This tournament will be ran both on pokemon online and the DS game. Each round that passes will alternate between each usage. In order for you to try out, you will need to either have access to both set ups, or have a "partner" to make sure both set ups are covered. To download the simulator, click on the following link and download the client.

Theme: Single-Round Robin

* 6 v 6 Lvl 100 Battle (Free Battle)

* You must only use pokemon of a similar elemental type

* Only one non-uber legendary pokemon may be used per team, per battle, with the exception of fire type which is allowed to have two.


General Rules

1. If you used a cheating device like AR, CB, or GS to hack in fake Pokémon, max stats, etc. then please do not scam us and enter this tournament. This is only open to honest trainers with official teams. If you can't find shinies and your friends hack them for you and trade them to you, don't enter. If you don't feel confident about your team, just don't enter. Play fair. Trust in your own abilities.

2. Please do not disconnect from the match and make up a bogus excuse to cover it up. Make sure you have a strong WiFi signal. If not, just don't enter.

3. Voice chat must be turned off.


Clauses in Effect

• Species Clause: All of your Pokémon must be different.
  
  
• Sleep Clause: You can only put 1 of your opponent's Pokémon to sleep at a single time.
  
  
• Self-KO Clause:Your Pokémon cannot use moves like Explosion or Self-Destruct to win if it's the only Pokémon remaining on your team. The same applies for Perish Song and Destiny Bond.
  
  
• Ability Clause: Pokemon who have the ability "Drizzle", cannot be played on the same team with pokemon who have the ability," Swift Swim" in any battle.
  
  
• Inconsistent/Moody Clause: The ability Inconsistent/Moody is banned from use.
  
  
• Evasion Clause: Moves like Double Team and Minimize are banned from being used.
  
  
• Luck "Hax" Item Clause: When this clause is in effect, that means the following items are banned from use: Brightpowder, Quick Claw, Focus Band and King's Rock.
  
  
• OHKO Clause: Moves like Fissure, Guillotine, Horn Drill and Sheer Cold are banned from use.
  
  
• Uber Clause: Because of the broken nature of each's stats/move pools/abilities in conjunction with one another ,these Pokemon from the following list are not allowed to be used.
  
  Arceus, Speed Boost Blaziken, Darkrai, All Deoxy-A, Deoxy, Dialga, Garchomp, Giratina, Giratina-O, Groudon, Ho-Oh, Kyogre, Lugia, Manaphy, Mewtwo, Palkia, Rayquaza, Reshiram, Shaymin-S, and Zekrom.
  
  *Note: since Genesect, Meloetta and Keldeo have not been released by Nintendo yet via North American Events, they are also banned from being used until further notice.
  

Can I be the gym leader of the gym?

Yes! But only if you earn it by placing high enough in this tournament. If you'd like to try out for a gym leader spot, be sure you read all the rules and just post your friend code on this thread and state which Elemental type you are trying out for.


What is a Round Robin style tournament?

In a round-robin tournament or all-play-all tournament, each participant plays every other participant an equal number of times, and in this case, once, and the winner(s) will be based upon the number of wins-to-losses ratio.


Who will be chosen to be Gym leaders? The winners?

Essentially that's how the tournament will play out and those that win the most matches will be made into gym leaders, though there is one exception to that as well. As only a single person/pair can be the leader of a single type, in this tournament, you must not only try to place high on the overall standings but you must also place higher than your rival same type team opponents. Example: Say if there are 2 people with Fire teams and they somehow place 1st and 2nd in the overall tournament. In that case, only the person who placed first will be the gym leader over the Fire gym, as there will be no two gyms with the same type. And say if an Electric team placed 3rd behind the two Fires, then that Electric team wins the leadership of the Electric gym. So essentially, if you lose to another Fire team, you still have a chance of winning the leader status if your able to beat more of the other types than your rival(s). Only then, we feel the guild would have stronger, well rounded leaders.


How many leaders will be chosen from this tournament?

Because of the transition between generations, we felt it would be best to reboot the entire league. With that being said, 8 will be chosen out of the whole lot. This is not to be mean and exclude anybody, but to ensure that only the best obtain such a title of gym leader, we wish for them to be exceptional battlers.


Why have you decided to host the tournament on both the DS game and the PO system?


Because Nintendo changed the online battle set up for B&W, this has made it more difficult to raise pokemon and build competitive teams efficiently. Hence why our guild is wanting to use Pokemon Online to remedy this problem. However, not to discourage those who have taken the time to make competative teams on the DS game and also wanting to allow everyone to compete, we felt this method would be best.

Must we only be allowed to use one non-uber legendary on our teams? Might we bump it up to two? For the reason that some types are extremely limited on which pokemon we can use, and concerning some types (specifically stell) there would be very very little variation in teams with that rule in place! It would make more sense to have 2 be the limit, because it opens up some of the types strategies and would still be keeping it fair! Im sure you guys have already talked over this, but I would like to bring it up in hopes that we would be able to come to some agreement!

I havent decided yet, debating between Steel, Psychic, and Electric, Steel is the clear favorite right now, but I am severely tempted to run the 6 rotom form team for the lulz.

Edit: Follow up question, do the different rotom forms count as the same for the purposes of the species clause?
