Erica was often known for being pretty relentless when there was something she wanted to have done or at least look into. She'd gotten a letter saying that was summoning to some sort of place that apparently had children that were assigned to them or something of that mess, either way she was now dragging Erik there with her being quite obstinate despite any objections he was making to work against her cause.

"You promised!" Erica said to her twin as she moved to get into the building, "the guys at the LARP can wait," she reminded him quite sternly. Obviously all he was going to do was traipse around in a section of some woods pretending he was a knight or something. While she supported his hobbies and interests - today she had no patience for it.

There was a pause as she glanced at her brother, "Besides you can go right after this."

Erik was trying to put on his best pouty face he could. He knew it wasn't going to work, but hey, trying was the important thing right now.

"Today's my only day I had to repair my armor and..." he began but the 'p' word came out and he shut his trap almost immediately. He DID promise, so there was no was way out of it. He heaved a heavy sigh and smiled a defeated smile. He was stuck, no matter what.

"Nono, it won't work like that. I'll have to help you with whatever this is your getting yourself into. That's how it really works," he said as he bonked her playfully on the head. "That's how it always works." He stared at the building for a few moments, baffled.

"Now, tell me, what exactly ARE you getting yourself into?"

Erica was unaffected by the pouty face. It would not work on her at least to day it wouldn't work on her. Today was her day and she was going to take it.

"Oh c'mon it isn't like we are going to be here all day. This'll be quick and painless and then you can get back to fixing your armor," she said cheerfully. It honestly couldn't take too long.

She uttered a small sound at the bonk upon her head though she did adopt a sulky tone, "Not always," Erica insisted, "just about fifty percent of the time," she corrected. She could take care of herself or so she tried to insist now and again. Quietly she held the door open so they could go in once they arrived, "I'm...adoptingakid." She said quickly hoping her brother wouldn't catch it until it was too late.

"Oh right, and the other fifty percent is me doing all the work. How could I forget," he teased as he walked inside, though not straying much further than a few steps, seeing as this was his sisters...thing. Whatever it was. She sputtered off what she was doing but honestly she said it too fast for him to really understand what she actually said. He honestly heard 'I'm doping aphids' which made him arch an eyebrow at her, quizzical look upon his face.

"Oooooooookay then...You...you have fun with that..."was all he could really say. He looked around and saw the desk up in front. "Looks like we're in the lobby. I'll wait over here while you get checked in...or whatever it is you need to do..."

"You'd be so bored if I wasn't around," Erica replied cheerfully as she wandered in. She had no idea what he thought she said but whatever it was it was apparently in her favor as well as leaving him in the dark for a bit. Honestly if she mentioned 'we' in the whole thing he'd probably suddenly become very wise to her and try to get out of it or lecture her.

Maybe even both as he dragged her all the way back home.

It was something only he had the privilege of getting away with seeing as that he was her twin brother.

"I will," she chimed happily and she headed toward the counter. Erica leaned against the surface, "I'm here to check in for the...."

She said the last part a lot quieter so her brother would continue to be in the dark, "Adoption thing." To be honest Erica didn't mean for Erik to have to do anything with this whole process. She fully intended on taking this on all on her own but she did want him with her for support.

The desk remained empty for a while before a small com voice went from around them. "All operatives are busy at the moment - there is a small crisis on another floor. Just head down the hall to your left. Third door on the right side of the hall has a set of twins that will suit your purposes. The forms you need to fill out and a pen are in a basket attached to the front of the door. Thank you for your time."

If anyone had been looking at Erik for that particular split second, they would have seen the poor boy's usual sunkissed skin go pale, or at least pale in comparison. Twins? What? He knew he heard that right! This was one of those adoption agencies? He knew of them in general; some of his LARPing buddies have even considered adopting from one of those places, heck, he was pretty sure a few of them WERE from those places. Their makeup jobs were just a bit TOO well done. He had no issues with them.

The issue he had was that his sister felt like she was capable of bringing TWO of them into her life. If it was one he would have been a little less concerned, but TWINS. He stopped for a moment to think of the irony of the situation, but he quickly went back into 'WTF' mode.

"Now I know I heard that right..." he said, his eyes narrowing at her, his hands crossing across his chest. "Now, you are going to tell me in detail what is going on."

She gave Erik the most innocent look she could muster though she did flinch moments prior. Erica wasn't certain she could turn this into a dating service of some sort instead and she had just so happened to find her brother and herself a double date.

...Yeah probably not. Why would they need to fill out a form?

Erica tucked her hands behind her back as she started to move where the intercom had directed, "Erik. I just I want to show everyone I can be responsible too. I mean I know being a freelance artist is an awesome job but still...I can take care of myself! I have been doing my half of the house chores," she reminded him as she continued moving on.

"I'll do this myself," she said determinedly as she paused in front of the door she waited for her brother to catch up, "I can do this myself. I'm not ...that sick anymore."

Erik furrowed his brows. "That's not telling me what's going on. That's an explanation of why you're doing what you're doing. I wanted that afterward." he said before his expression softened to a more understanding look as he moved closer to wrap a brotherly arm around her shoulder.

"Erica, you could have just told me. I would have helped you get ready, maybe help set up furniture, painting a base coat in the room so you could go crazy with some sort of mural or something..." He laughed a bit, then sighed. "I of all people know you aren't that sick anymore, because I was there when you were that sick. You've gotten a LOT better since then. I know you can do practically anything you want if you set your mind to it...but an earlier warning about me becoming an uncle would have been nice," he finished with a light noogie to bring the point home.
