't be able to get anything on it except a really fuzzy channel, that sounded like a foreign soap opera.
A box was sitting not far away it was labeled Forest Ranger. Azzo and Zia were there dressed in their Khaki (Tacky) uniforms and badges pinned to show they were the official... volunteer park rangers. They were both sitting at a table waiting for the kids to come in Azzo was trying to convince Zee not to play with the lighter or she might set a bad example.
Merlin was sitting beside Azzo ears perked and looking around ever direction. Occasionally having to be told by Azzo in some other language to sit, dumb German Shepard, only listening to German voice commands, Azzo thought as she settled back down. Azzo had out the little hand book of German Commands for Dummies in case he needed something that he forgot the the word to, this was obviously going to be fun. Though the leash he had on the dog would keep too much trouble and mischievous stuff from happening.

Zee was sitting with her back leaning against one of the table, flicking her camp lighter on and off... on and off.. just staring in utter boredom. Resume building sucked sometimes, like now, where she was wondering shy she ever thought she'd be any good so far away from civilization.
And in khakis. She still couldn't help trying to doll up the ranger uniform, though. She left her shirt unbuttoned with a much more flattering one on display under it. Matching khaki shorts were under it with the legs rolled up further along with muddied hiking boots from her early morning run seeking out a phone signal or a blip of 3g coverage.
And she still looked sooooo bored. What sort of kids were interested in fire safety anyway? No kids, that's who. And she really wasn't either. So in spite of Azzo's protests she just kept on playing with a look on her face that said she could fall asleep any minute.
"Are you sure bringing him was a good idea?" She asked, glancing up from her little flame to stare at Azzo flipping through the book of commands. "He could've stayed in the fence and run around with Harley and Annabel."

She wasn't exactly sure what the Forest Rangers had to offer. In fact.. they looked fairly stuffy and kind of bored themselves sitting over against the wall with their table.
But nonetheless a certain pup had caught the brazilian's attention as she finished her food, carrying her plates over to the counter in which all their dirty stuff went. She'd had a pet or two in her life, and seen plenty of animals. He was especially nice looking though. Pausing, dirty tray cocked mildly between her hip and arm, she studied them all curiously, before offering a greeting of sorts. "'Allo"
She didn't have to speak, her expression doing all the talking for her. What were they doing here? And was it worthwhile of her attention or not?

Azzo sat up from trying to take Zia's lighter from her, it was dumb for her to have it there. "Hi." He smiled, Merlin had started to get up until her heard a word of disapproval from Azzo who was looking at the white dog.
"Do you know about fire safety? We're about to do a small presentation on it if you'd like to stay and watch?" He offered her a small pamphlet that had a dog on the front and things to do when in a situation were there was fire. "We also have a few videos that help to show things that should and shouldn't be done when there's a fire."
He hadn't really had that much time to rehearse the information so it was give a bit more awkwardly than his normal puppet shows.
------
Istas had just come for some apple slices and a carton of milk when she saw the puppy and someone else she recognized, "Zia!" She called happily bouncing over, watching the other play with the lighter, "How's your dog?"
Obviously the child didn't realize they were suppose to be teaching a course. Though the box that was sitting there marked fire safety didn't escape her, "Do we get a cool fire hat for listening?"

Zia did actually stop and waved at the greenhaired girl when she walked in, and lit up when she saw someone familiar. "Hi, Istas!" She greeted and actually closed the lighter to pay attention to her.
"He's doing just fine. Maybe you can visit him later," She said and then crossed her arms with a shrug. "We have hats! If Azzo remembered to bring them," She said, not able to resist getting at least one petty shot in. She was still carrying that phone grudge.

They were friendly enough so that was good. She smiled mildly to their greetings. Fire safety presentation..? Was that like learning at school? She was a little skeptical.
Istas' appearance drew her attention and she looked down to the little girl curiously. Fire hats huh? As long as it wasn't that long it seemed a good enough consolation. Coralie would surely get a giggle out of that.
"I will listen" She agreed, shuffling her tray lightly. "How soon does it start?"

Azzo pulled out a pocket watch, which seemed to be an odd thing for a park ranger to carry. However, now with Istas distracting Zia he could at least be relieved for a little bit as he attended to others. "In a few minutes, maybe ten at the most, I was hoping we'd have a small crowd at least."
He looked around there had been a few stray faces that settled down to look at the TV wondering what would be played on it. "I don't know if you like coloring books or not but we have those too." He added mainly towards Istas but anyone listening at this point. He was trying to grab interest after all. "And no I didn't forget to bring them Zia. They're in the box with the crayons and coloring books."
---------
Istas smiled at Aitana before giggling at Zia, "Oh he's here?" She asked curiously looking at the older girl with wide eyes, "I've love to visit him. There's a kitty here too, if you guys see her you should feed her, she looks hungry." Istas nodded seriously.
The child looked excited about the fact they had fire hats and coloring books. "OHH! I'll sit and listen, it's not every day you get a fire hat!" She seemed giddy at the thought. Not to mention hats were fun.
Billy the bully had been lurking in a corner watching the 'adults' looking unimpressed at the fact they were teaching fire safety and one of them had a dog with him. He found some things worth throwing at the campers though and was randomly pelting others. Mainly he was using frozen peas and shooting them through a straw, how he managed to actually get those was beyond anyone's knowledge.

It was the dog that snagged Arian's attention first, the bespectacled teen catching sight of it as he finished up with his drink. She? He? Well whatever gender it was, the dog looked cute, and after placing the cup on the dirty-stuff counter the dark haired boy moved over to get a closer look.
The labelled box was the next thing that snagged his attention. Forest Rangers. Come to think of it, he kind of vaguely remembered seeing the two during orientation - the lilac-haired one in particular. Hadn't she'd spoken to that kid asking about internet access? There was a green-haired girl and a kid with curly light blue hair by the table. "Good morning" the greeting was directed at all of them.

She nodded to the time quote and seemingly abruptly wandered off.
She returned within a minute or two however, sans tray and settled in to wait curiously. With as tuckered out as she was getting doing all the physical stuff, something she would NOT admit to out loud, a few minutes of something like this couldn't hurt. And fire safety was kind of important. Who knew when she'd need to run through a burning building or something senshi style?
Coloring books weren't really her style, other then maybe doodling silly things onto the images, so she disregarded them, turning her attention instead to the boy and his greeting. "Hey" She chirped back, lifting a hand in a lazy a** wave.

The soft buzz of the television was the first thing that caught Ridley's attention. She had originally stopped by for a piece of cake, which was by now partially eaten from her walk back outside. So, now she was hovering near the tables, having not sat down and looked around. The tv was forgotten, not being an avid watcher - time spent inside watching television meant less time outside getting messy - but the rest of the set up had her lingering to see what was going on.
Seemed like a fire demonstration was going on, or was about to at least, from the looks of it. The little plastic fire hats probably were the big give-away. There were still people chatting and nothing about fires and there was attention put on the dog. The fork from her cake was left hanging between her lips as her orange eyes did another look over, an not so interested look upon her face as she turned to go. Ridley's father was a fire fighter after all, and there was practically a yearly station family meeting on new tips, tricks and safety protocols.
Though, there was something that caught her eye. Well, someone. Istas. Ridley, still with fork in mouth, walked past and between a few people and tapped the curly haired girl on the shoulder. "I'm going to go pick up some of the crafty stuff we did on the way back to the cabin. They're probably dry by now, want me to pick up yours?" Nevermind she probably interrupted a conversation, but since she was here and all...

Zia's brow quirked up at the 'hungry kitty' statement until she managed to brush it off and try not to think about it too hard. There were still normal cats. Assuming every feline was a mooncat was silly, right? Actually, assuming it's not a mooncat:
"Uh... I don't think you should be feeding random cats in the woods. They could be feral."
She made sure to give the boy walking in and saying good morning a greeting wave. She didn't want to be there, sure, but she didn't want anyone to feel like they were being ignored. "Hi!"
Zia just rested her elbows on her knees and propped up her head, watching Ridley approach and tap Istas on the shoulder. Eh, it was probably for the best, so she didn't really react like she was being interrupted. She couldn't monopolize her mini-me when there were kids her own age trying to talk to her.

Istas paused, "Oh, she's okay. I know her." Istas gave a nod before looking to see who had tapped her, "Ohh Ridley! Meet Zia." The child smiled, her lilac curls bouncing as she looked back to Zia, "Zia this is my friend Ridley!"
She nodded softly, "Oh would you? Or maybe we could watch the Rangers and their lesson and then go get the craft stuff? They have coloring books and hats!" She smiled at Ridley sort of hoping that her friend would watch with her.Azzo smiled as the boy approached and gave a nod, "Hello, we're about to start if you're interested in staying for a little bit." He seemed slightly eager, they were getting a small crowd it was good enough. If nothing else maybe the movie would bring others to watch.
Azzo's eyes however narrowed at the kid that just pleated Merlin with a pea. Merlin had gotten up to investigate and Azzo gave a sharp command for the dog to sit. "If you would kid be so kind as to lose the pea shooter before you put someone's eye out I'd appreciate it." His arms crossed and he stared at the kid.Billy the 3rd grade Bully rolled his eyes as he heard the 'adult' tell him to stop with the peas. "Fine." It's not like he wanted to get the dumb old dog to bite anyone anyways. He sat down begrudgingly and watched the TV screen, some TV was better than none after all. Azzo went over to the box of stuff and started rummaging through to find the tapes they had brought, occasionally glancing at Merlin who had by now laid down watching the kids intently. Finally Azzo pulled out two tapes labeled Smokey the Bear and Donald Duck. "Hopefully these are good quality they've been sitting around for a while." He sat one tape on top of the VCR and the other he popped in after making sure there was no other tape in it. "Now then if you Kids would sit and watch, I'm sure you'll enjoy the cartoon." Azzo was hopeful anyways.----------- ((At this time assume Smokey the Bear is playing. Anyone wanting to may use this video and the next one that will be posted soon after as Solo fodder are free to do so; or you can rp out watching them with the other kids in the room. Feel free to continue to talk amongst yourselves as well though. >> Azzo is not a strict teacher when it comes to watching cartoons and as long as you glance at the screen he'll probably assume you were watching some of it.))

The first movie started, and Aitana watched the ancient black and white advertisement with soft interest. Being from Brazil the Smokey the Bear campaign was brand new. So while others had probably seen some version of it before, it was all new to her.
It was a good enough message, she'd seen quite well the danger of fire in the forests and strip logging too. Granted.. the rain forests were a little wetter.. and didn't set a blaze like the one in the little movie.

Ridley took a moment to look at both Istas and Zia, her eyes darting between the the two. It was almost a double take really, "wow!" She exclaimed, nearly dropping the fork from her mouth. "You guys have like the same hair!" Her smile spread, now no longer hindered by a utensil that was now clutched in her hand.
"So cool," maybe they were related somehow but then Istas would have introduced her as a relative instead of a friend right? Either way, Ridley smiled to the older girl. "Hi!" She chirped with a fork held wave, her name had already been given so no need to repeat it. Handshakes weren't really a Ridley thing, so she took the moment to stuff a small helping of cake in her mouth.
After a few chews, "nah.. fire safety stuff isn't anything new to me," she shrugged. Her orange eyes glanced at the little screen as it flicked with a black and white movie. Though, this one had to be one of her favorite videos; a lot of the newer ones were so preachy to her. This one was really cute.

"Hi, Ridley," Zia said with a little wave and a welcoming smile. She was happy to sit back and just be quiet, though, not wanting to interfere. She remembered being that age and constantly annoyed when her half siblings were always trying to stick their nose in her business and thinking adults just ruined everything.
Her thumb popped the zippo lighter top off out of boredom and instantly closed it when she realized what she was doing. Okay, the kids have shown up, messing with fire right about now is probably not the best move.
Instead she tried to kick back and watch the movie.
