Since the food in the cafeteria was simply edible, Shun occasionally went to the nearby town to grab a meal if he had the chance. Normally, he'd just get some take out so he could eat in the comfort of his own room. Some of the restaurants were nice and all, but a number of them were rather noisy. This way, he also didn't really have to deal with anyone. Waiters and waitresses sometimes were a bother.

Having grabbed himself something for later tonight, he was strolling his way back towards the dormitory with the bag in hand. He wasn't in so much of a rush, so he was going at his own pace.

Perched upon his shoulder sat his miced tea as usual. He enjoyed these mini excursions quite a bit. For one thing, he sometimes was given little treats at the counters. It didn't happen all that often, but some owners were nice enough to do so.

That aside, it was always nice to get out. Bent-Tail enjoyed new sights and sounds and all.

Moure hadn't actually gotten a chance to look around the campus yet, so the patchwork had decided to familiarize himself with the roads and potential pathways. It was always good to know paths and such for when he needed to run an errand for someone.

Plus, knowing the paths would also be useful for when he decided to go jogging.

As such, Moure was taking a run around the campus. Judging by the map he'd looked at (for about thirty seconds, maximum) eariler, he was somewhere around the...cafeteria? Right? Ergg, he probably should ask directions from someone.

He looked over his shoulder to see if he'd passed anyone he could ask for directions, still running (it usually took willpower on the patchwork's part to STOP running before getting to a destination, after all), and seemed to go around a corner.

And while rounding that corner, it seemed the patchwork runner had managed to plow directly into another student. Moure just bounced back from it and landed on his feet, but the patchwork hoped the other student was alright. Getting charged into at high speed by what could be considered the "tank" race of the undeads probably wasn't going to be well recieved on the other student's end, both physically and mentally.

Halloween was often full of surprises, as something that could be expected of a place that reveled chaos to some degree. Suddenly getting plowed into by a patchwork at high speeds was definitely a big surprise for the day for Shun. He really never saw it coming and therefore hadn't much of a chance to even try to teleport out of the way before feeling the other student ram right into him, sending him bouncing back a fair distance.

Suddenly finding himself on the ground, the reaper let out a groan while trying to figure out what the hell just hit him. He spotted his bag of food not too far off, and further away, was a patchwork student. He looked fairly different from the other patchwork he had seen at the school, the igor from Fitness.

Thankfully, Bent-Tail hadn't been harmed in the collision. He fell off of his owner, but landed pretty soundly on the grass nearby. The mouse was a bit stunned, but he was alright. Once he got his bearings, he scampered over towards Shun to see if he was alright.

"Watch it..." grumbled the reaper, who wasn't all too happy with being plowed into like that. Still a little dazed from the impact, he was slowly working on getting back to his feet. Most likely he ended up with a scrape and bruise or two there, but he didn't bother checking right now.

Moure watched with a growing grimace as the other student was knocked backward. He noticed the miced tea creature flying off, and the bag following quickly after.

"Oh, shoot." Moure made his way toward the downed boil. The other student looked rather human-like, so the patchwork could only assume the person he'd plowed into was a reaper.

Quickly, Moure picked up the bag he'd seen flying through the air, and continued toward the other student. After a few moments, the patchwork had gotten to where the boil had been launched to. The athletic runner offered his hand out to the dazed reaper. "I'm so sorry. I usually do watch where I'm running..." The brown-haired patchwork trailed off with a slight frown, which was actually directed at his own foolishness of not looking for once.

Moure, still naturally being efficient, he realized he could ask this boil for directions. He'd wait until the reaper didn't look so dazed first, though.

Getting his senses back to him, Shun shook his head then glanced up at the patchwork that came by to apologize and offer to help him up. For the moment, he narrowed his eyes and just pushed himself to his feet, dusting himself off as well. Well at least the other student apologized, but he still wasn't too happy about the collision.

"Yeah yeah," he murmured before taking note that the other had picked up his food. It didn't look like the contents inside the container there have spilled out, but it was a little hard to tell.

"Can I get my food back?" he asked with a frown.

Turning around to see the patchwork come up, Bent-Tail stared up at the other boy. Oh! He hadn't seen this one around before. With a friendly sort of squeak, he waved up at the zombie from his point on the ground.

When the other brushed off his offer to help, Moure mentally just shrugged. While he usually jumped at the chance of helping someone, he didn't want to upset the reaper any more than he already had.

First day, and he'd already irritated another student. Well, this was just great.

"Hm? Oh, this is food?" Moure asked, holding out the bag carefully. He didn't want to spill it, if that was the case. Too many bad accidents back at the labratory had happened from things getting spilled, so the patchwork held the bag out as gingerly as he could to the boil he'd knocked over. "Here..."

"Is your pet okay?" Moure was now regretting not bringing Gibralter, a boogeymon that usually perched on Moure's shoulder and accompanied him. If he had, perhaps Ralt could have communicated better with this little miced tea. In any case, it didn't look wounded. Actually, it seemed to be...waving? Was it waving at him? And squeaking a bit, too, it seemed. Maybe it was saying it was alright? Feeling a bit silly, Moure returned a hesitant wave to the miced tea.

Looking back at the owner of the creature, Moure spoke again, still feeling bad for crashing into him like that. "Is there anything I can do to make up for running into you?" Moure could do that, at least. Maybe he could buy him another lunch if that one was damaged?

Taking the bag, Shun went on and peeked inside. To his displeasure, the food had been splattered all around the inside of the plastic bag. It was quite a mess, but he supposed it was good that the contents hadn't actually gotten all over the ground.. or himself.

When his pet was brought up, he glanced down towards Bent, who seemed to be perfectly fine. The little mouse was just being his usual friendly self.

"He's fine. He does that," he said before looking up towards the patchwork, "My lunch kinda got smashed. A replacement would be nice."

Seeing the wave back, though tentative, Bent bounced in place before racing to climb up the reaper to go back to his perch upon his shoulder. There, he decided to wave again before sitting still in the meantime.

Moure watched as the reaper opened the bag, and it seemed that the lunch had indeed found it's demise. At least that's what it seemed like at that moment.

As the other student mentioned the little mouse was alright, Moure gave a nod. He felt a bit better since he hadn't accidently hurt the little creature.

As the reaper told him the lunch had indeed met it's horrible smashed fate, Moure nodded again. Then he spoke, naturally going into his errand-running mindset. "Alright then. Where did you get your lunch from, what was it, what direction was the store, and how soon do you want it by?" The patchwork rattled off the usual perimeters for a food run. This he could do. It was practically running an errand, after all.

Then the little miced tea waved at him again after it had scurried up and taken position on the reaper's shoulder. Seemed that it was indeed alright. At that, Moure returned the wave again, at a bit of a loss as to what else to do.

For a moment or so, Shun just kind of stared at the patchwork as he seemed to get kind of serious an into a business-like mode. In the back of his mind, he wondered if this sort of thing happened often. Not the running into people, but fetching things for others. It was a little odd, but at least it seemed he was serious about replacing his food.

"I got a fish fillet from this place called Salty Pete's," he said while pointing to the logo on the bag. Thankfully the person at the counter had said the name of the place so he didn't have to worry about butchering the name of the company.

"It's about 2 blocks east of the school and... soon I guess," he added. The reaper still didn't sound so amused but he didn't sounds as grumpy as when he first spoke up.

Bent-Tail bounced again upon receiving the wave in return. His owner didn't sound too happy with this guy. But then again he did get knocked over. But the zombie seemed nice! It was waving back to him and all.

As the reaper mentioned the shop name, Moure nodded, his face serious. This was an food run, and that could be considered an errand run. And Moure was built to complete Errand Runs and Orders. The reaper then pointed out the logo, giving Moure even more to work with. Good good. Moure could handle this.

As the reaper finished specifying, Moure nodded. His Runner's mindset was in place, and he was going to complete this Order even if it tore him apart. Looking toward the direction of where the shop would be, he repeated the Order's perimeters, a habit he still had from running Errands for Dr. Cphira. "One fish fillet from Salty Pete's, location of the store being estimated to be two blocks away. I'll be back as soon as possible." Indeed, Moure took Errand Running very seriously. (If he hadn't, he probably wouldn't have survived at 'home'.) Giving one last wave to the excited looking miced tea, Moure nodded again at the reaper.

With that finished, he turned and sprinted off in the direction specified, running as fast as his Runner's legs could take him. Within moments, he was probably out of sight of the reaper. After all, the patchwork was built for speed.

Furrowing his brow as the zombie's 'serious business' attitude continued on as if he had just accepted a mission, Shun watched the guy zoom off rather quickly. With how quickly the patchwork ran, it was no wonder that he had been sent flying upon the collision. He was probably lucky he hadn't ended up breaking anything in the process.

Bent-Tail let out another happy squeak before watching as the other student zipped away in the blink of an eye. Wow he was fast! The mouse didn't think he had seen anyone travel faster than that. Well... Shun's teleportation might rival that, but that didn't count. That ability wouldn't carry the reaper as far anyway.

Letting out a sigh, the reaper shook his head to himself while rolling up one of his pant legs to check on his leg which was hurting a bit. A nice bruise was forming there alright. The same sort of pain was on a part of his back and arm, so he could guess that they were becoming a bit discolored as well.

It wasn't anything he hadn't experienced before.

Two blocks away, Moure was impatiently standing in line at a food stop called "Salty Pete's". The store had matched both names and logos with the one specified, and Moure had practically dove inside the building when he spotted it. He was in a hurry after all. He had an Order to finish.

Unfortunately, the person in front of him was definitely NOT in a hurry. They were debating back and forth between the fish fillet meal deal and the combo that had a fish fillet and two sides. Moure's impatience was evident as his foot tapped against the floor, the very picture of a hurried teenage boil waiting in line. Finally, after enough time had passed to make Moure want to bang his head into a wall (aka maybe two minutes), the person in front of him finally paid the cashier and stepped to the side.

Immediately, Moure stepped forward, ordered one fish fillet to go RIGHT NOW, and passed over the currency amount necessary. A few moments later, the bag was offered out to Moure, and he took hold of it carefully. After checking to make sure the order was correct, Moure nodded at the server and bolted out of the store.

From there, the patchwork carefully held the bag of food while sprinting back toward the school. Finally, he came down the same pathways he'd just run down a few minutes before, and had the reaper in his sights. He slowed enough that he could slide to a stop, and managed to do so right as he passed in front of the reaper. He offered out the completely unscathed food to the boil. "One fish fillet from Salty Pete's, in perfect condition." All in all, it had probably taken Moure less then ten minutes to run the Errand, including the time it took to get out of the campus area, find the store, order, wait, get the food, run back, and report in. While it would be extremely fast for others, Moure was disappointed in himself for taking so long on such a simple Order. What kind of Runner was he?

He noticed what seemed to be bruises forming on the reaper's leg. "You alright?" Just as fast as he'd slipped into his Errand Running mind-set, he was out of it again, more loose and teenage-boil-like. And as of right now, he was concerned about the damage he'd done to the other student.

The other student had been back sooner than he expected. Glancing up at the sound of footsteps, Shun quickly straightened out his pants leg and stood up once more. He didn't generally like showing signs that he was hurt so he was quick to attempt to cover it up.

It seemed that his efforts were a tad too late because the patchwork ended up inquiring if he was alright.

"I'm fine," he said shortly. It never went too well in the past to admit or show signs of pain and he didn't feel a need to start now. Even so, they were just bruises and weren't anything serious. It wouldn't take long for them to heal and they probably won't slow him down too much.

"Thanks," he murmured as he took the bag of food, peeking inside to check its contents. It was as the boy had said. It was in perfect condition.

"..You run around a lot don't you?" he added.

Seeing the boy return quickly, Bent-Tail began to bounce in place again, waving yet again to the zombie. Man running zombies were fierce! He was still very much impressed with his speed. Yes.
PostPosted: Sun Jun 12, 2011 7:36 pm

It seemed the reaper didn't really like his 'wound' being noticed, so when the other student said he was simply fine, Moure gave a nod. No need to further cause the boil annoyance, after all. He also gave a slight shrug and said, "If you're sure." He didn't want to leave a person in need, but he also didn't want to antagonize the other. Erhh, his instincts were colliding a bit here.

At least he'd completed the Order correctly. That was something the patchwork always could count on being able to do to make things up to people. He could always run Errands for them.At the thanks he nodded, almost slightly baffled by the other's word. "It was my fault for not looking, so no thanks are really necessary...although you're welcome." Usually, if Moure got a thanks from his creator, it was teasingly, like a cat talking to a mouse. To get an actual thanks was something he would have to get used to.

At the reaper's question, Moure immediately gave another nod. "Indeed I do. I'm a Runner, actually. So, yeah, Running is what I was built to do." While this answer might have sounded a bit strange to a normal person, it would have been easily understood by another patchwork. He was a Runner. He was built to perform Errand Runs and Orders. After a moment, he asked, "You're a Reaper, right?"

Moure noticed the little creature waving at him again. "Rather friendly creature you have there...?" He said, giving another wave. It almost seemed like the mouse liked how Moure ran...? Maybe it wanted a ride? Moure wasn't sure exactly how to interpret the excited creature's actions.

Closing the bag up once more, he glanced at the patchwork as he explained what he did more or less. Shun didn't know a great deal of his kind, but he knew enough to know that patchworks were generally created. Someone must have had an errand boy in mind whenever this particular zombie was stitched together and given 'life'.

"Yes. I'm a reaper," he confirmed before glancing at the little guy on his shoulder when he was brought up.

"Bent-Tail here really likes people in general. He enjoys seeing new faces," he explained.

As if agreeing to this statement, the nergal miced tea let out a cheerful little chirp and tossed his head up like a nod. He spun around on Shun's shoulder then stared curiously at the patchwork some more.
