Running wasn't the safest activity with his hands still bound. It was hard to keep his balance and his recently missing eye still made it difficult not to run into things. One good eye had been trained out ahead of him, only looking for walls, ignoring all the rocks and rubble that battered his bare feet.
E'th's first family had all died, leaving him alone. Too young and not female he couldn't continue the family, his leaving him to be sold off. His Master had kept him around for cleaning but any time something wasn't to his standards he would punish the boy, lashing his back. Fresh scores reopened as he ran, colouring the back of his baggy shirt. His long hair had been coloured with a hint of his blood since just after he'd ran away, the boy looked quite the sight to be seen.
The runes on his cuffs held a glow, most likely they were shooting some pain from them to tell him to return, but for the life of him he couldn't feel it. The pain in his feet, legs, and back seemed to numb out anything else, all it did was make his breathing more labored. However when his adrenaline rush seemed to run on dry he dropped to his knees, grabbing a boulder for support. The pounding of his heart drummed heavily in his ears, drowning out any surrounding noise. He closed his eyes and pressed his head to the cold stone.

Adinas was trying to not make a habit of sneaking out of the House. It was very hard for him not to though. The city was big, full of secrets, and so...exciting. Not that there wasn't a lot of excitement in his own House. He could go looking for it himself if he really wanted to. His uncles were perfect targets for practicing his sneaky arts. He liked watching then konk out after accidentally inhaling a dusting of sleepy dust. That was best, because then he got to mess with them. Like...loosening all the stitches on their armor. That way when they woke up and chased him, it fell apart, made a lot of loud noises, and tripped them up. Most times he just wrote 'Kick Me' on the backs of their cloaks or armor, and once in a while he wrote 'I'm Stupid'. He didn't dare write anything worse, out of fear of it having some kinda really bad backlash. So Adinas had snuck out today. He was making certain that he did not do it often of course. This was the second time this month. He was very happy he had too. he had found something so odd! Adinas had been following the boy as he ran. He looked terribly scared too. Adinas was following from above though. He crawled on his hands and knees under the hiding cloak of a invisibility spell. Hidden as he was, he could follow the boy as long as he wanted...but...he didn't want to just follow. Adinas' brows furrowed as he crawled down a wall to where the boy knelt. "You dun look so good." He said as he dropped the invisibility spell. His black eyes with their golden shine swept over him slowly. He was so hurt...

E'th breath hitched when he heard the voice. His immediate thoughts went to his Master, causing him to shoot back as far as he could in his crouched position. When he saw someone about his age his relaxed just a little, good eye darting around just in case his Master had followed. He swallowed hard and shut his gaping mouth. He knew he must've looked a rather pitiful sight....but that didn't stop him from scooting back a bit more anyway, leaving footprints in blood as he moved.
"Uh...I, uh, suppose I, um, probably don't..." he replied, voice hoarse as it cracked. "What....um......what are you doing, uh....here?" he asked hesitantly. Had he actually run far enough to reach another house? He hadn't been paying due mind to where he was and his remaining eye was rather bleary at the moment. Ahh, even his better eye still wasn't terribly good at the moment. His body really had given up on him.

He was hurt. And far worse then Adinas had realized at a glance. He rolled off the wall and dropped to his feet in a crouch while listening to him stumble over his words. Wow...if he had ever been that hurt he would have cried and cried....
"I am following you." He answered the boys hesitating question. Adinas motioned to his feet. "Your gunna draw some scavengers attention bleeding like that. You should come with me. I can get you some boots. I don't wear mine." Adinas explained as he held up one web covered foot. Wiggling it in the air, he set it down and took another step towards the boy. "You got a weird necklace on. What is your House? I'm from Torlyl."

Eeee......he was so.....chatty. E'th was intimidated to say the least.
"Why.....uh, why are you, um, following me...?" That was an important question....but as was wondering why the drow seemed to want to help. Drow didn't help one another, it didn't happen. Maybe the other thought it would be amusing? Maybe he was bored? Maybe he'd been sent to take E'th home? Ugh....he really didn't want to go back to that place though.
At the question he frowned a little. "Um...my, uh, house was destroyed....um, and this isn't a necklace. It's, uh, a collar..." he mumbled, putting his sleeves over it. It wasn't going to make the other forget about it, but he couldn't help but feel a little self conscious about it. Why was the other so chatty? Had his Matron never told him to avoid strangers? Strangers could be dangerous...and yet the other seemed to hold no concern for it. He seemed more worried about scavengers than maybe E'th being up to no good. Wouldn't it usually be assumed someone covered in blood most likely deserved it? Needless to say he didn't trust the other....he seemed....off.

He seemed so scared. Adinas assumed it was because he was bleeding and hurt. He was either... a whipping boy, or he had been a bad slave. It was clear now that he had heard the other tell him it was a collar that he was a slave. Adinas padded in his web covered feet like he was pacing before the wounded drow. "I was practicing my stalking." He explained while watching E'th curiously. "I can only follow the same people so many times before there is no challenge in it. I want to be better at my job." He explained with a little more detail then was needed. Actually, was any explanation needed at all? He could have just told the other boy because he wanted to.
Adinas shifted forwards another step and leaned forwards slightly to peer at the other boy. "So your a run away slave?" Well he would run away too if he was all beaten up like that...or would he? He considered his mother for a moment. If she whipped him then would he run away? Maybe not...it would be because he deserved it clearly... "Wanna come home with me?" He piped up with a bit of a smile. "I could hide you in my room and sneak you food from the kitchen? And I could get you something for all your cuts and stuff."

Of course he was terrified, he'd just been running for his life while covered in blood. It wasn't really one of the fondest memories of his life. He continued to shuffle back when the other came closer to him, uncertain his motives. He didn't seem to be planning to attack....if he wanted to attack or recapture him it really wouldn't be so hard. "I, uh, don't think I like the sounds of that..." he mumbled, more to himself. He didn't like the idea of someone following him...it made him rather...uncomfortable.
"....uh, I'm sorry....I think, um, my ears must've stopped working as well..." he mumbled, shaking his head a little. "You're not the head of your house...you can't just take in someone new..." Suspicion rising....why was the other so interested in him? Had he never seen a slave before? What was wrong with him? Maybe the other drow really was just bored and E'th just happened to look like the most interesting thing he'd seen recently.

He was like a wounded rat. Somewhat mottled and bloody from whatever bad situation it had been in. But it still had a curious aspect to it, almost cute in a weird vulnerable way. He resisted the urge to poke at E'th with his stick, as he was sure that would just cause the other to start bleeding more. At the same time he was looking the boy over carefully. He did not see any kind of weapons on him. he was just...a run away slave.
Adinas decided...he wanted him. He had never considered owning someone before. Perhaps it was this seemingly helpless state that made him think of his baby brother? That could be it. He wanted to drag this wounded animal home and stick it in a box to secretly nurse back to health. That was a common and healthy feeling for a boy his age right? Adinas boldly stepped towards E'th and reached a hand down in slight offering to him.
"I can take you to Mother. If she says I can keep you then no one is gunna take you away from me. Then you won't have to hide and I don't have to sneak you nothing. Come on. It'll be better with me anyways. Someone lots worse could find you right now. A big spider, or one of the lizard patrolmen. You wanna end up eaten by a lizard?"

Going from one Master to another didn't sound like the greatest plan....but it certainly sounded better than being eaten. His eyes darted left and right, his brows knit together, he bit his lip. He looked every bit as nervous as he felt, he really wasn't one to hide his emotions on his sleeve. Then again it was likely someone else would also find him, maybe someone even more violent....the other looked about his age....really, it was far less scary than someone older like his last Master. But...what if his mother wouldn't want E'th around? Would he be killed? Sent out? Sold? He bit his lip some more at the thoughts.
Very slowly and shakily he got to his feet, rather awkward with his baggy shirt suddenly heavy with blood and sweat. "I....uh.....guess it could be a lot worse, um, than going with you..." he said slowly. He fidgeted with the insides of his sleeves nervously and swayed a little. "Uh....then....where, um, where are we going?" he asked, still uncertain. Well...he had to take a bit of a leap there. Maybe the other was taking him to get sold, maybe he was taking him as a slave, either way he'd most likely at least get patched up which certainly couldn't hurt at the moment.

He was coming! Adinas's eyes brightened for a moment as the boy rose. They looked about the same height...maybe Adinas was a teeny bit taller? Or was the other boy? He supposed he could get them measured later, just to see. What mattered now was that he was not going to say no and run away.
What if he had though? Adin was not certain what he would have done then. Grabbed him and dragged him off anyways? He was a run away slave, so that was as good as finding someones pet lizard on the street. Adinas did not quiet notice or recognize the swaying that the boy was doing was most likely because of blood loss and exhaustion. He merely padded his way down the ally and back towards his house.
"House Torlyl. It's way over here. I don't go too far from the House, just in case. I wanna be able to get back real quick if one of Mothers enemies recognizes me." Adinas turned to look at E'th as he walked. "I don't think they know about me much though. I hide a lot. Mother hardly knows where I am most of the time and I don't think a quarter of the staff have ever seen me. I'm like a spider, that's what Mother called me. I'm her spider."

When he saw the house he shrank a little. Returning to another house so soon was a little....daunting. It wasn't typical for drow to be shuffled between houses and this was his third in such a short time period...it scared him a little. Hearing that the others' mother had enemies (Plural) really didn't help his nerves any. Or....maybe he was shaking for some other reason? He hadn't quite figured that out just yet.
"You, uh, haven't asked my name or told me yours yet..." he said after a moment. But he fidgeted a bit more and decided it would be proper manners. "I'm E'th, of.....well.....like kI said before, I don't really have a house any more," he said, saddening a little at the thought. He missed his house...it was where he felt....safe. He was now alone and confused with his only company a weird boy that took the same interest in him as one would a brand new lizard or bat his mother bought him. Well...it was better than being hit he figured....he'd just have to see where it went.

Adinas chose to lead E'th around to the back of the House, where the servants and slaves entered. He never used the front gate. That was all flashy showy and he wasn't that kind of drow. He was sneaky hidey under your wards kind! Plus, he didn't want E'th to drip blood on the rugs. Adinas turned to smile faintly at E'th as he pushed the door open and led him inside. Amid the gawking looks of the servants, he took a moment to smooth his blond streaked hair down.
"I'm Adinas Torlyl, First son of House Torlyl. We're the sixth ruling House you know?" Oh...he probably did know. If he was from this city anyways. Adinas had forgotten to ask him what House he had been from...well..there were only five other Houses above his mothers. He really doubted he was from one of them. They'd never have let a slave escape like this. "You don't have to worry though. Once Mother say's so, you'll belong to this House, and it's the best one!" He insisted with a firm nod of his head.

The other seemed so....happy about the idea of having E'th around...it was a little unnerving. "Oh.....uh......okay," he mumbled. When they got to the door he paused. He held his hands up to his chest and shuffled a little. "Um.....should I, uh, wash my feet or something first?" he said, worried about making a mess. If he entered the house there would most likely be blood and mud everywhere. Chances were Adinas' mother wouldn't like it, and the staff would hate it even more. Maybe one of them would rather grab a cloth for him to wipe his feet on a bit first.
His eyes darted around to the servant, frowning slightly before his eyes fell to the ground. The didn't seem to like the idea of seeing him enter the house....considering the blood he couldn't blame them. Plus bringing home strange folks wasn't exactly normal....chances were they were less than impressed by what they saw.

Adinas balked. E'th was right. If he took him to his mother like this she'd probably be offended by the sight of him. He was icky and cut up and clearly looked like he belonged in a trash bin. Adinas took a few steps back, then pointed down one of the bare servants passages. "There is a washroom for the servants down here. You are right. We should wash you up first before Mother see's you." Adinas did not think his mother would feel favorable towards a ugly looking slave either... she might decide E'th was too ugly for a son to keep, even as a pet.
Adinas changed his direction to lead E'th to the servants area, and he started to smile a bit. "We'll get you something clean to wear, and some shoes. Then I'll take you to see Mother. let's hope we don't run into father or one of my uncles first though..."

He nodded silently. When he was pointed to the washroom he nodded and walked as carefully as he could, trying not to drag his feet or leave too many foot prints....it wasn't working out so well. He would much rather not look like hell when meeting the woman who would decide his fate.....but he honestly was starting to feel dizzy again. After he finished running he'd felt rather dizzy...maybe it was something like that. Too much excitement and what not.
"I, uh, guess your father and uncles don't, um, like the idea of you having a slave?" he asked slowly. Adinas seemed to be rather eager to please his mother (Nothing unusual there), but seemed rather distant with his father and uncles. It wasn't any of his business....but he couldn't help but feel it a little odd. "Doesn't need to be shoes," he mumbled, "just something to wrap my feet would be fine..." He didn't want to be too much trouble...he didn't know what would be more troublesome, shoes or bandages? Well....he figured more work went into shoes, he had to assume they would cost more to buy them.
