Lily dragged the sulking Paris toward Kookaburra with a determined look. She thought it was a bit good that Paris was sulking and she wondered if Paris would use whatever was bothering him to his advantage.

"Come on, come one," she said pointing quickly, "she is right over there and it's best to fix this error before it gets to out of hand. All the girl cabins are full so hopefully we can get another." Her voice was low as she didn't want the many ears up about their conversation.

She weaved through the crowd of excited campers ready to drop thing in their cabins and head to lunch. She wanted to get her things moved too as she had no intention of just having Paris all by his lonesome for a whole week in a cabin that may not even have been cleaned. For the most part everything had been decided and although they had come up early they had been busy with training and planning so their hadn't been much time to worry elsewise. Now however, now was a time for such things.

Paris could do nothing but sulk. Not because of the masses of children -- kids could actually be hilariously funny; he was hoping for some good sport during camp -- and not even because he'd been placed in the "wrong" cabin, though he wouldn't mind if that was what others believed. His sulking had more to do with the person they'd just left than the one they were now approaching, but he certainly wasn't going to complain about misunderstandings concerning his current mood and the reasons for it if it got them what they wanted.

He wasn't really sure what they wanted, to be honest. He could manage sleeping anywhere, if he absolutely had to. Getting up earlier than everyone else and going to bed later had been the original plan. He was used to only get a few hours of sleep some nights anyway, and if that didn't work then he had no problem getting a hold of Chris's keys and sneaking off to the parking lot to curl up in the back seat of his car. The guy would probably never even know.

Paris allowed Lily to continue dragging him toward Kookaburra. Had she even given her real name? He couldn't remember; if she had during the counselors' initial viewing of the camp, he either hadn't been paying attention or it had slipped his mind by now. In any case, she seemed to be one of the very few adults he'd seen around today, and even that was stretching it a bit. She couldn't be all that old...

"Um... Kookaburra?" he began, glancing at Lily as if searching for help. What was he supposed to say? "So... we have sort of a problem. Uh, nothing kid related!" he made sure to add, figuring that 'a problem' could mean just about anything, and around such a large group of children it would be easy to assume that the problem lied there. "But... the cabins..."

While Captain Painite was here for a purpose of her own, Kookaburra was all about the business at hand. Keeping the kids in line, making sure everyone was having fun and following the rules. She was not going to abide chaos unless it was a controlled chaos, as it now seemed to be. She was pleased with how things were going so far, at least.

She looked at the two younger people approaching her. Not kids, not the little kind, anyway, and she recognized them both. Offering a very warm and genuine smile, she was glad there wasn't a kid related problem so early.

That would have put a damper on the pride she had just been feeling.

"The cabins? What's wrong with them? Did we put too many kids in one," she looked down at her clipboard, which had many, many papers attached to it. She seemed to know which one was the one she wanted, though, flipping to the assignment sheet quickly. She didn't see anything wrong at first glance, so the other two would have to fill her in.

"What's the matter?"

Lily gave a pulled a frown and turned her dual colored eyes on Kookaburra. "There seems to be an error that has been overlooked in the hectic camp preparations. A terrible awkward error that might be result of a misdeed, a prank a friend has pulled on us."

She looked to Paris, hoping that he would take the cue to jump in. Lily was looking at this like dancing, or even like battling for the moment. They need to be in tune and they need not to slip. They had three things going for them right now and Lily hopped it wouldn't take any unnecessary proof to convince Kookaburra of a cabin switch.

She was silently thanking the stars that Paris was the most girlish boy she had even seen, even more girl that a bunch of girls she knew. Momentarily she wondered if that was a bad thing, but she shook it off.

Paris glanced back at Lily and quickly picked up where she left off. "I was put in Monkshood," he said and refrained from adding any more explanation than that. He figured the less he went around saying 'But I'm a girl,' the less people would think to question it.

"I don't know if someone messed with the paperwork or what," he continued, looking Kookaburra straight in the eye as he lied. He didn't want to give her any reason to be suspicious. "I could have sworn I had it all filled out correctly when I turned it in."

He had, but that was only because he'd been too worried about what would happen if they caught him lying on the form to really think about the sleeping arrangements until he'd actually gotten here. Now he was much more concerned with keeping up appearances. He had the correct identification to help his lie if he needed it. Besides, if he was careful, how would anyone be able to prove otherwise? He knew how to dress to make it believable. He'd been doing it for years.

Gently could be a very patient person, but when she was on the job she often lost that ability. At the moment, she just stared at the girl that was seemingly talking around the apparent problem in circles.

She frowned.

"Cabins aren't just randomly assigned. If you were put in Monkshood, then your application must have said male. And since you fill them out, I have to wonder how you skipped that part."

The two junior campers were glancing at one another, and were more nervous than the request for a cabin switch should be if it was as simple as an honest mistake. Why did both of them have to ask? Why would someone mess with the paper work? And when would they have gotten the chance?

Something, she didn't know what, didn't sit right with the actress.

"How about you two explain things to me a bit better," she prompted, with an easy and warm smile, but a keen look in her eye.

Lily wanted desperately to pull a frown when Kookaburra wanted them to explain better she wondered if she should let Paris explain, but it had been her idea right. She was the one who had spun the story. It had been easy to think of, but why not know when they needed to the story to work.

She kept herself from rolling her eyes and stated clear, "I really do think it was a prank," she said looking a Kookaburra before looking to Paris, "you say you checked you form thoroughly, but who really checks to make sure they checked the correct gender."

She looked back to Kookaburra and gave a small sigh, "We filled our forms out together, sleep over and all, and my friend Alice thought it would be funny to mess with my form. She changed my form, but I noticed and changed it back. I honestly did not think she would mess with Paris', but I guess I was wrong."

She looked to Paris and pulled a frown, "Alice's little on going joke is becoming bothersome. Just because she has C cups", she huffed. She looked irritated for a moment and sorely hoped Paris would just go with her story and not change anything. In her mind, she was praying Paris just run with.

He didn't have much of a choice other than to go with it. What other option did he have, aside from telling the truth?

"She's a bit of an obnoxious brat," he agreed to Lily's story, keeping his gaze level and doing his best not to let his expression change. "Thinks she's funny, but if you want to make it my fault, then fine. I guess it was. I'm sorry. I should have paid more attention. My bad. It won't happen again. I know better now. I didn't mean to cause such a hassle."

He tried not to stress out about Kookaburra's refusal to immediately believe them and hoped he still sounded mostly pleasant even as his sentences became a little more clipped. He didn't exactly like being cornered. If he'd had more time to prepare, this confrontation would have been easier, but it wasn't something they could take their time on. It had to be taken care of now.

"Whether you believe how it happened or not, I figure it's more important to decide what we're going to do about it," he continued. "Is there any room in one of the girl cabins?" He almost added "otherwise I guess I'll have fun with the boys" but thought better of it and clamped his mouth shut before he could say it.

Gently just stared at them.

She might have been young, but maybe that made her wise in the way of wheeling and dealing, especially in younger crowds. Teenagers today were very good liars. Of course, with all the secondary lives being lived by the youth of the city it was hardly a wonder.

Still, in this case, Gently was not convinced. She saw something in their fishy demeanors and was not going to let them put something over on her. No one who had ever filled in a form more than once mistook their own gender, and now Lily seemed sure her friend had messed with it, when before she hadn't known what happened. Odd, how memory worked.

Selectively convenient.

"Alright, you two, I'm getting a little tired of this. Either tell me what really happened, or the real reason why you want to switch cabins, or be happy where you are. I'm more than willing to help you if you're having a problem with one of the other campers, or if something is making you uncomfortable, but I will not be fibbed to. I don't want to leave you in the boy's cabins, but the girl's are full. The only other option is a very old, out of the way little room. You'd have to be on your own."

Lily looked affronted at the suggestion that she was lying, the expression was genuine because she really was affronted. She usually tried not to lie directly, her approach was more to avoid the subject and she irritated because she just wanted to help her friend.

Not only that it obviously did not matter, either way Paris couldn't stay in a girls cabin looking as he currently did and they most certainly couldn't tell the truth because the truth was Paris was a boy.

"That is what happened," rather point blankly not really wanting to play this game anymore. "Paris cannot stay in a boys cabin and I am more than willing to stay with her even if it is old. We can clean it. I don't want my friend to be alone."

She hoped for her sake as she was talking to her elder her words did not come out as impatient and as saucy as she was currently feeling. She was frustrated and she just wanted the conversation to be over. She could definitely 100 percent say she did not enjoy lying even to help Paris, no matter it was her idea.

Paris almost rolled his eyes, but thought that would be asking for trouble and so stopped himself before he could give in to the reaction. He didn't even know why this had turned into an argument, nor was he all that thrilled to have it continue, if only because he couldn't guarantee he wouldn't develop more of an attitude. He knew that would be appreciated less than their apparent fibbing.

Instead, he jumped on the idea of taking another cabin, nodding in agreement with Lily. "We won't mind cleaning it. It's no big deal. We're not asking for luxury, just a solution to the problem," he said. He doubted luxury would be possible in this place either. Few of the cabins looked especially appealing to him, so he could only imagine what this out of the way one looked like.

Still, he could live with it if he had to.

"We're not having any problems with any of the other campers at all, I'm just not very comfortable with the idea of rooming with a bunch of boys. If we have to be on our own and do a little work to fix another cabin up then that's fine. We're not going to complain."
