So he was a student now, Roch thought as he looked up at the massive dorm building. He had claimed a room the night before, but it was still almost as bare as it had been before he got there. His bag of stuff was tossed in the corner, waiting to be unpacked, but he didn't really feel like going inside right now. No, now was the time to explore.

He looked around, then closed his eyes, spinning in a circle and pointing in a random direction. When he opened his eyes he found that his finger was pointing directly at a dead tree, right next to the dorm. So, with a shrug, he turned to the right, heading up the road that led to the school. Maybe, he thought, he'd find someone that could show him around.

Roch kept finding himself looking to the side, checking out the territory. This wasn't like home. It seemed so... empty compared to home. Back when he walked down Croost Street he would have seen half the neighborhood by this time, been yelled at by old Mrs. Wheedle for forgetting to zip his fly or something, only so she could try and wave him over to grope his a**--

Nope, this wasn't home. He was so busy thinking on the differences that he almost ran into the girl heading down the road his direction. "Oh, uh, sorry--" he said, only to blink. "Claire?"

He blinked, then gave her a crooked grin, shoving his hands a bit deeper into his pockets. "One or two," he admitted. "I got here just in time to go to the open house, but didn't hear the paperwork had gotten through until late last night." Should he tell her about the whole episode with Lizzy? Nah.

"So uh... I kinda have no clue where everything other than the cafeteria is," he finished. "Oh, and the library. I saw the library. I thought I'd look around some more, y'know, now that I'm a student."

He glanced down at her stomach for just a second, curiously. But that was kinda rude, right? So he stopped. She was really short in real life, wasn't she, he thought.

"Um... okay?" he said. "I mean, seriously? Haven't you been here long enough to take classes or anything?" he asked. "I've met Riley, though. She's really... purple, which is pretty cool, though. And she's awesome at flipping booths. You shoulda seen it!" he said, cheering up as he remembered the scene. "What about people that like to cook? You know some of those, right?" Which he just assumed, considering her thing for food.

"Oh, hey, you play a guitar, right?"

What the jack was up with this conversation? It was probably his fault, too, he thought, letting out a little laugh. He kept jumping from subject to subject, because that seemed to be what she was doing. He watched the unconscious movement, filing it away in his mind but not saying anything about it. Not yet, hell, maybe she had as many things she didn't want to talk about as he did.

"You wanna explore with me?" he asked. "Since you seem as lost as I am, almost."

He started down the path silently for a while, glancing at her once in a while as he tried to think what to say. Sure it was easy to talk to her over groanspring, one asked a question, the other answered it, right? "Hey," he started out, "Did you go to Open House?"

Which was kind of a sore point for him, actually, but he wasn't about to admit it. One good thing was that she hadn't seen him in a skirt. Unless someone showed her pictures, that is. But he still woulda liked to have... you know, seen her. Then again, it didn't really matter now, did it? He was here now, he could hang out with her whenever he wanted.

But did he want to? She was still a gluttony demon, just like his ma was...

"You spend a lot of time finding those facts of the day, huh?" Roch said, trying not to laugh. Okay, yeah, this was definitely worth hanging around for. He could just picture her wracking her brain, trying to come up with some 'fact' and even searching some really goofy books to back her up-- A snort escaped him, which turned into a full out laugh as he pictured her watching her "favorite show" while searching for her "facts."

"Oh, uh," he said, forcing himself to stop laughing. "I've met Mot, and seen a couple of others, but other than him, not really. Then again, with the Pink Bandit, who needs more reaper pals? Oh, and I got Demi, even though I think he's in the monster dorms. And you and Danny. Not bad for a new boil. And Lizzy seems nice," he added with a shrug.

"He looks remarkably good in pink," Roch said evilly. "But he's a real laid back guy with a gambling addiction, as far as I can tell. First reaper I've met that I actually like." He didn't like his old man, and he didn't much like himself, either, so yeah.

He kept walking, not really paying attention to what direction they were going. "Hey, you told Danny you'd join the music club if we started it, right?" he asked her. "Got any ideas what we should do as a club?"
