As the sun beat down lazily on another quiet afternoon, Zafrina rolled over onto her back, allowing the rays to graze over her belly and her back. This was her favorite place and oddly her least favorite, which could make some really awkward conversations. It didn't bother her though, she'd always been one to be looked as awkward, having stumbled into the pride not even knowing her own name, awkward was no stranger.
Sighing contentedly to herself, Zafrina rubbed her back into the warm sand, and allowed her muscles to relax as she listened to the calm, soothing sounds the beach provided. Naturally it wasn't long before those all so familiar sounds began to lull her to sleep. With a quick about face, Zafrina was on her feet and shaking herself free of the sun's soothing lullaby.
"Guess it's time to take a little walk.."
She mumbled as she trudged her way along the beach, being sure to stay as far as possible away from the ocean as she did so.

Even though at times Oceanus was a beach bum, he always didn't follow the whole bum part of it. He was up since the morning wandering across the shore enjoying the feeling of the water on his paws and occasionally on his body. He felt that it was nice and he enjoyed it a lot. He loved the feeling of the sand under his paws and the air through his mane. It was some of the best feelings in the world. He felt the most at home at the beach. If it wasn't for the beach he didn't know where else he'd spend his time.
He was mostly wandering the shore today to look for things to craft with. It was something that he really enjoyed to do in his spare time. He just really wished he had one of his siblings out here to keep him company. However now that him and his siblings had grown older they weren't around the shore as much as they used to be, this made Ocea a little sad, however he still had the water which was something nice to be around.
He pushed himself through the waves heading back toward where he started for the day. He was soaked most of the way, almost all the way up his back. The front of his mane was wet. You could say it was a bit of an amusing sight, a lion with all of the water on him. But he was okay with that. As he got closer to the shore he looked up and noticed a lioness walking. This could be his chance for some company! He smiled as he trotted toward the lioness with a smile on his face. "Hello!" He called out as he got closer to her. She seemed kind of new, or at least he was pretty sure that he had never see her there before.

Zafrina halted in her steps as the unfamiliar voice filled her ears, and with a start she slowly glanced from left to right not entirely sure whether she should be on alert or not. As she took a glance to her right she found her answer, and with her slightly fresh state of mind she figured a sopping wet, goofy looking lion couldn't be much harm.
"H-Hello, I would like to think you're a friend but would you please clarify that for me?"
The lioness smiled awkwardly and padded her feet into the warm sand, leaving a wonderful little pattern in the sand as her nervousness made itself clear.
"Please don't misunderstand, I don't mean to sound rude, I guess it's just .... habit?
Ending her sentence with a question was another odd habit or hers, and making it as unanswerable one, was that much more familiar to her.

The large lion looked at the lioness, he was a little confused at her question but as he thought about he was thinking she meant to ask him if he was friendly but he wasn't that sure. He moved closer to her and then nodded. "I can be your friend if you want." He offered, he still wasn't sure of what she wanted for an answer, but he was hoping that would be the best one to offer her.
He paused as he heard her next statement. He shook his head and offered her another smile. "Oh no miss! don't worry you aren't being rude at all." He smiled backing away from her some to shake off his coat, it would be rude for him to get water all over her. He looked at her once again before speaking. "My name is Oceanus, everyone calls me Ocea. What's your name?" He asked curiously again, he was hoping to make the lioness feel comfortable. She was pretty, he didn't want to chase her away.

There was definitely a note of confusion in the male's voice, she could hear it and it didn't take her long at all to realize why. Her comment really didn't make much sense at all, but he still seemed more than happy to answer it; and with such a wonderful answer too! Zafrina giggled a bit out loud as he back away to shake out his fur, and she tried to take a mental photograph of the scene. It wasn't all that often that she got to see sopping wet male's, even living within the pride that she did.
The humorous lion in front of her had managed to grab her full attention, whether he realized it or not and she was more than happy to answer his question - once she was done with her giggle fit.
"I'm Zafrina. It's a pleasure to meet you Ocea..."
Zafrina trailed off after calling him by the name he had mentioned others called him by, perhaps it was more of a pet name to those he was more comfortable with? She hoped for her sake that he was OK with it.
"You seem to be enjoying your day-" She giggled once more, this time attempting to hide her wide eyed smile with her paw. Very unsuccessfully. "Out for a swim? Or is there a more interesting story behind your dip?
She had to raise her voice a bit, mostly because Ocea had backed away to dry himself off. For a moment she debated going nearer to him, but on second glance, he was far too close to the waves for her liking. Perhaps if he came closer, she would as well.

Oceanus was a little confused at first of why the lioness was laughing. He really wasn't that sure at all. He smiled brightly once he realized how silly he must have looked before accompanying her laughter with his own. He looked at her before nodding his head in a bit of a bow. "It is very nice to have your company today miss Zafrina!" He moved closer to her, she seemed to be okay with his company, he was glad to have some today, he loved the water and the beach and everything that had to do with it but at the same time he really, really enjoyed company when you could get it.
He laughed once again nodding happily before nodding to her. "I've been having a pretty great day! thank you!" He smiled once again then paused. "Days like this are very nice to have, It's nice to have company though." He looked out at the water before grinning. "Well it's a bit of a mixture of both." He looked at her and then nodded once again. "You could say that it was just a dip but at the same time it has a story because I am almost always out here." He wiggled his toes in the sand under him, he stopped bothering trying to keep them clean after going in the water it was one of the biggest challenges ever. "I love the water, it is something that I've always enjoyed."

Zaf, listened intently to Ocea's every word. He was definitely an interesting lion, though she could think that solely based on her initial image of him. Then again, she was in a pride of water loving cats, that in itself was a little odd but it wasn't anything she regretted.
"Ah, well isn't that the tie that bonds all of us together? We all seem to love the water...." She paused a moment, sort of inwardly debating whether her statement was a lie. Sure, she had an unnatural fear of the water, pretty odd considering her loyalties. But in the same breath she also loved the water, it was so pretty. Ohhh and the beaches, it was a bad idea to get her started on the beach it was her favorite place to be, and she could never imagine herself fearing something like that..
"I hope you can forgive me for not getting much closer... I'm a little cautious when it comes to the ocean." Ducking her head in an act of all too familiar shame.
"I don't mean to disrespectful!" Her tone heightened as she lifted her head to gaze out at the sea, this particular statement being more directed towards it than Ocea.
"I was actually about to take a small walk, perhaps you could join me? It would definitely help to have the sun dry out your fur a bit." Zaf, smiled happily as she allowed her tail to swish back and forth slightly.

Oceanus grinned and nodded to her, he felt her words were true, how could anyone hate the water? He didn't understand it. "I think that everyone loves water." He mused mostly to himself before adding to his comment. "I mean, everyone drinks it anyway. Everyone relies on it. No water, no life." He chuckled before nodding to her. "It's a little silly if you think about it to hate water when it supports everyone and everything." He flicked his tail around before joining her by her side but pausing for a moment as she spoke. "Ah, the ocean is powerful." He smiled at the idea as he looked back at it, it was true, the ocean was more powerful then many of the lions that he had met, it was understandable to be a little cautious around it. "But you have to remember that it can only hurt you if you let your guard down.
He paused before bowing his head to her and stretching his limbs out. "It's not disrespectful at all. Don't worry." He chuckled quietly before looking at her, a walk did sound good and so did letting his fur dry. He would have to clean it later and get all of the salt out of his fur and all of the sand but again that was something that he was going to have to worry aobut later, and not so much right now. He had some nice company right now and he was more concerned about that then the salt water. "I would love to join you for a walk if you would like for me to join." He nodded again he was really hoping that the lioness would enjoy his company that was for sure. He had company often while he was in the water, so many other lions in the pride also enjoyed the water, however they were a little more come and go then he would like, however the lioness was worth him wandering away for a little while.

Ocea's words were true, it was rather difficult to say that you didn't like water when your whole life revolved around it. But it wasn't necessarily that Zaf hated it, so much as she just held a fear of it. But he was also right about letting your guard down. In her mind though, that was a lot easier said than done. But that wasn't the subject at hand, and she needed to pay closer attention to Ocea, rather than her petty fears.
"It would be nice to have some company. It's not very often than I get to take a nice stroll with anyone. Most of the lions around here prefer to swim in the ocean opposed to gazing out at it." Zafrina smiled a bit, her tail swaying slightly as a breeze ran across the beach. "So tell me, were you born here in the Bahari or did you join after a bit of traveling?"
The lioness, swayed slightly in place as she gazed around trying to decide on a direction to take. Looking to the left she could see nothing, and the right was about the same, save a lion or two trailing into the water. She decided the left was the better option and turned her feet to begin walking in that direction. Turning her head only slightly to look back at the lion behind her, double checking that he was actually going to walk with her.

Oceanus glanced toward the lioness and then chuckled very quietly before flicking his hair out of the eyes thought about it for a little bit. It appeared that she wasn't really liking the whole water situation, or for that matter didn't like the ocean. He wasn't sure how he felt about that. He was thinking that it was a little odd however at the same time he knew that it couldn't be too much of a big deal, or for that matter for him he knew that it wasn't impossible for her to become used to the water. He was hoping that was the case anyway.
She flicked her hair out of her eyes before smiling at the lioness once again. "Strolls are very nice." He paused for a moment before nodding to her and smiling again. "I really enjoy watching it." He smiled at her with a bright look once again. He really enjoyed times that he was laying around in the sand watching the water just as much as he enjoyed playing in the water. He flicked his hair out of his eyes once again. That was one of the main things that he didn't really enjoy.
He listened to the lioness's question before smiling at the lioness and nodding at her. "I was born into the pride. My family for the last frew generations have lived here. She paused once again before speaking again. "How about you? I'm pretty sure that I've never seen you around here before, I'm pretty sure anyway." He paused at the thought before nodding.

Zaf giggled lightly at Ocea as he continuously shook the hair out of his face. Still quite the funny image, to see a big lion sopping wet like this. But she listened intently to everything he had to say, quite interested in more than just the company he had to offer.
So Ocea had grown up here. That was a lovely thought, to know that you were born somewhere and always had a home. Zaf's life had never really been like that, or at least what she could remember hadn't...
"Ah i'd imagine your family is pretty big by this point huh? It must be nice to be so close to your loved ones!" Zaf had a wide toothy grin on her face as she finished off her comment. But it quickly faded as Ocea's next comment left his mouth. She wasn't entirely sure he'd want to hear her sob story... or at least what she knew of it. But giving him a quick review couldn't hurt?
Taking a deep breath Zaf began her explanation. "Well, for starters you would be right. I am sort of new here. But I can't really tell you much about my family. All I can tell you is that now I call the Bahari my home, and hopefully in a few generations, my family can say that they've been here a long time!"
Zafrina giggled with a bit of uneasiness, and her tail shook with nerves. But Ocea seemed to be a very easy going lion, she didn't get the vibe that her odd conversation would scare him away. "Thank you for coming with me Ocea, it's nice to get a better sense of where I am through the eyes of someone else."

Oceanus knew that he must look a little silly. He knew that he was happy that was for sure. ?He loved the water and he loved being near it and he really didn't mind being wet at all. To a point it was something that he was really used to. He looked at the lioness again and then nodded to her before smiling. "It is getting pretty big. To a point some of them I don't even know." He chuckled at the idea. He knew there was apparently a lot of his family in the pride but there was some that he had never met before.
He paused and then nodded. "It's pretty nice some times..." He paused as he thought before looking at them and then nodding. "Well, some times it's not that great because.. Well" He thought about it again and thought about it hard. "It's hard to explain but it's like, everyone knows you, everything goes back to your mom." He shook his head again before nodding at the female. "But other wise It's very nice to have some family around here. He paused again and then smilied at her. "I'm hoping that you will be able to have a good track for you, and I'm hoping you can achieve that goal." He grinned at her before pausing again thinking about it once again. He really was hoping that the female could find what she wanted. "Well at the moment you have a friend, thats a good start!" He laughed and then winked at her a smile was still on his face. "it's always good to have some one around to help you and keep you company." He nodded once again.

Zaf paused in her tracks as she listened to Ocea's explanation. She wished she could understand his confusion and better relate to the story he was trying to relay to her. But she just couldn't. She couldn't really remember her family, or the memories that came with that. Though his family was still quite funny! She could just imagine a Ocea doing something really silly, and heading home, only for his Mother to be waiting in the shadows. Just waiting for the perfect time to go in for the nagging.
The thought left Zaf giggling a bit as she once again picked up her pace, having only just realized she'd halted. "I suppose that's a good point. I guess you have to be very careful with the things you do, and say around here huh?"
Pausing in her words, she pondered whether her next comment would cause an odd moment between the two, but she decided that perhaps since it was all in good humor that he wouldn't mind too much. "You might wanna be careful around your mom for a few days after our walk. She might be upset to be the last to hear about your little walk today."
Continuing to listen intently to Ocea's every word, she felt extremely flattered by his final words. He was right, it was a great start for her to finally have a friend. She'd been here for quite some time now, to not know a single person.
"Thank you Ocea, I really appreciate that. You have no idea how long it's been since i've had interaction with other lions. So it means a lot to know one of the first ones I speak to, would like to call himself my friend."
Bowing her head slightly at the male, she looked up and mumbled one last thing. "I'm honored."
