The way to Istas' house seemed to go slowly. Ainsley had picked out a wonderful lavender coloured ribbon to wear in her hair today. To match them, she dressed up in a beautiful lavender dress with a white lace trim that dropped off just above her knees with a white petticoat underneath it to give it a full look. She didn't have stockings on as she usually did and instead of shoes she wore a pair of cork platform sandals tied together with a lavender ribbon. She had to look her best! She was going to Istas' house today for a tea party and for that she'd even dressed Octavian Oswald in his best. She'd found a tiny gentleman's coat for him and a tiny lavender bow tie to match her ribbons. The small child really did love fashion and being able to dress up for different events always put a smile on her face. She hoped Istas would like it!
The child wanted the day to go perfectly so she even picked up several cupcakes from one of Destiny City's bakery's prior to being dropped off at Istas' house. She stood there, admiring her friend's house with a ribbon tied box in one hand and Octavian Oswald in the other. She was ready but she didn't move right away. She waited, and looked around carefully before she finally made her way to the front door and attempted to make her presence known by first carefully placing the box on the ground and knocking on the door, making sure to pick up the box again before she accidentally forgot it was there. She felt like time had went from slow to completely unmoving as she waited for someone to answer the door.

Istas had been expecting Ainsley, and she had on a pale blue dress accented in white, with matching shoes and white stockings. Her hair was up like normal held by two white bows.
She giggled when she pulled open the door to see her friend was there. With her rabbit, Octavian. Ahh yes time for tea, Istas without much hesitation took Ainsley by the hand, "HI!!!" She said tugging the other girl to meet her parents again. Chi was just taking a batch of cookies out of the oven and Lorenzo was sitting at the table reading something with one hand running through his lilac hair.
She stopped in the doorway, hand still attached to Ainsley's waiting for her parents to notice her. When Chi looked up and smiled Istas waved, "We're going to my room!!! I'll get the stuff for the tea party in a minute, since I know the cookies have to cool, Okay?"
Chi simply smiled as she sat the cookie sheet on the counter. "Okay Snow Rabbit, you and your friend have fun." She smiled and nodded to Ainsley. "Nice to see you again Ainsley." The woman called as Istas headed up stairs showing Ainsley along pointing out the living room and dining room and the bathroom in case Ainsley needed to know that.
"AND THIS! Is my room!" She smiled entering a room decorated in pastel colors a white wooden rocking horse was close to the window with a large bear. There was a pile of plus toys on her bed and in one corner of her room, all an assortment of plush toys almost anything anyone could think of. There were shelves on both sides of the window one side had all my little ponies and fast food toys, the other held children books and coloring books. There were a few dolls on some higher shelves that were just collectibles but most of them looked native American "What do you want to do first? There's coloring books, we could dress up, I have a whole closet full of stuff my grandpa seems to like to spoil me..." She paused and giggled slightly, "Orr we could color, there's cards and all sorts of games." She offered to the other child, looking at Ainsley curiously. "We have to let the cookies cool anyways, don't want to be burnt on them. You do like chocolate chip right? I think mom made sugar cookies too if you don't like chocolate chip...."

Ainsley didn't have to wait long before Istas had answered the door in a dress Ainsley thought was just adorable, especially the shoes! Shoes made every outfit just perfect. It was nice to see Istas outside of the school uniform, and when her friend greeted her she smiled back and returned the greeting before being pulled into the house. It was nice to see a family together, although the child might have been forlorn to think of it on another time. It was nice to see her mother again, and the child offered a brief curtsy to Istas' mother before allowing herself to be pulled up to the child's room.
Her eyes were looking around when she got there, looking between Istas and the space she declared as her room. There was so much stuff in here, a lot more than what was in her own room. Her eyes fell from all the ponies on the shelves to the pile of stuffed animals. She remembered Istas had mentioned them before, but she was still a little surprised to see so many of them.
"Your room is so nice," she said with a smile, considering the options carefully. "How about colouring? It won't take up too much time, will be fun, and will be easy to put away when we're ready." She liked that idea, and it wouldn't take up too much time to put away when everything else was done. Chocolate chip cookies and sugar cookies both sounded delicious. "They both sound good!"

Istas smiled at Ainsley as she said her room was nice, "Thank you. I hope you don't mind all the stuff. Grandpa sorta over does the toys a little sometimes." She giggled slightly.
Before moving to the shelves with the coloring books. "Which one do you want? I have a good number of them to choose from. There's some Disney Princesses, My Little Pony, and well.... just different ones."
She pulled out the crayons, colored pencils and markers from the cabinet under the bookshelf.

Without a second doubt the child grabbed of the Disney princess colouring book off the shelf. It was the obviously choice for girl who loved the whole ideal and while flipping open the book to look at it the child sat down, glancing between Istas and the colouring book as she did so. She was looking for the perfect picture to colour and with so many favourites the child was having a difficult time with it.
She took her time with deciding, and when she carefully selected a page from the book she held it up to Istas to see. "You weren't saving this one, were you?" She asked, making sure her friend didn't already have her eyes on the page she had selected. She would have felt dreadful if she started colouring one Istas wanted to colour.

Istas paused, as she watched Ainesly as she grabbed one of the Disney Princess books. "Nope, I haven't actually even gotten to that one yet." She giggled, "I think actually one of my other princess books has the same picture in it."
She shifted through before picking up one of the my little petshop coloring books before taking it over to the table. Finding a picture of a cat and she picked up a lilac colored pencil.

Ainsley smiled upon hearing that Istas hadn't been saving this picture for anything later, even further relieved to hear that there was even another picture like it in another of her books so if she suddenly decided she wanted to colour it she would be able to later in the other book. It was only one thing decided, and after staring at the book for a bit she looked for the right colour for everything in the book. She would start with the hair, and to do that one she would need the proper yellow colour. A very golden yellow would be perfect and after a bit of digging she could a goldenrod crayon and began to colour the hair of the princess.
She occasionally looked at Istas's book, looking at the cat she was colouring with a small smile.

Istas nodded as she worked coloring the cat making sure to stay in the lines. "Ma'am should be bringing tea and cookies in a bit. They smell like they're almost done." She informed Ainsley.
She had started with the head and ears, she was trying something she'd seen Miss Bailey do too. Not sure if coloring with colored pencils could do the texture thingy Istas was trying to make the cat look extra fluffy by adding some darker shading to the fur after she'd gotten a light coat on it. Of course it looked a little crud but it didn't go out of the lines.
Istas was right, Chi was working on putting the final touches on the cookies and making sure they were cool enough for the kids to handle. She didn't want them burning theirselves. She was humming as she worked, adding tea to Istas' tea pot and making sure there were cups and sugar. There was also honey and lemon in case the kids wanted it, she knew Istas would at least like the lemons.
It didn't take her long to ice and decorate the cookies after they were cooled. She was looking at her handy work before working to figure out how many she could place on a plate without there being an uneven number.

The goldenrod hair had taken the longest, mostly because Ainsley had carefully filled each section only after she had followed the border around carefully with a dark border of goldenrod. The main colour was light and soft, and stood out prominently with the darker border that hugged tightly to the lines. She hadn't been as careful as she would have liked though, and in an attempt to cover it up she tried to give the character a golden glow around it instead of just leaving the golden mark outside the lines.
Once she was finally satisfied with it, she picked up a green and began to work on the eyes. They didn't take long, but when she finished she frowned. There was goldenrod in the eyes. She had missed them again, and she wasn't sure what to do with it. The least she could do was to even out the colour on either side and when she did that it almost looked as if a golden light had been shining over Rapunzel. Although it didn't look bad, Ainsley felt like she had ruined it even though she had tried so had to colour in the lines.
There was no use letting a good picture go to waste though, so while trying to be even more careful, Ainsley picked up a good shade for her dress and then tried to continue on. She paused though, looking back at Istas' cat. It looked so furry, a small smile coming to Ainsley's lips.
"I want to pet it," she giggled. "It looks so soft."

Istas smiled at Ainsley as she continued to color, while it looked fluffy it looked a bit... odd to her. "Thank you. I was trying something Miss Bailey showed me."
There was a small hum as she finally switched to another color, "Awesome." She glanced over at Ainsley's picture, "I don't know if you want to, but if you're interested in fixing the eyes I have a white crayon?" She offered, "that should fix it."
Chi was bringing up the snacks with a hum. The cookies were arranged on the plate so they wouldn't get icing on each other. It was a tiered plate though so it had finger sandwiches made of peanut butter and chicken salad there seemed to be ham on a tier too. They were sat down with care not to disturb the girl's coloring and Chi paused, "If you need any else just ask. I'll be downstairs." She smiled and headed back towards the door to leave.

Would white fix it? A hope in her eyes, Ainsley grabbed the white crayon and began to colour the eyes with the white, pressing harder to get it to cover the original colours. The result wasn't anything like Ainsley hoped though, and instead of covering the colour so she could colour it again all it had done was mute the colours and blend them. The most dreadful part of it all was that when she tried to colour over it with green again, the wax of the green crayon didn't want to cover the thicker layer of white that was sitting on the paper.
There was clear disappointment on her face when she looked to Istas to try and figure out why. She didn't say anything, but her face said it all: it didn't work and now it looks worse. She had failed the princess! Her fingers brushed over the paper slowly, tenderly trying to apologize to Rapunzel for the crime she had done.
It was about then that Istas' mother walked in with the food, and Ainsley's face drifted toward her. It was most definitely a distraction, and when Istas' mother left the room the child's eyes lingered on the tiered tray. There were cookies and sandwiches and it all looked really good. She didn't know if she was allowed to just go get one though and instead she just looked at them like a caged animal looking at a slab of meat outside its cage, wanting it but unable to get it.
Unlike an animal though, Ainsley had the skill of speech and after finally staring long enough she turned to Istas and asked, "May I have one?" To make it clear, she pointed toward the tray. A snack would make a lovely distraction from the disappointment she had faced in front of the very eyes of the princess.

Istas looked a little perplexed when Ainsley sat there disappointed the crayon hadn't worked like she'd expected. Istas sighed and pushed herself up from the table to go fetch something from her bookshelves.
"That's why they're there Ainsley. Mom wouldn't've brought anything in if we couldn't eat it." Istas' head was now thoroughly inside the bottom doors of the book shelf. Rattling around as she looked for the thing she'd gotten up to get.
"I mean no one's mean enough to bring food and sit it down in front of you and tell you not to eat it are they?" The lilac haired child was use to being allowed to eat whatever as long as it didn't spoil a meal. Finally she produced an eraser that looked like it'd seen a lot of crayon abuse. Bringing it back she sat it on the table. "It won't remove it all." She said before picking up another color and working on her own coloring page, pausing to pick up a snack.
