Wylde pushed things around from shelf to shelf trying to decide how he best wanted the items arranged as he awaited a customer to wander in. It'd been a while, far too long. All study and no fun made the mage a dull boy or at least it made him very bored and that was dangerous because he started to get all sorts of little ideas in his head that his brother often tried to extinguish as best as he could.

He stepped away from the shelves ruffling at his red hair a bit before he deemed it good enough and then hopped up to sit on the counter and just stare at the door as if it would suddenly will someone to suddenly come through it.

Maybe the Portal would allow him to give them a Foto himself instead of magicking them off without his say so it had been doing that lately it was quite irksome. Just like this lack of company was irksome.

..Irk was a funny word. He wondered what it meant quietly to himself as he waited.

For one so uncoordinated, walking with his head down has never treated Kosete very kindly. However, he is so preoccupied by the cold slush coffee drink in hand that he mistakenly walks in through the wrong doorway. His destination was one door further.

He enters abruptly and takes two large steps inside before looking up. It was mostly the change in atmosphere from the outdoors, accented by the thud of the shutting door, that drove him away from his coffee drink.

"Oh!" he exclaims after a quick swallow. He shudders a little from the slushy gulp before composing himself. "I'm sorry. I wasn't looking where I was going.. must have overshot where I should have entered."

He gestures back at the door, and takes a half step backwards before pausing to take in the decor. ".. What is this place?" he inquires with genuine interest. The man, sandy in features with broad shoulders, carries himself smaller than he is, which comes off as a sort of gentle giant composure. He gazes around the room with a child-like curiosity.

Wylde was enthralled in his thoughts but not buried in them thus upon the entry of a new patron the red haired mage leapt back into life and his feet found the floor as he slid off the counter to move toward the man before him to try and deter him from leaving the shop, "None sense! You are right where you mean to be though you might not realize it," the mage said in a cryptic tone as he moved to gently usher the individual further in as they gazed about. "This is a shop for all things mysterious and magic. It is also a shop of dreams," Wylde continued enigmatically.

"Perhaps your heart searches for something that you are not aware of, perhaps fate had led you this way." He continued on with his grand speech, "Or perhaps fate just knew I needed someone strong to help me move something. It won't take long, friend."

If one tactic failed him the other one usually worked.

"O-ohhhh.. kay!" Kosete raises an eyebrow and tilts his head back a little in his skepticism. He's not one to buy into all the hocus pocus, but he's seen enough since coming to Gaia that he's been made to believe it can happen. But it's none of this that convinces him to stay and let down his guard. It's the simple compliment about his strength that does this.

He sips his drink and looks left to right. "What do you need moved?" he asks passively, setting his drink down on the nearest surface.

Wylde grinned harmlessly as he pointed over to a small shelf off to the side that was empty and it seemed as if the man could carry it, "Being that I study the arcane arts I am a bit lacking in physical prowess," he explained sounding modest which is a feat in itself. "I can help you carry a part of it of course but I fear you will take much of the brunt of its weight."

He waited as the explanation sunk in before he continued, "I need it carried downstairs," he gestured toward a door, "but happily I'll guide you and make sure you don't get harmed. I will pay you handsomely~," Wylde said with a small clap of his hands.

"How 'bout it?"

Kosete's instincts tell him that this set up seems like a ruse that would spiral into the plot of a horror movie, but his kind and helping nature screams over these concerns. He is mildly conflicted, and being one not to realize that his face tells all, he accidentally shows it. Another glace over his shoulder at the door tells him that there are enough people outside that, if something happens to him, he could shout for help.

Unless the basement is soundproof, in which case..

"Sure, I can't pass up an opportunity to be a good citizen," he responds through a forced smile.

The man crouches down to take hold of the shelf. He overcompensates for its weight and stands up rather abruptly with the entire shelf across both arms. His confusion sets in again, but not before starting toward the stairs.

"If you can spot me, that'd be good.. wouldn't want to miss a step."

Wylde may certainly be deranged but he isn't a serial murderer - thankfully. He was really quite happy when the young man picked up the object to be moved and then the mage moved to lead the way down in to the basement being careful as he tilted his head back toward the man that was slowly and surely going into his trap.

"Okay! Watch the first step and stuff. The stairs aren't too narrow!" He assured cheerfully as he waited and made sure to stay to where he could easily support and spot the one carrying the shelf that was being carried.

It wouldn't take long before they got downstairs where a odd scene changing portal hovered above a dais sat in the middle of the basement that was set up more like a strange laboratory. The essence of magic was strong here giving small crackling feelings along the skin a bit like static electricity without so much of the shock.

Kosete notes the change in atmosphere, but having no magical training or knowledge himself, he chalks it up to the cold dark basement effect. Instead, the reality of the situation spat in the face of his optimism, as he sets down the object he's carrying.

"Hope it's okay over.. here.." He trails off, staring unabated at the strange place he's found himself in.

Immediately he raises his hands and backs himself up against a solid surface. "Hey now, I don't want any trouble..!"

Wylde just grinned smugly at the man's reaction as he wandered a bit closer, "So fearful of what you don't know, but how can I give you the payment when you're backing up my dear man?" He reached up and waved a hand in a dismissive fashion before he moved to reach into his robe to get out a small pouch. Yet at the portal the scenery stilled to a small cheerful and whimsical meadow.

There was a flash and suddenly a small square sheet floated out toward them landing between them. The mage stared down at it then up at the 'helper', "How lucky, you got more than you bargained for." He offered over the pouch that had a bit of money in it, "I suggest you take the portal's gift. It's usually pretty stingy."

At least lately it was.

Kosete is utterly baffled by the quick series of events, that he doesn't realize he's already picked up the gifts until after he accepts them. He shakes his head as if to rid himself of a trance, then stares down at the small square. He can't make out what the image is.

".. Great. Thanks." He runs his free hand through his hair out of nervousness, looking from the portal to the crazy man. "Can.. I go now? I was supposed to meet someone.."

Once the young man had everything Wylde backed off and stepped to the side. Normally there were things to be signed and stuff to be done but with the portal occasionally sending out Fotos into the unknown the Mage decided not to bother with it. It would be unfair to make newcomers adhere to old protocol that was no effectively broken.

...Or something.

"Welcome, enjoy your gift and your money," he said suddenly cheerful and friendly and gestured toward the stairs, "have fun with the person you're going to meet. Thanks for the help!"

Kosete stuffs the loot into his pocket and gives a little nod to the strange man whose intentions are still not very clear.

"Thanks. I hope they're still waiting for me," he says with an awkward, dry laugh.

He ascends the stairs in a rush. What a weird little place.
