Shandor:
"It's strange... so much water. Where does it go?" "A stupid question, what do you mean where does it go? It goes no where." "It can't just go no where- perhaps it goes everywhere!" "Oh and my question was silly?"

It was the first time he'd seen the sea. There had been rumors, of course, and there'd been stories, but it was one thing to hear of such things and another entirely to actually see it for himselves. The water was seemingly endless, stretching well beyond the horizonline. So far that the boarder between sky and sea faded, boggling his minds.

On one hand- it was awe-inspiring, provoking a thousand questions and inspiring a thousand seeds of creativity that would perhaps one day grow into tales and songs.

On the other- who would believe him? Who would want to listen to such nonsense. A body of water that went everywhere but no where? That devoured the land then drew back fearfully?

Whatever it was, it was interesting. Both sids could agree to that at the very least. The smell was interesting- nothing like they'd ever smelt before. Small objects were left in the wake of the water amongst the foam and stones. Wood- well worn, and what looked like fragments of bone. There were strange birds up above and little skittering things down below.

"Should we go look at it closer?" "A terrible idea. Look how it moves! Sometimes it crawls up further, sometimes it sinks away." "Well look there- the sand's staying dry closer to the rocks." "And that means what? Perhaps it's just trying to lure you into a false sense of security." "No sense of adventure. I want to see it."

Tifu:
Darku Angel
Life kept on going, she realized. It didn't quite seem to matter that she couldn't recall bits and pieces of her past, how she got here or what had happened in between; it call kept going. The wind blew, the clouds produced rain and... well, everything worked just the same as ever. Tifu looked down at the water that lapped at her left paw as she lay on top of a large boulder, watching the waves break; she couldn't quite recall how she'd gotten to that beach, or why she was there. She could recall small bits and pieces, but nothing vivid or strong enough to give her a full picture.

She could recall her old pride, but only barely. Faces, moments, but no names and nowhere near enough information to actually tell her what had happened. What little she could recall had guided her towards these lands, where the water touched the lsand. There were images of a blue pelted lioness with wings; an entity Tifu believed was somehow connected to her. Then again, in her own memories, she couldn't recall herself having wings, or the long plush tail that lay on the ground behind her, slowly twitching from side to side. Almost as if needing to check to see if they were still there, the lioness turned her head and looked at her back, where the two small wings rested comfortably.

And it was during her inspection of said wings that two distinctly different voices were heard in the near distance. Amusingly enough, when Tifu raised her head, she found not two, but one lion coming her way, and she couldn't help but blink, "Who are you talking to?" she didn't bother to hide her wings, he tail, or the fact she looked slightly strage for a lioness. After all.... it hadn't quite registered within her what she really was or that she could 'hide' this from others.

Shandor:
The lion had been so occupied with his conversation that he had overlooked the lioness down below. Well it was his own fault- he'd missed a pebble because he'd been looking out at a mountain. But what if she'd been a threat? She'd have killed him right away! Then where would he be? Dead. Well she wasn't a threat, so there was no reason to bother with that thought was there? Unless it happened again and he was less fortunate...

Raising a brow, the male gave her a short inspection. Wings? Certainly lions didn't have wings. She might have been a mutant. What nonsense. The tail certainly wasn't lion-like. Perhaps not but mutants didn't live long. Horrible, wretched things with twisted limbs and broken bones. one of their littermates had been deformed. The mother had left him to die for it too. That's what they got. How horrible...the poor thing.

"Talking to? I'm talking to him." "Who else would he be talking to? You're a nosey thing! Whatever you are." "Hush now, it was just a question." "A stupid one."

Tifu:
The lioness blinked and then looked around as soon as the male gave his answer; alas, before she could distinguish whom this 'he' was, the other voice spoke up. It took Tifu several beats to realize the second voice came from the same male. She pause, blinked again, and opened her mouth, almost as if about to say something. However, no sooner did she open her mouth that she seemed to realize her words might come off as callous or rude, and thus, she snapped it shut.

Instead, she tilted her head to one side and tried again, "What's your name?" a pause, "Both your names? My name is Takatifu, though... you may call me simply Tifu," after another moment, the lioness stood and stretched herself out on top of the rock, "I'm sorry, but I find I'm not entirely sure what I am; I seem to have trouble... remembering things. I'm pretty sure I'm a lion though," her head lifted in the air as she sat herself down, "I seem to recall a pride. Although..... vaguely, and only lions live in prides, right? Or am I wrong?" amusingly enough, when she turned to face the male, she seemed to be genuinely asking him for his opinion, almost as if she weren't entirely sure of her own mind, or her own memories and if she could trust them.

That said and done though, she hopped quite gracefully off her rock and onto the same level as he was; she had little doubt that if he turned out to be a threat, she could take flight. That aside, she was... surprisingly large, specially for a female.

Shandor:
"We are Shandor." The lion answered, his voice something inbetween the higher, softer tone and the gruff, deeper tone that had been arguing just a moment ago. At least they could agree on what to be called- otherwise the lions around them might fall into the same madness that had claimed his own mind.

A lion? Shandor raised a brow and started down the face of the rock, his paws picking carefully along the uneven surface. "Lions don't have wings." "None that we've seen anyway... wings go on birds.""Then again, you don't look like any bird we've seen either." "Not at all, birds have beaks- and you have a muzzle...not quite sure what you are." "Maybe she's a bit of a freak." "He said it- not me!"

The lion came to rest at the bottom of the rocks, flicking his tail back and forth behind him. The female was large- very large -but easy on the eyes at least. She seemed harmless, if not helpless.

"Lions live in prides, yes... if you're having memory trouble you might not be talking to the right lions." "We're not all here up top either." "But we make for good company." "Very good."
