BIOGRAPHY⇛ Jinei Ryuu Shinigami was born to a small Shinobi family that had made its home in the land of water near the borders of Kiri. They were counted as a part of the village because they living relatively nearby. The Shinobi from Jinei’s family were not a clan or anything special they were simply Shinobi who had never amounted to anything. They did train with the Kiri village Shinobi in order to maintain a strong alliance as well as hone their ninja skills. Jinei as a child showed no particularly special talents he was by all means an average Shinobi.
During his years at the academy he trained as hard as possible, trying to one day become a well-known Shinobi. He thought everyday about how he would make the Shinigami family famous. He never really excelled in anything, except for when it came to tasks that involved physical strength, speed, and stamina. Due to this they decided to train him in Tai or Kenjutsu. Having no strong clan ties or Kekkei Genkai towards one or the other, they left it up to him to choose which one.
Jinei was unable to decide. As he headed home that night something strange happened. His route was normally patrolled by Kiri Nin, so he never encountered anything on the way, even though he wasn’t actually living within the gates of the village. However, something was very strange. As he was on his way home that night, he noticed the forest was quiet. Eerily quiet. He had learned about things to look for in case he was ever alone in the forest. He found himself in a situation where he knew something was wrong, but he wasn’t sure exactly what to do. He knew that if he was about to be ambushed he was being watched; he acted as if he hadn’t noticed anything heading towards his house. As he was just out of sight of the village and unable to see his home, they struck.
Two Shinobi from the land of Rain appeared. One landed on each side of Jinei. He was unsure of what to do. He hadn’t learned how to defend an attack from both sides at one time yet. Also, he didn’t have a weapon. Not even a wooden sword. The Shinobi from behind him made the first move. He drew a kunai and charged towards Jinei. The Shinobi in front jumped backwards and performed a set of hand signs. Jinei was clearly outmatched. He dove, spinning so he was flying backwards. He pulled three shurikens from his pack he threw them towards the two Shinobi. He landed on the ground rolling, so that he could see if the attack had hit them.
The Shinobi that charged Jinei had easily deflected all three shuriken with a single swipe. Jinei climbed to his feet just in time to see the Shinobi that had performed a hand sign finishing his jutsu. He created a blast of wind that threw Jinei backwards. It was so hard it slammed him into a tree branch, breaking it off. Jinei was dazed, and by the time he realized what was now going on the Shinobi were both upon him ready to tie him up. Jinei grabbed the branch in a panic. He swung it hard, closing his eyes. He whispered to himself, “Someone please help me”. He felt the branch snap and shards of wood scatter. He opened his eyes to see he had hit one of the two Shinobi, knocking him to the ground. Jinei was surprised that he had actually landed the blow. The second Shinobi was about to strike when suddenly a huge blast of wind and smoke rose around him, causing him to be unable to see. The sounds of someone moving could be heard coming from within the smoke. Jinei struggled to climb to his feet, his mind running through all the possible ways he could get out of this alive. The smoke began to clear revealing the huge blade from what appeared to be a great sword. Jinei noticed something strange about the blade it seemed to be covered with exploding tags, ”This explains that blast” He thought to himself. He followed the blade with his eyes still gripping the branch tightly ready for anything. His eyes focused in on the man he saw holding the blade. He was a large man his hands were about the size of Jinei’s head. His hair was let black and worn in a very fashionable ponytail, His eyes were pure white as if they had no pupil at all. He noticed the man wore robes similar to that of the Mizukage's formal attire. Jinei then spotted something that made his heart race. A belt with the symbol of kiri directly in the center, the belt was green but the symbol was taken directly from a headband. Jinei opened his mouth to speak when the stranger curt him off.
“It seems that not even my own country is safe any longer. Who are you?”
Jinei stammered saying his name after a moment of hesitation. He also noticed the man looked strongly around the area almost as if he couldn’t see anything, but knew where everything was. Jinei rudely waved his hands in front of the man’s face with no reaction.
“You know it is rude to do that”
“Sorry, I just.”
Jinei looked ashamed of himself. He then began to apologize franticly.
“Please forgive my rudeness; my name is Jinei Ryuu Shinigami of the hidden mist village.”
Jinei stated sheepishly, and then pointed to his headband. He smiled big after doing so as he was proud to be from the mist village. The man seemed to know exactly what he was doing even though he couldn’t see.
“Allow me to escort you home.”
“Ok, thank you”
The man and Jinei headed towards Jinei’s family home. Talking about things that have changed in the village and the way things were now as opposed to how they had been. Jinei and the man hit it off very well exchanging good byes it wasn’t until after the man had left the Jinei realized that he hadn’t gotten the man’s name.
The next day
.
Jinei was supposed to pick his specialization today. He had seen a great kenjutsu sure the day before and he knew exactly what he wanted to train in now. As he was given his final assignment by his academy instructor he was given a new sensei. His sensei would be a man by the name of Ruuk. Jinei wondered who the man was he didn’t remember anyone by that name. He wondered if he would ever meet that strange swordsman that was in the forest who had saved him. He never even got to know his name.
As he reported to the ramen shop awaiting his new sensei, he walked into the ramen shop and noticed the swordsman from the day before sitting inside eating noodles. He approached the man eagerly a big smile on his face. As he got close the man spoke to him.
“You’re late Jinei.”
“Oh I didn’t know I was supposed to meet you here, I’m waiting on my new sensei…. Wait are you my new sensei?”
“I thought you would have figured that out already.”
The two continued to acquaint themselves with one another, then headed to the training ground so that Ruuk Could get a chance to gage Jinei’s skills. Afterwards they hit the local hot springs and then … took Jinei home. Jinei went to sleep that night with great hopes and dreams. He envisioned himself as a great Shinobi kenjutsu user completing missions and making the Shinigami family known. He even was offered the Mizukage position but he declined because he didn’t want to be tied down to the village. He became a wandering Sannin just like his new master.
Awaking the next morning to a bright sunny day he exited his home quickly hurrying to the village. He made it to the village several hours before his squad was scheduled to meet. Taking the time to wander around and try to find his sensei so that he could get some extra practice in. He found him in the ramen shop again. They greeted each other as usual and then headed to the training ground after grabbing some ramen. As they entered the training ground, Jinei was given a wooden training sword and told to attack Ruuk, Jinei attacked several times and was easily deflected. He had strength and speed but he had no technique he swung wildly. His master decided to focus on this for his first few lessons having Jinei practice sword positions and stances. He made Jinei train every day for hours on end until the point where he would pass out from exhaustion. This went on for several months before they began a new lesson in ninjutsu which was a lot less physically exhausting but much more frustration for Jinei. After several months he had his ninjutsu to the average level for most genin. His master then began to work with him in taijutsu which seemed to come almost naturally to him. Though Jinei could never match his teacher do to the fact that he was simply a novice and a genin, while his master used the juken ryu and was a Sannin. Jinei and his master went on a trip one day far from the village; His master had plans of teaching him the ways of the world and how to adapt to one’s environment especially in combat.
During their trip Jinei did learn many things about the world and how to fight in different surroundings. He was also able to learn some new and interesting jutsu from other Shinobi that were met along the road. There were a few small battles but never anything that lead to any real bloodshed. Jinei and his master had developed a special bond and his master gave him a sword on the day he deemed him ready to take the chuunin exams. They began their journey back to the village.
Several days before they made it back to kiri, Jinei had a horrible nightmare. In which he saw strange eyes with dark violet swirls in them. The eyes seemed to follow him everywhere, and then they finally stopped following him. He was tired from running so he learned down to take a drink from a stream nearby; as he leaned down he saw his reflection and his eyes were swirled but a sky blue color. He screamed and just as he did there were three people around him, all of them had the same swirl design in their eyes. Jinei then even saw people he knew they were appearing all around him everyone with those eyes. They were all trying to get him and take his eyes. He ran from them stopping as he came up behind his master, thinking he was safe. He began to talk trying to catch his breath.
“There….After….Me…”
His master turned around his hand on the hilt of the blast sword. His eyes were swirled like the rest, Before Jinei had a chance to react his master swung the blast sword cleaving Jinei in half. As soon as the blade entered his body Jinei woke up screaming. He jumped from his bed grabbing his sword ready to strike at the first sign of motion. His subconscious mind taking over his body causing him to black out. His eyes opened to his master lying feet away from him. The Camp destroyed only bits and pieces of their items scattered around. Jinei crawled over to his sensei and pulled him close.
“Master, what happened who did this”
“Rinnegan”
His masters eyes widened as he looked into Jinei’s tear filled eyes as if he saw something for the first and last time in his life. Jinei let out a loud scream as his master slipped off into death. Jinei took the time to gather his thoughts, swearing a blood oath for revenge against who or whatever this Rinnegan is. After words he wrapped his sensei in the tent sheet and then used the ropes to fashion himself a backpack. Gathering his things and then carrying his sensei on his back all the way back to the village.
As he reached the gates he collapsed and was quickly found by several Shinobi that were on patrol. Rushing Jinei to the infirmary and having him debriefed immediately the mistake became aware of the situation. Jinei was kept away from everyone else in the village only a select few ANBU members were allowed to see him directly.
After several days when he was completely recovered the Mizukage appeared at his door with a single ANBU member. The Mizukage began to explain things to him about his eyes and what kind of power that they would hold. Jinei was barely able to understand what they were saying his mind was still grief ridden from his sensei’s death. Living the rest of his days in the village training preparing for the day he would find someone else with the Rinnegan.
