What if Titles were eliminated?
Bare with me here, would you continue to RP if there were no titles to go for?
For that matter what if there were no instruments (trophies, medals, whatever) to go for. Would you still do it?
Titles are the sign of someone being rewarded for their talent, hard work and dedication however some people are pushed too soon, vets who go inactive get titles, awarded titles or there's the MitB cheap wins (no offense to those who had used them) so sometimes the titles are cheapened.
(Yeah I know the titles don't count, they're fake titles in a fictional universe blah blah) I don't know about you, but I have a certain amount of pride when I get into a good storyline, and win a title.
I don't like winning titles via auto win (unless I'm taking it off someone inactive), nor do I like being awarded.
So I mean would you do it, if titles didn't exist? Thoughts?

I haven't held a title in well over a year now. So I doubt it would make any difference to me at all.
However, I will say this; if you took titles away, this place would lose an aspect of what makes wrestling wrestling. And I don't think that should happen. Without the titles to fight over, it would make people seem petty, fueding for little or no reason.

I'm not saying take away titles, I'm just talking about hypothetically if they were. For example, I wouldn't eliminate any of EWA's championships considering the VAST title history

Championships shouldn't be all that you strive for, but they allow for some great feuds and gives you more s**t to talk about. They also make you feel a little accomplished which keeps you going more. Not sure if we'd have as many without championships to be honest.

If there was a promotion without any instruments of reward, I'd probably go for it as it's not really much of a factor when I'm rp'ing. However, I don't think it'd be good for the fed, as there'd be nothing to build the matches around.

While I would still RP because there's nothing more I love then a good storyline and bad a** matches. Titles come next. But titles give us something to work for, and like you said Chrono, lets us know we're being awarded for our talent and dedication. While I'd still like to RP, it seems it would be less enjoyable. For not being able to earn a title, and for not being able to see faces you've been watching earn a title.

i went years without going after titles in rp. i had been rping for a good 5 years or so before i actively sought after titles, hints why my title list is so much shorter than other vets or legends. i can rp fine without them. every now and then they just add something to a storyline

Without titles I'd probably still RP, but it would definitely be missing an aspect of wrestling. Championships are a part of it, they always have been and for good reason they always will be. Titles are not only a great way to reward people for their hard work, they also drive stories. If you eliminate them you're losing something that makes otherwise pointless feuds mean something. That's not to say I wouldn't be interested in RPing with no chance of winning a title, but I am saying that the championship feud is a cornerstone of wrestling and it's meant to play off the feuds that are more personal; not everyone has a personal reason for wanting to fight everyone else on the roster.

As much as I loved the pushes and the titles I've held the past year or so, truthfully I perfer more of a storyline than titles itself.
Personally I think that if it did happen unless you could figure out a possible goal for people to acheive in g-fedding RP we would probably lose a lot of people cause in any sport you try to be the best and how do you prove that? With titles that say so.
