Nickname(s): Mr. Slick, Holigaster to friends.
Age (Appearance Wise): 19-20ish
Age (Actual): 35
Personality:
Practical. (concerned with the tangible, down-to-earth, and concrete. intelligent, but not an intellectual or philosopher. a rational. likes to manage his budget, go bargain-hunting, make lists and complete them. politically a conservative, and member of house albridge. he is more likely to enjoy a painting of a lighthouse or boat than something abstract.)
Tactile. (likes fine things, good clothes, good music, good food. sensually focused. appreciative of things he can smell, taste, touch, see, hear.)
Shrewd. (observant, especially when it comes to money-making opportunities. a flatterer when prudent.)
Gossip. (enjoys hearing about the local politics, and who is up to what. he is a terrible secret-keeper.)
Mechanically Inept. (can not, for the life of him, manage the most basic devices. finds pocketwatches confusing, and can not wind or adjust them. has similar problems with clockwork mechanisms, transportation, etc. a source of embarrassment for him.)
Enthusiastic. (still young, has a degree of youthful ambition. warm regarding his shop and subjects he likes. willing to try new foods and fashions)
Thoughts on the Forest: Just a location, like any other, that is impractical to visit and he does not plan on bothering about. Notwithstanding any juicy rumors, of course.
Thoughts of Book Children: Good for business (able to wear colors!).
Thoughts on City People: Always interesting.
Physical Appearance: He has the head of an eel, with a dorsal fin that starts at the top of his head and goes down his spine and around his tail. Has a long serpentine neck, and his mouth contains rows of sharp teeth. The rest of his body (hands, feet, torso, etc) are human. The clothing he wears is on a middle-class merchant's budget, but he really likes complex clothing with lots of patterns (maybe checkered slacks, embroidered sleeves, a matador-type jacket? Cravat tied in a silly, puffy, over-obvious fashion. If it's too visually busy, feel free to tone down).

History: Found and taken in by an old policeman, when Holigaster appeared in the middle of his garden. Grew up reading detective novels, but figured out in short order finding lost cats was not very lucrative. Made friends in university, but was never a scholar. Quit early to focus on business. Before that, was always making money in some way or another, whether via card games or yardwork. Really loved various perfumes, colognes, and spices, and opened a cart in the marketplace selling them, but found competition too steep before finally finding a foothold in the fabric industry. Still a very young businessman, but open to trends and change.
Hobbies: Board games, home-crafting projects.
Birthday: January
Favorite Things: Adventure Stories, especially involving the Sea (Horatio Hornblower, Treasure Island, Robinson Crusoe, Twenty Thousand Leagues, etc.), How-to Books, good sale days.
Hated Things: Being bored, owing money, having his time wasted.
Favorite Story: The Sea-Wolf - Jack London
