Amphi shut her eyes, her legs seemed to walk on there own. In front of her laid a clean, well not really clean lawn of some sort. She had been wandering the campus for the day, with no classes for her to attend today she had been free to spend her time as she liked. In such, to continue the short walks she had been doing, she had left her monster dorm to explore the rest of the school.
Though she had no destination in mind, she quickly found her self in front of the ghost dorms. Unsure why her body felt the need to visit the cold and oddly depressing dorms. Death had never been a friend of hers, and it was such a strong burden to be around. Even now as she passed by the dorms she could feel the uneasy sensation of death prickling her back. Ghost lived in this dorm, those in the human world who had once been alive now passed to become students here. It was such a odd thing to think about. It made her wonder what happened to the ones who were considered living, those of the monster, demon, and reaper classes.
Her mind continued to trail away as she thought of the differences between classes, not noticing that if she ran into anyone.

Tybalt had just exited the ghost dorms and safely made it down the stairs to head off onto one of his walks before class, when someone walked into him; forcefully sending the black dog back a step or two.
"Hey!" He snapped, raising his own hands to shove the other back; thinking it was a fellow ghost, only to realize that this someone was someone entirely new to the place. Or rather, he had never seen her before. She didn't even look... well... dead.
"Y'know, it's normally better to watch where walking, or who your walking into, to be more precise." He added the last part with a touch sarcasm, dropping his hands to his side. He wasn't going to shove some new girl. Especially when it was likely an accident.
"Why you hanging around the ghost dorms anyways?" He asked, curiously. "Looking for someone? Or just looking around?"

Amphi was well off into another world when the collision happened. The impact of her body hitting that of a bigger more solid boil sent her skidded a few steps behind and a instant blush that seemed to cover her face all the time.
"Oh no! Oh I am so sorry." She looked up into the bright blue eyes of a black dog, his toothy smile was turned into a scowl that had her wincing. She felt the tough sting of his sarcasm before holding up her hands. "I am so so so sorry, I was just walking, and I must've drifted and are you all right?" She kept her head ducked as she fidgeted in her spot. "The ghost dorms?" She looked up at him again and then towards the dorms. Why had she come here?
"Actually I have no idea." she rubbed the back of her neck in comically relief, as to say, Hey I was just walking around and it happened to be here. "I suppose it has something to do with the fact that I haven't ever been over here. Not a big fan of all the dead haunts around this place? Or maybe I was on a indistinctly hunt for water? Do you keep pools around here?" She blushed and covered her mouth, "Oh that was so rude. I'm sorry, I come from the sea and am not really use to land walkers etiquette! I don't mean to offend or remind you that well your are ghost of the dead or undead or...or whatever." She rambled before smacking her palm on her forehead. "Crap maybe I should just be quiet." She stared at the black dog before ducking her head down. Now look at what you've done, Amphi thought.

Tybalt looked confused when she flinched away. Why was she acting as though he was going to hurt her?---oh right. His raised hands earlier didn't help. He realized and instinctively hid them behind his back. Though the more she talked the more sure he was that she was new here. Which was proved right when she admitted it.
"Uhh yeah... Behind the monster dorm---your dorm area I assume? There's a swamp. I think it's relatively clean. I think. You didn't know about it?" He asked and then shook his head in a 'never mind way' when he recalled she was new. But still, it was hard to miss.
"No offense. I've long since come to terms with the fact that I'm dead." He answered honestly and to be truthful, he didn't really remember his time being alive. It was like he had died and was re-born into a family of ghostly black dogs. It was all he knew. "And I don't think you have to worry much about etiquette. Or at least, I never do."

Amphi instantly felt really bad, the poor pup had looked as stricken as she did. "Well um..." She breathed in, a small embarassed flush on her face. She too hid her hands behind her back before looking up at him.
"Uh yes, I am from the monster dorm." She sighed at herself, acting like an idiot. "I didn't, though considering what it is, I might have to find another watering hole." She joked, "Swamps aren't my kinda of thing. I was sure though there we're some kind of pools of water here..." She sighed again before looking over at the Black dog...ghost.
"My name's Amphitrite...Though most call me Amphi for short." She held her hand out, small fins fanning. "Uh, like I said, kinda of new around here. I'm a mermaid as well, though I don't know if you could tell or if I told you or..." Yeah no she was really bad with introductions.
Oddly enough though, she laughed and gave him a small smile. "That's good, I would hate to step on the toes of other students after just coming here." She tugged on her sleeve before cocking her head. "Not worry about etiquette? But Sister's say that if I do not, then I will not be set up for a easy life here." She stared at the Black dog.

"Hmm..." The black dog gave it a thought, but eventually shook his head. "I don't think there is. Not on campus anyways. You could try swimming in the fountain at the maul, but I think people might give you weird looks." He joked and shrugged. "The swamp isn't too bad though. C'mon, I'll show it to you." He made a motion to follow and then stuck his hands in his pockets.
"Figured as much. I'm Tybalt, a black dog." He answered, returning the greeting and flashing her a grin full of serrated teeth, before tilting his head curiously at her reply.
"Ehh, really? I've never really had a problem with it." He paused. "Then again, I think I may have made a couple enemies... Don't know if had anything to do with lack of etiquette though..." He shrugged and continued his walk.
It wasn't long before they were at the monster dorm, the large pool of water before them like a dull mirror showing them their reflection. Like most swamps, the water was murky, but it was cleaner than most he had seen and didn't look terrible to swim in. Heck, he may even choose to take a swim in it sometime.

She laughed at his suggestion. "Actually, as long as it's deep enough, I might be able to hide underwater yes?" She laughed again before covering her mouth, trying to stifle the giggles of thinking of swimming in a fountain...of all things. "Or perhaps blend in with the artistic rendition, they often make fountains that look like mermaids....or so I have heard." She giggled again. "Oh it's nice to meet you Tybalt!" She thought in a way, when he gave her that grin that she should be worried and yet at the same time, he was inexplicably adorable. Like his ears! and his wispy tail. "If...I didn't see them before but you have ears! Their very adorable." She flushed at her comment before looking away. Uh damn! Cute things always got her. "Enemies?" She squeaked, oh lords, maybe she had met the rougher side of Amityville. By the way he dressed and acted, she was sure he was what her sister's warned her about. Some word or something... A hoodlum?!!? No no, He was being so nice to her though Without even knowing though, Tybalt had her walking and talking straight back at the monster dorm and to the Swamp. She looked down at the water that so easily called to her before looking at him, he was right, it wasn't such a bad pool of water, a little murky but not something she couldn't adjust to. "Would you like to go for a swim Tybalt? Do Black dogs like to swim?" She took a step forward, the water lapping at her legs before they started to glow and shift.

Tybalt snorted at the thought. To be honest, he couldn't remember how the maul fountain was styled like. Nor did he really care. He wasn't as in to art or scenery as some others might be, so he never took the time to observe things around him. Unless of course it was something that piqued his interest. Then it was a different story.
"Don't think I've ever seen a mermaid fountain before, but be sure to tell me if you decide to make yourself into one. It would be interesting to see." He teased.
He paused when she mentioned his ears; subconsciously putting his hand up to touch one of them with a frown. He didn't like being called cute, and having someone say it so openly made him wonder if that was how others saw his ears. He hoped not, otherwise he might have to chop them off, or at least keep his hood up at all times. After all, cute was not manly!
"Yeah, a couple..." He stopped, counting fingers and looking thoughtful. "Maybe three." He added with a shrug, avoiding the cute comment altogether and choosing to walk towards the swamp instead. It wouldn't do him or her any good to make a fuss out of it now. Not when someone was as timid as she seemed to be.
"Hmm, maybe... I don't swim often." He admitted. Water always made him feel more cold than usual. Though it couldn't hurt.
"I can stick around for a few more minutes, but then I have to go. Or I'll be late for class." He finally answered, morphing into his own natural form. Reason being, it was easier to move--or rather, swim in than it was for his two legged form.

She blushed at his teasing before nodding her head. If and when she did, she would send a message to the black dog herself...before she did it. That's the way it worked right? "I'll figure a way to send it." She ducked her eye's under the hood of her bangs. "Yes, If I become a fountain I will let you know. It would be a interesting way to to live life."
She watched him move to touch his ears before stifling a girlish squeal. What was it about dogs and cats and the creatures with ears like them that made her want to pet them? Though he was a boil and that made her blush thinking of just going up there and reaching up there to touch them. "Uhm.." She began before shrugging. No point in bringing them up if he didn't want to. She'd just admire from afar for now.
"A couple enemies?" She squeaked, "Are you....are you what they call a hoodlum?" She stared wide eyed at him before backing up a little.
Though she didn't have long to wait before her legs shifted into her tail and dropping her into the water with a small splash. Looking up at him, he had shifted as she did and she stared wide eyed.
"Wow! Your kind of big for a dog!" She reached out, holding her hand out to him before bringing it back. "I'm sorry, I am not used to the students who are kin to animals." She blushed before sinking further into the water, before dipping completely down.
The water was in fact murky and dark and....well different then her ocean's. Like something would lurk down there. She waited for the black dog, swimming small circles before they descended deeper. She felt a lot better knowing another student was there with her after all. "I won't keep you long Tybalt." She looked over her shoulder, "We'll just make sure its safe at the bottom and then you can go. Thank you." She smiled at him.

"Hoodlum...?" He blinked, confused on how she mistake him for one. Then again, he did his fair share of stuff that would make people think exactly that. Yeah... he could see it now. "Nah, I just tick some people off, and same for them. The feeling is mutual." He shrugged not at all bothered by this. Everyone had someone they just didn't get along with and he was no exception to this rule.
"Yeah, not the biggest, but we black dogs are a fair size, I guess." Sadly, he was not the biggest among his kind. He was in fact, a runt. If you were to compare him to both Nolita and Bastian they'd find his size to be not all that impressive.
He waded out into the water, eying the mermaid warily as she reached out to him.
"Its okay..." He answered. Many people had tried before to touch his ears, or treat him like a pet. It was something he had to get used to, yeah, but he still wasn't fond of it and likely never would.
Putting the thought behind him, he plunged his head under the water and followed after her. His feet moving in motions that could pass as swimming, but really, all he was doing was descending.
"Are you scared or something?" He finally asked. It was odd that she wanted to check the bottom of the swamp and the only thing he could think of was that she wanted to see if there was anything else in the swamp. Which was probably the best thing to do. It was smart to find out who you'd be swimming with before making yourself too comfortable.

"Oh my." She nodded as he brushed the title of hoodlum away. Amphi had to say though, not everyone got along, to assume he was one was just getting her in trouble. "Well I hope not to "tick" you off then." She flushed at him before looking away.
"I guess size doesn't all that matter anymore, its more about fercious and...and yeah." Was she trying to make him feel better? Probably, she didn't want him to feel like he was lacking in anything, well cause he wasn't.
She continued to hold her hand back before swimming underneath before smiling. The water felt so nice, so calming and had her doing a small turn in it, bubbles floated to the surface.
She looked over to Tybalt before looking down again. "New surroundings are always scary....and the last thing I need is to be swimming in a swamp infested with something that could hurt me." She nodded before swimming deeper. It wasn't long before they hit the bottom. "It looks safe enough I suppose...thank you Tybalt for sticking with me down here." She turned once more to look at the black dog before her eye's widened. Just behind the black dog..........
"Ty....Tybalt." She squeaked as she met the eye's of the other inhabitant, huge...glowly....purple eyes. Omg what is it!!?!?

"You're okay so far." The black dog assured and swam deeper.
The water was murky. Murky enough that it was difficult to see what was in front of him, but not so murky that he was swimming blind in the water. Though as nervous as the mermaid was, he doubted there was anything to fear in these waters, that wouldn't have been reported already.
"Oh trust me, size can can sometimes be what wins the fight, but it could be big or small." Someone of Haze's size could be rather deadly if he faced them head on, but easy to dodge. However, if you considered someone as small as Jove... they would be quite difficult to land a hit on.
Lucky for him he was about average when it came to size.
The black dog nodded. Now that his job here was done, he was about to turn around and head back up to the surface, when Amphi spoke again. This time her voice sounding fearful as she tried to warn him about something.
"What? What's wrong?"

"That's good." She assured him again. Pleased to know that she wasn't on his hit list...yet.
She didn't even have time to react though as the creature shifted behind Tybalt. If she could scream underwater she would. "Ty...TYBALT SWIM AWAY." The giant thing....came out of the darkened swamp waters to reveal itself, a small light hung over its head as he showed the entirety of its face.....and teeth.
"EEEEEEEEEEEE." Amphi started swimming upwards, moving as fast as she could. Jack damn the swamp if that thing was swimming around. She'd rather be in the sea!

Tybalt stared, unmoving and unblinking at he rather large fish before him.
This was it?
THIS, was what she was afraid of?
.....
The black dog lasted about five seconds before he tucked tail and swam away as fast as he could.
"OHHH MY JAAACK! AMPHI WAIT FOR ME!!"
