[More people than ever are guilty of it. Are you one of them?
You know those trashy daytime TV programs showcasing human beings across America at their worst?? AKA talk shows like Springer and Maury and "judge" shows like the ones starrting Hatchet, Joe Brown and Judy?? (Let's not forget "Eye for an Eye" and the others. xd )
Do you watch them??
If yes, are you a faithful viewer or is it just an "every once in a while" kind of thing?
If no, why?
I used to never watch those types of shows because in my opinion they were a waste of air time.
These days, they are STILL a waste of air-time, but I have watched them. I got sucked in one day when I was at home during the early afternoon (which I usually never am).
It went like this:
Me: *walks into living room to see mom on the couch, watching a judge show*
Me: "Mom, how come you watch this stuff? It's complete garbage."
Mom: "...Huh? Yea, yea it is silly..."
Me: *picks up the remote, aiming it at the TV but not pushing any buttons*
Me: "Isn't there anything else on...?"
Mom: *silence*
Me: "Ugh, how can anybody watch this crap?"
Me: *sits down on couch with remote in hand, staring at TV screen, beginning to get sucked into the drama of the show*
Me: *starts commenting on the case being presented*
Mom: *smirk*
Me: *finally notices I'm watching the show I said was garbage*
Me: " gonk Damn!! stressed "

I do watch Judge Joe Brown and Judy everyday. I can't stand Jerry Springer. Those people go on there and embarrass themselves over some of the stupidest things I have ever seen. I think people that go on shows like that should have more respest for themsleves.

My dad watches that, my mom is more into those pointless soap operas. I find them boring, and the people on the show have issues. Embarrassing themselves on public television.

Those shows never interest me. However I do love watching drama. My favorite is going to this minute market where a bunch of the kids from the high school hang out. All my friends hang out there too but theres always drama going down. I love it.

I think people that go on shows like that should have more respest for themsleves. [Judging by the success of "Girls Gone Wild!" and "reality" shows and videos, it's pretty obvious that a lot of Americans have no shame in what they have to do to get that "15 minutes of fame." confused ] []

[Soaps are stupid, but I understand why people watch them. Soothsayer Jeckal Those shows never interest me. However I do love watching drama. My favorite is going to this minute market where a bunch of the kids from the high school hang out. All my friends hang out there too but theres always drama going down. I love it. [I used to like the excitement that "drama" was sure to create, but then I realized it wasn't a good thing that I didn't have to go anywhere or turn on the TV or radio to hear about it; I had front row seats, even when I didn't want them. stressed ] []

Maury is my fav. talk show because its funny. I watch it just to see which idiot is going to find out she's really a whore.

It is funny, but mostly because they are serious. xd
Honestly, why the hell do people actually come on these shows?? If somebody tells you you've been asked to come on Maury, why the ******** would you go?? You know it's gonna be bad, right?? There's rarely a "good" surprise on those shows.
...Even though sometimes (I guess to redeem themselves), the host will grant a dying wish or try to help someone... rolleyes ] []

I ask the same thing when I watched a epsiode of Jerry Springer. Every one knows what his show is like so why would you even go on there and act surprised when you hear such shocking news. To much craziest for me.

I never watch maury or springer for more than two seconds
but yeah when there is nothing else on in the middle of the day nobody home and my friends arn't avilible after I get bored with gaia I sometimes watch those judge shows

Aw! When I used to live back in St.Louis me and my friend would ride the bus home, and she would come over and we would make Velveta Shells and Cheese and watch the last 30 minutes of Jenny Jones and then Ricki Lake...
;[ Memories. But they were both cancled! Well I think Jenny Jones is on at some outrageous hour on UPN

It wouldn't be a soap opera if the actors weren't overdramatic, etc.
I know what you mean about being "drawn to the TV." That happens to me with Xena: Warrior Princess, most recently. xp The show turned into a steamy pile of waste, but I still watch it whenever I catch it on~! rofl ]
