Personality: As most would suspect, M'na has been quite affected by her years sent in near-solitude due to her continuing illness. Her almost over-friendliness seems like an attempt to make up for her years without any close friends but her family. If it were up to this rider, she would be friends with everyone she ever met - regardless of their past or personality. Sometimes, it seems almost as if she can't see the bad in people, but she just overlooks their flaws. There is a downside to her treating everyone as if they're her new best friend. Most people see her as a flirt, and in a way she is. Like the stereotypical green rider, Melina will accept affection from anyone and everyone who offers it. Her own affection, however, will be reserved for the one who is always there for her, always attentive to her needs, yet gives her enough space for her to have a sense of independence.
Since she was on forced bedrest for much of her life, Melina grabs onto any opportunity she can to explore. Even when she was ill, she would escape from her house - tiptoeing across the roof and scaling down a tree in order to visit her friends at the edge of the marketplace (which was probably the most dangerous place for her to go in a weakened state). She's not naturally the reckless type, but she has enough curiosity about the world to sometimes get herself in dangerous situations.
Her personality is actually quite similar to that of her dragon, though there's a certain hardiness to her that will help her keep Cheth focused. Since her body has begun to strengthen after receiving her flit, Melina is determined to not fall ill again. Because of this, she'll be cautious almost to the point of hesitation when it comes to potentially dangerous situations with her dragon. She'll look after Cheth very closely - and be sure that she's gaining the correct amount of weight until she's full grown. This attentiveness also extends to her friends, and her younger brother Roderick. Though Rod has looked after M'na for the majority of her life, she still has slight older sibling tendencies when it comes to his well-being, especially because he neglects taking basic care of himself.
History: She'd be the last to admit it, but it's a miracle that Melly's even alive. Up until about half a turn ago, she's spent at least 3/4s of every month bedridden with one illness or another. She's always been very frail, from the moment she was born, but that's never stopped her from trying to do everything that normal kids do (at least not until Roddy or her mother noticed). Sometime after Roderick brought her a flit to keep her company, she suddenly started growing healthier, and she's been able to be out and about for a solid half turn. Her strength is slowly building and she's even putting on a little weight, which in her case is definitely a good thing.
Immediately after their mother died, M'na and R'rick's father became moody and volatile. Thankfully, he spent most of his time at work and didn't much bother them. However, when R'rick began looking to become an apprentice in a trade, their father became inexplicably angry with him and constantly told him that he wouldn't amount to anything. For a year, R'rick was hesitant to leave for an apprenticeship because M'na would be more exposed to his violent outbursts.
When Melina first fell very ill, when Roderick had already began his apprenticeship as a tanner, she went to live with their 'aunt'. This aunt is actually an old harper friend of their mother, and took Melina on as an unofficial apprentice of sorts. Though she didn't always have strength to leave her room or even sing, Melina spent much of her time learning from Amelia, who was as much a mother figure and mentor as she was a teacher and caretaker. Since moving out of her father's house, M'na has had little to no contact with him - something that R'rick greatly influenced. As most Pern kids, though, she has adjusted well to not having any close family members (other than the over-attentive Rod of course).

Impressee Name:Personality: Cheth is as sweet as pie, and as dumb as a brick - she believes the best of everyone, and adores to gossip and chatter. She's unusually talkative and curious for a dragon, and is relatively likely to talk to another rider or even a candidate. Cheth is a follower, not a leader, and will probably be more dominated by her rider and other dragons then dominating. She would make an excellent search dragon.
