Claire always thought that a prince would come rescue her from that forsaken castle. No she was sent off with one of the head knights to the country. After traveling for two days they had arrived last night. Looking outside the sun had just rose. So she decided to get up. Making sure she was properly dressed before leaving the room. Actually feeling bad for the knight she decided to cook him breakfast. Going into the kitchen she smiled to see everything fully stocked. People from the palace would come by once a week to stock everything. So she began her task of making pancakes for the knight. Soon the smell of pancakes and bacon filled the cabin. This princess knew how to cook. Even if her mother couldn't stand the idea of lifting a finger. It was servants work, but she liked cooking. So she began to set the table and everything that was usually done for her. She enjoyed doing everything actually. It wasn't so bad after all. The princess smiled and put a strand of brown hair behind her ears. Taking her apron off from her pretty blue sun dress she smiled. She could pull off the simple peasant act. At least until war was over. Then she had to go back home.

Price had quickly woken up at the smell of breakfast, he knew the only people in the house were the princess Clair and him but he thought she was a brat at times as she did of herself too high and mighty for her own good. Price had dressed himself and entered the room where the princess was; knowing almost no etiquette as he was trained to be a knight and learn chivalry he didn't know how the [Fancy people] did it as the were called. "It smells really good. I hope you had a good nights sleep and were not up for to long."

"No sir I just woke up." She said as she placed the pancakes on the table. Bringing the bacon over next then a pitcher of milk. "Please sit down and eat as much as you like. I hope it is to you're liking." The princess smiled as she finished her cooking. "I wanted to think you properly for doing this. I know Father is paying you, but I'm sure you would rather be on the front lines. I'm just the only child, and well the only heir. So I want you to know as the next ruler I'm honored to have one of my father's knights protecting me."

Price a bit flustered as he didn't expect the kindness sits down "Thank you I appreciate it, will you be taking a walk later? If so I will prepare as soon as possible." Price takes a bite and thinks to himself "Oh my God, home cooking is so good compared to that crap they feed us." After a couple more bites he smiles at Clair "This is really really good."

Claire smiled brightly, "I'm glad you like, no one has ever ate my cooking before. Well not willingly." She sat down across from him still smiling. Her brown hair was tied in a bow reaching up she tightened it. Placing a napkin in her lap she sat up properly. Not that she much choice, she was just taught that way. "Father said I wasn't allowed to leave this place." Frowning a bit before smiling again she didn't mind. It was just a slightly smaller cage then back home after all. And she could go outside but she couldn't leave the fence.

Price frowns a bit after hearing they are stuck in the house basically twenty-four seven. "I am sorry about that. I guess he is trying to look out for you. Well what would you like to do for the rest of the day? There is not much here but I am up for whatever you are."

"Oh you are free to come and as you please. As long as you are sure I am safe. I am to stay here. Though it looks like rain later." Claire looked out the window. It was a bright blue sky, but she could smell the rain that would come in a few hour's time. "I guess we could talk, unless you would like to go to the village. I honestly don't mind. Its like this in the castle. I would hate to drag you down with me."

"Oh no I am to stay within hearing distance of you at all times until told otherwise by the king and talking is nice, what would you like to talk about? I may not know much but I have graduated school at least."

"Well umm." Claire thought about it as she took another bite of her breakfast. "Why did you become a knight for my father's army. Did you want to or were you forced to." Claire didn't know much about the politics. It wasn't her place as a princess. Even when she became queen she wouldn't be able to know much. "I want to know everything about the kingdom, but I'm always locked up in the west wing of the castle. So really you are the first knight I've ever meet. Usually I'm alone with my ladies in waiting. They don't like me very much though. And I'm not really suppose to talk to men/"

"Well I joined to serve my country, and it is an honorable profession. I mean your father is a great leader and well respected by his troops. I was assigned here as I volunteered. I did it as I truthfully am not ready for the front lines like most of my friends yet I am better then the level of teaching they have me on so i was perfect for protecting you, it is really comfortable here and plan to keep you safe at all costs, even if it means my own life."

"No need for that. Unless my mother's brother turns against him. We are so far from the war after all. The closest kingdom to us is his after all. I wouldn't think he would turn against my family." Claire smiled again, she didn't intend on letting him die for her. After all all she was, was a face for the government. If her mother had a son she wouldn't even be here. "Then could you teach me how to wield a sword...please. I mean I've always wanted to at least wield one properly. I'm not suppose to fight, but my father thinks you will be fighting off the enemy everyday and I'll be reading." It was true her father didn't care if she was entertain or not. All he cared about was if she could be used as a peace treaty.

Price leans back a bit and thinks about it "Well I guess it couldn't hurt. We will use wooden swords and your going to use padding so give me some time to make some alright? I can't have the inspector that comes at the end or every week seeing any marks on you or I will hang for it."

"For you're information I don't intend on letting that creepy old man lay a finger on me." Claire hated the inspector with a passion. He wanted her hand in marriage and she refused to speak to him. "I asked for my old nanny to come instead. She will check me, not him. If he lays a finger on me you are to kill him." Claire wasn't kidding either, she really hated that man. "Anyway, Nanny knows and will understand. As long as I'm happy she doesn't mind." Another bright smile as she finished her breakfast.

"Yes ma'am as you wish i will kill the inspector if he lays a finger on you. Now that we have finished that wonderful breakfast would you like to learn hand to hand combat instead of sword combat until the items have been made?"
