..::Raticate::..
Raticate are much larger than Rattata, bipedal instead of quadrupedal, and are mostly tawny in color with a lighter-colored underside. Like Rattata, Raticate’s most prominent feature is its very large incisor teeth that grow quickly. Three rows of whiskers extend from its muzzle, which it uses to maintain balance. They also possess webbed feet, which can enable them to swim. Raticate has a much more rat-like tail than Rattata, being long, scaled, and bare, and its ears are more ragged in shape.
Omnivores in the truest sense, in that they are able to subsist on almost anything edible.
It has teeth that are strong enough to gnaw through steel.

I'll gnaw and gnaw until the foe goes down!

~ Due to the obscure growth rate of the incisors, Raticate is often found gnawing to keep his teeth from growing down to the floor. Therefore, Nathanial is always seen carrying something edible - in this case, a piece of wood.

~ His eating habit does not stop there, however...Nathanial also has a tattoo of a pokemon berry on his left pectoral muscle. Artist's discretion on the type of berry. [x]

The user chomps hard on the target with its sharp front fangs. It cuts the target's HP to half.

The user bites hard on the target with its sharp front fangs. It may also make the target flinch.

An attack move that cuts down the target's HP to equal the user's HP.

The user frightens the target with a scary face to harshly reduce its Speed stat.

~ Energetic - Neutral
True to the nature of a mouse, this Raticate has a tendency to act hyper. While either performing a task or having fun, he is usually moving around about a mile a minute. To some, this can get disturbing, since he has difficulty controlling himself, but it can also work to his advantage. The reason being, he is always up and ready to do the next thing on his list! Even when not given a task, Nathanial is hardly ever found sitting still; it is not in his nature to just do nothing. If you need someone to play ball, swim or run with...he is your guy!! All that energy has to burn off somehow! Also, along with the activities, his mouth generally moves faster than it should - when he talks he cannot seem to just talk. Nathanial has a habit of laughing, snorting, and being obnoxiously loud in a conversation if in the right mood. He is currently trying to master, however, the ability to restrain himself from acting as such when being professional....after all, there is a time and place for everything, right?
~ Insecure - Negative
Despite all that energy, Nathanial lacks any sort of confidence in himself. While he may be upfront and friendly to a stranger, underneath it all he knows he is not worth their time. The joyful personality is simply a front for the truth (or what he believes is the truth): no one honestly wants to talk to him. He is really nothing to look at as it is...but even his personality lacks flavor! Who would want to sit down and chat with a bumbling, twitchy, servant-boy?! Due to these thoughts haunting him daily, Nathanial has a harder time making friends than most. Even if said person isn't trying to control him...he has difficulty trusting himself enough to make that person a friend. His work also suffers because of these insecurities. Sure he will do his job and he will do his best at it, but is it really good enough? The Raticate may try again and again until he is satisfied with his performance, but it still won't be enough to shake him of these thoughts.
~ Submissive - Negative
His life as a pokemon has lead him to believe that everyone else is better than him - that he, and he alone, must do as others say. One could say that it was his own insecurities that started this behavior, but it is all he has ever known, so to him, it is normal behavior. His master had him act as an ever-faithful slave for most of his life and for this, Nathanial does not know how to form an opinion of his own. In any situation, whatever the person standing closest to him says, he will agree to - regardless of whether or not be believes it himself. You can get him to do just about anything for you because he cannot seem to say 'no', nor does he want to. Having the mindset of doing things for others, be it good or bad, gives Nathanial his reason for living - perhaps then, he believes, everyone around him will accept him for who he is! Another thing he is 'useful' for is his willingness to take the blame for anything gone wrong. Like a wife who apologizes to her husband after he beats her, Nathanial always thinks he did something wrong to deserve it anyways...so why not punish him!? He is the inferior being, never living up to other people's expectations - or at least, his own.
~ Compassionate - Positive
Although he may think he is terrible at it, the Raticate can and will listen to anyone speak. This is not just so he can do what is asked of him, but because he wants to help. Whether it is sitting there listening to a story for hours on end or holding someone while they cried, Nathanial does his very best to always be there for people. Even though he might not know all the hardships of life, a few short, polite words always seem to put a smile on someone's face. He does not want anyone to dislike themselves as much as he and for that reason alone, he will always be that caring shoulder. If he starts to feel like an equal to someone, he will be more willing to open himself up past his pushover, submissive ways. Nathanial's habit of putting other people's needs ahead of his own is not only a flaw but a nice way of helping himself work off his insecurities. When people tell him, "thank you that meant a lot", the Raticate cannot help but feel mildly proud of himself...if only for a second or two.
~ Diligent - Positive
When asked to do something, he will almost always do it, no matter what the task at hand may be. On the rare occasion that he refuses, Nathanial will try his best to find someone else to perform said task - a job is a job and someone has to do it! Whether or not it is him is irrelevant, what matters is finishing what is asked of him. As he is airing out another person's dirty laundry, he will almost always carry it on for hours on end, trying desperately to make it perfect. If it means getting acceptance from his masters and his 'friends', the job has to be perfect. Call it obsessive compulsive if you will, but he does not see it that way at all, he is simply doing his job the way it deserves to be done, and in a timely fashion. Hardly ever does he end up spending more than a few hours performing a task, but like stated, if it means gaining acceptance, he will do whatever it takes. Although, his insecurities play a factor in this as well - does he ever really do a good job? Honestly? He does not know...

Gluttonous - negative
Oh boy does Nathanial love food!! The obsession started as a young Rattata, when his incisors grew and grew, he learned in the nest that he had to gnaw his way through things in order to keep them at a healthy size. It started with wood and rock, then metal and concrete. He became obsessed with having things in his mouth at all times and soon moved from inedible items to berries, fruits and bread. The eating never quite escalated to him gaining to much weight (what a lucky boy!) and in his human form, he is rather slim...all the more reason to just keep eating! Nathanial needs it to comfort himself when his insecurities get the better of him, let alone the fact that his teeth still grow at an unusual rate.
Mildly Unreliable / Untrustworthy - negative
Due to his submissive nature and his eagerness to please, Nathanial has developed a bit of a habit - gossiping! He does not necessarily realize he is doing it, but when someone asks him if he knows a secret of someone else, the Raticate cannot help but say what he knows! If he knew he was doing it, chances are Nathanial would be very disappointed in himself...but it is a subconscious habit that plays along with his personality. It is pretty easy to get words out of him; if you wanted something to hold over someone's head...definitely use him!

Strengths:
He can chew through just about anything! Give him a concrete wall and watch it tumble under those teeth! No, really...it is insanely difficult to keep this guy locked up someplace cause he'll always manage to chew through the bars. His insecurities keep him guarded, which can be a strength if he does not let a lot of people get to know the real him...he will always be safe that way. Also, Nathanial is, (or tries to be) a kind person.

Weaknesses:
Alongside his inability to say no, eating is Nathanial's biggest weakness. On the rare occasion that he refuses to do what is asked of him, a plate full of food will usually do the trick. Apart from that, criticize him and he will go weak in the knees...moping around for days. When done properly by an enemy, it can be an effective way of distracting him from bettering himself.

It was the only life he ever really knew. His caretakers had bred the two who gave him life purely for selfish reasons: they were building an army. This army was designed, or supposed to be designed to take over the entire region of Kanto and everything that came with it...pokemon especially. This group was called Team Rocket and his 'master' as they had each pokemon call them, was a much older man than some of the rest. He was the meanest of them all, it seemed, mercilessly whipping his pathetic pokemon into brutal, fighting machines. Little Rattata did not want to be like this for it did not seem necessary...but he was born into it. It was his job.

Luckily for him, the old member of Team Rocket sensed Rattata's hesitation and sent him to be trained by one of the younger members of the team, a small boy with a foolish dream of one day ruling the world. The older man thought little of the small boy and thought that if he gave him the Rattata to raise, the two of them would bring each other down. It pleased the old man that he was so clever!! So that being said, the small boy and the little Rattata grew up together, both terrible in the job they were given. The boy could not train properly and the Rattata was not nearly as strong as the rest of the pokemon in the field. Ultimately, they lost almost every battle they were in.

This drove the boy crazy.

Everything changed when the little Rattata evolved into a Raticate. The boy saw him as a stupid, useless pokemon who could not do his job correctly; he blamed everything on the Raticate...and for that, the pokemon was punished. The severity of the punishment depended on the level of accusation made by the small boy. Raticate grew to realize that if he did not do what was asked of him the first time it was asked, none of this would ever end. After being traded from the young boy to an older, softer looking teenage boy, Raticate started fresh with his training. He would do anything and everything in his ability to fulfill his master's wishes, and was on few occasions, the best in the pack. The older boy never punished Raticate the way the old man had, nor had he blamed his troubles on the pokemon the way the smaller boy had. The two of them had an understanding....the teenager was his master and Raticate was his slave.

None of this came close to the life that Raticate wanted, but at the very least, he had begun to feel...needed. The boy used him in almost every battle he fought, generally pushing the pokemon until it collapsed.

Although, Raticate was still not the strongest pokemon on Team Rocket's group and all he ever wanted was to be the very best that he could be. How he was going to achieve that goal was far and beyond anything he could ever imagine, until one night after he had fallen asleep. It had been a day quieter than most so the pokemon's dreams were as pleasant as he allowed them to be. The Musharna came to him and told him that him that his dream was plausible, that he could be given the body of a human. Raticate's eyes grew wider and more excitable than they had ever dared to be before - he would be able to fulfill his master's dream!! Imagine it, a larger and stronger version of himself, carrying out the deeds of those who controlled him! He accepted without any hesitation, hoping that this would be his final chance at acceptance.

Little did he know, however, that Team Rocket did not care for a puny human with large teeth and a twitch....
