Kelda was at her wits end, the litter she and a blue nothing had produced was now gone, adulthood reached. She felt abandoned, even though she was sure it was hard for all, but for the best. Everyone had that moment in their life where their parents were just burdens and Kelda guessed she had reached this status.
Not realizing it she had reached the border of a pack, the pack consisted of her kind. It wasn't until she was extremely close that she had started paying attention. The smells threw the poor hyena off, but she was deep in mourning at the growth and departure of her family. Danger didn't seem to be waiting for her so she began the idea of deserting the pack, then an odd thought struck her.
Was a pack not like a family?
The thought skittered through her mind, a brief flash before disappearing as a bewildering thought, but her paws held firm and she waited. Her eye's glazing over just slightly as she looked to the darkening sky for answers.

Kidogo Mifupa skipped along the dirt ground, jumping over bones and rocks alike. He wasn't happy in this pride being split by half his family but he made the best of it. He often masked his true colors under a harsh new face. He was known for being an a*****e with a quick witted tongue and hostile temperament. however he only acted that way to keep the real nasty hyenas from taking away from him. Truth was he was actually very kind and sweet, he often felt really guilty for the way he acted but he felt like he had to in this pack.
In fact one of his closest friends was a pink wild dog slave. Mkali mmoja and him had met when he noticed the pup was close to starving and he shared a bit of his measly meat. Now they hide behind bones and play games with the small bones and rocks they find. They have become the closest odd friends in the pack. But they both understood that under any circumstances they must hide their friendship for each others own safety.
He made his way down to see his secret friend when someone caught his eye. He got closer to see who it was, he did not recognize her. She had a black pelt with green markings and a great green mane. He walked into her site and nodded hello. He was careful in case she was one of the psycho or hostile hyenas in the pack.

The small hyena startled Kelda out of her thoughts, she would have grimaced, shouted and made a stink about being startled, but his young eyes were full of kindness and compassion, but wariness. She broke into a large grin, this was the first pup encounter she'd had since her little birdies had flown the 'nest'. Tears nearly grew in her eyes, but she fought them, the pup would not understand, so she figured it'd be best to avoid the question of why she was upset.
"Hello..." She whispered this gently and kindly, ears flicking back in hopes she showed no aggression and she appeared as friendly as she wanted to be. Kelda was not used to this, she just knew how to be a Mom, not what to do when it came to anyone else's pups, perhaps he would not react well to kindness? She eyed the pups maw, he appeared to have a long while practicing grimacing and being angry, she watched his expression closely.
"Is everything alright?" She had yet to see the bones covering these packlands, yet to experience what he experienced and knew nothing of the day to day life, she didn't even know what pack life was.
