Location: Kanto, Celadon City
This day was proving more fruitful than the last; Hitsuzen had drawn a decent-sized crowd by midday, and there were a couple bills as well as coins in his bag. Crowds were usually most easily impressed by power moves, and he made sure to incorporate plenty into his routine.
There was nothing quite like it -- dropping into a flare or a headspin and listening to nearby pedestrians applaud, or pretending to fall and listening to them gasp, before popping back up unharmed. He had to make it into work, to make enough money to scrape by -- but that didn't mean he couldn't love it while he did it.
The onlookers were numerous enough that he didn't really take notice of most of them while he was dancing -- it was only when he froze with the end of the song that he could really get a proper look at who'd been watching him.

After the terrifying ordeal of riding the Magnet Train for what felt like hours, Neil had been all too happy to get his feet onto solid ground. Saffron City had been unlike anything he'd ever seen before, and though he was dazzled by the lights and sounds, he had an important task to take care of. The precious fossil samples were safe and sound in the backpack he'd been given, and after quickly consulting a map of the Kanto region, the Cyndaquil marched off to the east, where Pewter City lay somewhere in the distance.
His first stop, however, just happened to be Celadon City. It was somehow even more magnificent than Saffron, and Neil wandered in a daze, captivated and a little overwhelmed by it all. There was so much to do, so much to see! It would be okay if he took a tiny little break to explore, wouldn't it?
Darting from street corner to street corner, Neil had spotted the crowd and eagerly settled into watch. It was another Pokemon-human--just like him! But the way he was able to use his body... well, Neil had never seen anything quite like it. Marveling openly, he dug around in his bag for a moment until he found his notebook, and hastily began to jot down his observations. He was supporting himself with only his hands at times! It was fascinating, really.
Once he felt that he'd taken adequate notes of the subject, Neil tucked his pen away with satisfaction. Alright, now, let's see... All he had to do was get up on his head and spin, right?
His first attempt had him landing flat on his back, and the Cyndaquil blinked up at the sky for a moment with surprise. Ouch. It was harder than it looked...

As he stayed frozen, Hitsuzen spotted someone attempting a similar move -- and, predictably, falling flat. As the music ended, he stifled a sigh, and switched off the boombox. "Thank you -- hope you enjoyed it," he said to the crowd; he'd said it a million times before and would say it a million times in the future. Anything to coax another few coins out of their hands.
He walked over to the man who'd fallen, crouching and looking curiously at his strange hair. "Hey. You alright? That's not a beginner's move, you know."
Maybe he was wrong in thinking the other man was a beginner -- but he certainly looked it, flat on his back and looking dazed.

The sound of a voice distracted him from whatever discomfort he'd been experiencing, and with a bright, if somewhat sheepish grin, the Cyndaquil sat up with a wince. "Oh, yeah, I'm fine! I was just watching what you were doing. It's a lot harder than it looks! Maybe my head's too big..."
Maybe he should be writing this down, too. A quick glance at his notepad, and the pen was fished out of his pocket once more. Work... on... making... head... bigger.
"How long have you been dancing like that?" Neil wanted to know brightly, eager to hear the reply. Maybe it wasn't too late for him to learn, after all!
