AMITYVILLE ACADEMY ENROLLMENT FORM
Name: Hel Brynhildr
Nicknames: None at this point in time
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Faction/Race Reaper / Valkyrie
Natural Ability:
-Lament- Valkyries are said to be able to sing with a voice so sad it stops their opponents in their tracks.
Personality:
-The Oreo Curse-
Back in the prime of her reaping days, Valdis, Hel’s mother, was enamored with a reaper that another one of her fellow valkyries also coveted. It became a quarrel for the reaper’s affections until Valdis eventually came out on top, to which the other valkyrie in a jealous rage scorned her. She wished a curse upon their offspring, to which Valdis took no heed, as she haughtily believed her family to be untouchable by such a fit of jealousy. Eight healthy, valkyrie ghouls to be later, the threat of a curse was nearly forgotten, until the ninth and last ghoul sprouted from the pumpkin patch.
The curse caused a split in Hel’s appearance, causing one side of her to be dark and one side to be fair. In addition to this visual rift, the ghoul could be considered the “runt” of the family, as she isn’t as tall as any of her sisters when they were her age. Hel takes this “curse” in stride though, and instead makes it out to be a blessing that she is rather special and destined to do great things one day. Anyone daring to make a harsh negative comment about her appearance might find a fist in their face…
-Geared Towards Battle-
Coming from a long line of Valkyries and the youngest of nine sisters, Hel’s thoughts and personality are geared around battle, the thought of battle and the act of battle. Battle can be just about anything as well, and there’s one thing Hel likes about battle, its winning. She’s a sore loser and to lose means that she’s not a good warrior. The reaper also kind of subscribes to the logic “jump first, ask questions later”, which can be a blessing and a curse. She isn’t out to pick fights by any means, but she can be easily provoked into action with the push of the right buttons. When prompted she can become energetic and even aggressive, and isn’t afraid to get dirty and physical.
That being said, Hel often looks towards others in a simple but observing light. They are friends, enemies, warriors or not, and will assess those she meets as to what category she thinks they fall under. It’s nothing personal if she doesn’t think you’re a capable warrior, it just means you’re slotted for another role.
-Honor and Loyalty-
Almost anyone who isn’t an enemy can be considered a friend in Hel’s book, but a good friend has Hel’s respect and loyalty. A good friend is someone she’d take a bullet for. As with any other friendship, one has to prove their worth to be considered a good friend to Hel. Also as a warrior, she takes the concept of honor very seriously, and if hers and her friends’ are insulted somehow, she will try to make amends to restore it.
-Do What You Say, Say What You Mean (One Thing Leads to Another)-
The ghoul holds these words dear. A failure to back up one’s words could possibly cause a loss of Hel’s trust and for her to look down upon you. When she makes a promise to someone, she intends to keep it. This is not to be confused with banter or statements that express frustration though. If Hel threatens to slurp your intestines like noodles, she’s not really going to do it (hopefully); she’s just trying to intimidate you.
-I Will Emote the Usual Emotions-
If she’s happy, you’ll know, if she’s angry, you’ll know that too! Hel is easy to read in that aspect, but what she won’t let others know, is if she feels sad, upset, scared, or inadequate. She finds these feelings to be a weakness that others could exploit if they knew, thus she will fight tooth and nail to keep these feelings to herself. If it looks like someone might be catching on, the reaper will often deny them, try to do something to cover them up, or even possibly remove herself from company entirely until the emotions are under control.
-Quirky Humor-
While her sisters are loud and rambunctious, Hel can be considered a bit of the opposite. To get attention in her family, she will often be quiet and pipe up with an odd sense of humor and observations when the moment is right. On the blade of her spear is the word ‘famine’ and she carries around an empty bowl called ‘hunger’. Hel is rather proud of her cleverness and humor in these items. An outlandish dream she has is to one day be the ruler of her own realm and with her own army. But the back up plan in case that doesn’t happen is just to be a successful and accomplished reaper, worthy of leading the slain.
-It’s Too Quiet, I Can’t Focus!-
Coming from a large household, Hel is use to having noise. Dead silence irritates her, so to fill it she can often be found singing, listening to music, or even studying in a populated place. The reaper will also have the tendency to leave her door open to her dorm, or even sit in her doorway just to have sounds so that she can focus on tasks.
Misc Info:
-Hobby!-
A hobby that Hel picked up ever since she was young was working with leather and metals. She loves to make things ranging from leather bracelets with metal charms, to bags, to shoes with metal plates (as shown by the boots she wears). She loves to create things with her hands, and will often make things for friends as well.
-The Magical Apron-
The reaper often wears an apron with any of her outfits. It’s something to wipe her hands on when they get dirty and more importantly, store objects within the pockets! One will be amazed with how much she can store within her apron. Items can range from rubber bands, paperclips, bandages, cookies, crackers, pens, and to anything else she happens to stuff into the pockets at the time. No one can exactly explain how her aprons can hold so much, only that they just do.
Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? Honestly? To get away from her family for a spell. She loves them dearly, but the thought of not being smothered is nice, and the idea that Amityville Academy can help her hone her skills as a warrior? While also being the best of the best (worthy of her attendance)? It’s a bonus! There’s no reason not to go! Plus, attending the academy she’s bound to meet many different, potential warriors.
FEAR:
-Chosen to be Slain-
Except not as drastic. In battle, Hel is able to select an opponent and he/she/it will feel like they are experiencing fatigue. It would negatively alter their battle performance for a short time.
As Hel grows, so will the ability. The goal is to be able to select an opponent and put them into a temporary state of sleep, hopefully rendering them incapable of battling until they awoke.
