Dark Ion was on one of his many adventures when the field he was running on ended. The forest that bordered the field was large, and misty and it sort of creeped him out a little so naturally he wanted to explore it. The moment he put that first hoof into that place his fur stood on end. He decided he liked the tickley sensation and placed the other hoof in as well. When nothing outright catastrophic happened he meandered in quite happily and snooped around the underbrush. Dark Ion loved adventure and he found this particular voyage very interesting.

Voreti was wandering through her territory. It was lovely out and she was using the time to also get some exersize. She was delighting in the sounds of her forest. Her nostrils flared to take in the deep musty scent. That was until she saw the strange hoofprints across the ground. Worst still they were going deeper into her forest. It could not be tolerated. Voreti'Riay was determined to kick the intruder out. Forcefully if neccissary.
With a snort and laid her ears back; she wheeled to follow the prints. Whisps of mist curled around her slender legs as she trotted quickly. She listened for the sounds of an Azreth where they should not be. Upon picking up the sounds and scent, Voreti moved out and around. Her goal was to circle around to the direction her intruder was heading then confront him. She positioned herself to be between the intruder and the middle of the forest. Her goal was to send them out, not deeper.
"You're intruding! Get lost!" Her voice lashed out of the darkness and mists. Sending him running would be great.

Dark Ion brought his head up from a particularly foul smelling plant that he had been inspecting. Were those hoof steps that he was hearing? Sneaky hoofsteps? He looked around slowly so as not to seem suspicious. When the shout came he didn't move, he just turned to see what all the commotion was about.
"Intruding? Is this your forest? I'm sorry, I simply didn't see your name on it. Is this your stinky plant too? It is quite malodorous don't you agree?" he grinned at her, unrepentant. He was a turd, and he knew it. It was part of his charm.
She was quite a pretty mare, if a bit reclusive. Maybe he should try to cure her of that. After all who could resist his charm?

"This is my forest. You're just too ignorant to see the signs right in front of your nose. Everything here is mine. I don't find your pranks to be the least bit funny."
Voreti lowered her head and snapped her teeth aggressively. "Now get your fat rump out of my forest before I bite you a new birthmark." If he didn't start leaving right now, she would attack. Her hoof pawed the ground.

Oo oo grumpy mare. Dark Ion backed up slowly.
"I didn't hurt anything, I was just tryin to find where the offending smell was coming from." he pointed a hoof at the plant.
"Having found it I will gladly leave you to your sulking. Excuse ME." he flounced off, deeper into the forest.

Voreti took a half step forward as he retreated. "I don't care if you were here to hurt anything or not. I don't want you here, get it?" The mare was half tempted to tell him that offending smell was coming from him.
She opened her mouth to keep going when he rushed pasted and further into her forest. Voreti tried to snap at him as he went past, but missed. That only irritated the mare further as she whirled to give chase. She knew the shortcuts in her forest and used them to her advantage. Quickly gaining ground on the intrusive stallion.
"I'll chase you all around the forest if I have to. I will catch you, and when I do I will stomp you black and blue boy."

"Well I'm kinda already black, grouch, so you will stomp me blue. If you can catch me, I am slow but lucky." He swished his tail to aggravate her more. Why did he insist on these situations? He hadn't wanted a confrontation, she had insisted on it. If she caught him she would stomp him flat because number one he wasn't the best at fighting and two he didn't want to hurt her. He hoped his luck would prevent him from tripping and falling on his face. He zipped behind trees and leaped over fallen logs. He dodged and narrowly missed a deep hole that would have probably broken something or at the very least halted him.

"Then you'll be even blacker, and all over!"
She gave a loud whinney as he swished his tail. When I catch him I'll make him pay for every insult he gives me. Her hooves pounded steadily on the ground behind him. Voreti snaked under some low branches. She hated how he kept going deeper into the forest.
"You're going the wrong way. Turn around and get out, and maybe I'll go easily on you." She still intended to whoomp him good at least once, if she caught him, but getting him to leave her forest was priority.

"Who said it was your forest? Do you have a land deed I can look at without being mauled? Perhaps you chase me because you want to get to know me and not because you wish me to leave? Is this all a farce?" he winced knowing he was probably digging himself deeper by playing stupid but honestly he thought she was catching up and was now desperate to escape.

(Grrrrr gaia for eating my post.)
"You really are dense. I said it was my forest, and I'm not the one about to get my rump tromped." She took a snap at his hindquarters, even though she wasn't even close enough to reach him, attempting to drive him in a circle and head him out.
"Get to know you? If I wanted to get to know a real stallion, I know where to go." Voreti hoped that shut him up. Stallions could really get full of themselves.

"Really? Where?" he asked as he heaved himself up a small incline. Whew he had to start laying off the barley if he was going to continue to enrage fast mares. He panted and waited for her reply. Just barely keeping ahead of the sharp gnashing teeth that were aiming for his perfect rump. (Ya it kicked me out of the system for a bit)

Voreti breathed fiercely. Mist began to swirl thicker around their legs as Ion led her deeper into the forest. This stallion clearly wasn't scared by her forest. She'd have to find ways to make it scarier.
"Depends upon what my fancy might be. There's those goody guys close by, and those handsomely rogueish ones further down. But certainly not you." As several strands form his tail lashed her face, Voreti took a bite that them. It might not actually slow him down, but it would make her feel better.

"Now love, you cant really mean that." Ion's mane got stuck in a scraggly tree and he pulled out a few strands hurrying to free himself before "Jaws" could catch up. He narrowly missed falling headfirst into a swamp type thing and dodged the knotted boles of many trees. "Wow, you really need a new decorator, it's hard to run away in here!" he called back.

"Of course I do. Perhaps I'll flay you out as an offering for the dark ones; I might get something nice in return." The mare was by no way giving up. She eeled around right on the stallion's heels. "I rather like it. If you had left when I said, you wouldn't be in this predicament. There's always the chance to turn around and save your hide." She gave another audible snap of her teeth.

"Ya and turn right into your open maw? i don't think so, perhaps if you had acted civilly instead of screaming at me i would have left peaceably. But it seems in your avid protection of this forest that you need a few manners and a lot of exercise!" He ran hard, hoping for somewhere to turn around, either with out her knowing it or at least where her teeth were not. 'You know you are a very unpleasant being?." he pointed out helpfully. 'Do you eat the squirrels for breakfast or just your guests?"
