Lady Gaga has announced the release date for her new music video “The Edge of Glory.” The Joseph Kahn-directed visual will debut on popular TV show So You Think You Can Dance on Thursday, June 16th. “Tomorrow during America’s SYTYCD, I will premiere the video we made for you,” Gaga tweeted. “The Edge of Glory debuts 8pm ET/PT on FOX.”
Its a really nice video just Gaga her most simplistic video yet.

yet
i felt that it was PERFECT for the music. i mean, i WAS disappointed at first not seeing anything weird,
(a part of me still wanted to see more oddity sad lol)
but remembering the music and why it was written, i saw that it worked out.....
but in the way that it was not shocking WAS shocking..... if you want shocking
in the end, gaga wanted a simple beautiful music to have a simple beautiful video.
A perfect tribute to her grandfather
in her vision of heaven
so peaceful, simple, serene wink and the more i watch it, the more i wanna watch it again lol

I really liked it. It's simple but Gaga's passion and dancing is what makes the video great. Well, at least now people can't say that she hides behind special effects and backup dancers. This is probably her most intimate video.

Joseph Kahn: Well, I'm trending worldwide again. This time for all the wrong reasons. Sigh.
For the record, some Gaga fans tweeting me here are really mean and nasty. But others are beautiful & wonderful.
I did NOT direct Lady Gaga's "Edge of Glory" video. Lady Gaga did.

I've been hearing rumours that this isn't the original video they were working on. That Gaga fired her director while on the job. I've heard a couple of rumours as to why but regardless i'm super curious now

That was pretty good actually. I thought it really embraced the 80's feel of the song, and I especially liked how she pretty much "did a shitty dance she randomly made up". Or in other words, did her own thing, letting the music guide her. I'm impressed. And I agree with Hanimonster, this may perhaps be the most shocking video she has ever released, due to what people, especially the haters and critics, have come to expect of her and her videos.

I think people don't understand the fact yet, YOU CAN'T CONTROL GAGA, GAGA CONTROLS YOU.
Unless you're a fan, then you control Gaga slightly.
I'm glad she kept it simple. Sometimes you just need to dance and not act and stuff.

In my opinion I loved the video. heart
It's really unique compared to all her other videos. 3nodding
But I agree with @hanimonster on this one. I don't think GaGa would want a weird, controversial video for a song that means so much to her and was written for her grandpa. It would be kinda sad see a song that has so much meaning to have a music video that's controversial, in a bad way, tailing behind it.
I'm also disappointed with some little monsters. I keep seeing them be greedy now days and they expect for her to make something that will keep her at top; but then again it's really difficult for someone to out-do themselves when they're already at the top. Besides we can't control her and we're not always going to be satisfied with her work since we all have different opinion and interests.
One way or another, I LOVED the video. heart

i'm going to get a lot of s**t for this but i honestly didn't really enjoy the video.
i understand the point of the song but, in all seriousness, i expected something more.
of course her director bailed on her and she had to finish it all in one day, and i do understand why it was all simple.
i just hope i get no one in here going all "HOW CAN U NOT LIEK THE VIDEO. SHOWZ UR NOT TRU LIL MONSTER"
