Astra....had had enough
No seriously, she had had enough
She didn't like jericho. No, she pretty much hated the guy. Hated him for calling her a pipsqueak. Hated him for being so much bigger then her. Hated him for him being a fire breathing dragon that wanted to see her burn because she was just doing what any good fairy would do. He insulted her, so she tried to get him back by stealing something that he was giving away for free. And now he hated her even more because of it.
But that was before the field trip.
Most students had been utterly traumatized by the experience and were still trying to get over it. Astra was no different, but for her, the experience had done more then to just terrify the fairy out of her wits. She had long since realized that what she had seen in the fog were merely illusions, but those illusion were based upon a real person, one who could easily turn into a that large fire breathing dragon and kill her. One that very much wanted to.
So, after much thinking, fuming, planning, and waking up in the middle of the night screaming. "DON'T EAT ME", the fairy decided that she should try to at least get him to the state that he didn't want to kill her. And how would she do that?
By bribing him, of course.
She had spent some time trying to find objects that would be considered something a dragon would want, as well as some dice. Eventually she had managed to amass a (very) small pile of pumpkin seeds ( her own salary she got from her parents), some bottle caps (they looked shiny...), some glass beads, and finally, 5 dice pieces (she had managed to trade a pumpkin seed to some of the gnomes for the dice. She thought of stealing them, but then jericho might get pissed if he found out). Putting all of this into a small tie up bag, she flew towards the monster dorms.
Now, she stood outside jericho's room looking up at the numbers on the door, and wondered...exactly how she was going to give the bag to him. She hadn't thought this far ahead. She could always just tie it to his door, but someone else might take it. The inside of his door? that involved going inside...and she didn't want to do that. She didn't want to be anywhere inside his room. That could prove dangerous. Maybe she should just knocked on the door and once he opened it, throw it at his face and fly off?
yeah, that sounded like a good idea.
She brought her hand to the door ready to knock on it when she paused, thinking for a moment.
....what if he was in his natural form?
Astra almost panicked, trembling at the mere thought of talking to him when he was a dragon, and began to creep away from the door. No...no maybe she wouldn't give it to him now. She could just giv it to him when he was in paint ball. Yeah, yeah! That sounded much better...

There was certainly no love lost between him and the fairy. Jericho often tried to just avoid her if possible as dealing with her often gave him a headache and sometimes a popped vein. After all, aside from insulting him and his treasure, he had found her sneaking around his room while he was giving out kobolds.
To him, she was an incredible annoyance.
So when he found her trembling outside of his door as he was returning to his room from his class, he was not all too pleased. Narrowing his eyes at the sight of her, he made his way over. She better have not been planning on trying to break into his room. Otherwise he'd have one hell of a mess later on to clean up.
"You have ten seconds to explain what the hell you're doing here," he growled, "Ten... Nine..."

Sadly, Astra had not even thought about jericho not being in his room, and so as she edged away from the room she ended up bumping into something, or more appropriately, someone. Blinking, she looked up only to see the very person she had...hadn't..wanted to see.
You could see the color drain out of astras face and even her wings which seemed to go quite white as she stared up at jericho.
"......" Her mouth moved, but nothing came out of it. She couldn't think of one coherent thing to say. Nothing. Her brain just wouldn't work. Except to tell her you better get your a** moving right this minute.
Which she did, except, she didn't see where she was going, and ended up flying into the wall instead.

Clenching his fists, Jericho was just about to make a grab for Astra when she suddenly bolted off... into the wall. Had it been in a place not right outside his room, he probably would have actually laughed at that sight. Glowering at the faerie, he continued on to try and swipe her.
"Just what the hell do you think you're doing?" he snarled, "You should know better than to be sneaking around my place! Or are you that bored that you just want to play the 'piss Jericho off' game? If so you're doing one hell of a job of it."
"Now you better give me a damn good reason why you're here or by Tiamat's s**t I will kick your a** right out of here."

The impact into the wall had momently knocked astra to floor, stunning the fairy long enough for Jericho to pick her up by the scruff of her shirt. It was then she decided to come around, and she was face to face with, yet again, a pissed of dragon.
She just had no luck with these kind of things.
Again she was at a loss for words, shaking and too petrified of the boil to explain properly whatshe was doing here. But she had to say something, she had to! otherwise he might really flame her.
"...mmmIjustwantedtogiveyousomethingsoyouwouldstoptryingtokillmesohereyougopleasedon'teatmeIdon'twanttogeteaten"
...yeah, that was real smooth.

The dragon stared hard at the little faerie with a rather intense look in his golden eyes. He soon rolled them as Astra started babbling stuff out at high speeds. Jericho couldn't even make out everything but he did manage to pick out small snippets here and there.
"I wouldn't want to eat you," he sneered, "There's hardly any meat on you and besides you'd probably taste bad."
Pausing, he added, "So let's try this again. What are you here for? Try speaking a little more slowly."

Well....at least he wasn't going to eat her, right? Although Atrs wasn't sure if she wanted to take that comment as a insult or reassurance that her life wasn't in danger.
Even so, it seemed to calm Astra down long enough for her to think about what she wanted to say, but the intense look he was giving her was still making her tremble.
"I...j-j-j-ust w-w-wanted t-t-to...."
Okay, maybe not
Instead of talking, she quickly held up the small bag she had been holding, head downcast and eyes closed as if she was preparing to be hit. She didn't say anything else, hoping that jericho would get the idea.

This was starting to get a little frustrating, as the faerie was having difficulty speaking. The first time she had blabbed it out too quickly and now she couldn't get her words out.
Before saying anything else, Jericho glanced down at the little bag she was holding and stared at it for a few moments. Without putting her down just yet, he took it and held onto the little package.
"What the hell is this?" He asked while looking at it. The thing better not be some sort of thing ready to spring out at his face or be a pile of dung in a bag. He couldn't smell anything like that, but a charm could have been placed on the damn thing or something along those lines to mask such an odor.

As soon as the bag was taken, astra looked up to see what he was doing and hoped he would decided to put her down now, but instead he still held her up. It looked like she wasn't going to be let off the hook just let, though she hoped she would be soon, she didn't like being held up like this...
However instead of him opening the bag, he was regarding it as if she put a curse on it or something. While that was surely a tempting idea, she had nowhere near the fear power nor the knowledge to do curses or hexes. She doubted anyone in their year would be able to do that.
"It's...Treasure..." She said quietly, hands now busing themselves in poking each other while she looked at the ground again.

For a moment, Jericho's gaze shifted over towards the Faerie as she mentioned it was treasure. He then glanced at his doorknob, but it seemed there had been no tampering with it so she couldn't have broken in and stashed some of his things. Even so, he wasn't too sure if he could trust her.
Not wanting to let her down, he pulled open the bag with his mouth and glanced inside. The contents were not things he owned and he took a moment to look at what he could so. He'd have to look at them more closely in a bit.
Turning his attention back towards Astra, he slowly placed her down.
"Why are you giving me this?" he asked in a less angry tone.

The time it took for Jeircho to open the bag and look at whats inside then to put her down on the floor had felt like forever to astra. She had held her breath at some point afraid that he was going to take one look at the contents then throw it away calling it trash. But no, he had let her down, and he seemed less angry too.
The fairy didn't bolt for cover when she was let down, choosing to continue her staredown with the ground instead while playing with her fingers in a nervous gesture
"...Cause...I...you...fire...er" She began to stumble over her words while trying to explain her reasoning, and ended up just mumbling the explanation in a very small voice. "I don't want you to keep wanting to flame me because I went into your room cause I was mad you said I was short and you didn't like me so I wnated to prove just cause I was short doesn't mean you can say tings like that and you were giving those out for free anyway

Not emptying the bag yet, Jericho crossed his arms and stared at Astra, waiting for the explanation. She started off with the nonsense again which was pushing him closer towards the rage, but then she finally speaking. Sort of. With how softly she spoke, he had to strain his ears to pick up on the words.
The explanation was another thing that was unexpected for the dragon.
"Look. You are short. That's not something you can deny. Saying that you're short doesn't necessarily mean you are incapable of things," he murmured, "For another thing, the fact that you were sneaking around made it seem like you were up to no good. How the hell was I supposed to know you were after an egg and not something else?"

Hearing jericho call her short made her antenna bristle with anger, but she quickly stamped that down. It didn't sound like he was trying to insult her..and sadly it was true, no matter how she wanted to deny it. But regardless of the fact that she was short, she didn't want to be reminded of it. She loathed people calling her that. It made her feel weak, useless, and above all, like she didn't matter because she could easily be overlooked.
As for being up to no good..well, of course she was! She had a reputation to uphold. Although explain this to jericho was going to backfire regardless of how she phrased it,so she opted to just frowning at the floor and pretending she was actually standing up to him instead.
"Well, I don't like being called short! I really hate it. It's like someone calling you a reptile. It's not like it's wrong, but it's still being mean and you wouldn't like it if someone called you that now would you?"

Jericho let out a snort at her reply.
"Only it is wrong. Reptiles are cold blooded. My kind is warm blooded. If you look at the skeletal structure of a lizard, it's different from how a dragon stands as well," he murmured, "It's like me calling you a butterfly because you have the wings."
Letting out another huff, he stared at her more critically.
"But I get your point."

..Say what?
Astra looked up at jericho at this point, a confused look on her face. he...wasn't a reptile? How did that work? He talked about stuff like skeletal structures and how he was warm blooded, but that didn't quite make sen in her head. He still had scales all over him..and sharp teeth..and horns. Although she wasn't about to dispute this fact. If he said he wasn't a reptile then..he probably wasn't. She didn't know a hole lot about dragons anyway.
But it seemed she had gotten through a little, cause he was at least seeing her point. Although that left her in a awkward situation now. What was she supposed to say next? Having a conversation with jericho that didn't involve them throwing insults had never crossed her mind, so she decided to say the next thing that popped into her mind.
"So...How did you learn to breathe fire?"
....Why couldn't she think of better things to ask?
