today, i just did the obsidian sanctum and the eye of eternity for the first time.
i felt like just a damn idiot the whole time. the eye of eternity was okay with me until it got to the 3rd stage where the platform shattered and you had to control a drake. i didn't know what i was supposed to do so i just sat there on the drake and ended up dying because i was getting attacked and didn't know what i was doing. after that, i got lost in the space-type place after my guildies killed the boss, and i couldn't find the portal that took you out, so i had a guild mate guide me to it. i'm pretty sure i was flying around for ten minutes.
THEN we did the obsidian sanctum. after we cleared the mobs in the room and went to kill the boss, all the DPS were supposed to be on the left side. and since i was a mage, and i was supposed to be on that side, i went to the right side with the tank+healer, and the same guide mate that guided me to the portal in the eye of eternity told me "iqqu, all the dps go on this side". baaaaawh, i felt like so an idiot. :<

Aww, don't feel bad. I've done the same, heading into something and not knowing what I was supposed to do. Just ask before the fighting begins or tell your guildies that you're new to the instance/raid and usually people are pretty nice about telling you whats going on. ^^
