Which is more evil: A violent child molesting serial killer, or a prison guard that denies the human rights of the serial killer and treats him no greater than a dog?

I know that most people would choose the serial killer, and say that they would deserve to be treated like a dog, but I disagree. I'm not saying that I sympathize with either one, but I feel that both are at fault.

The acts of a Serial Killer. Are worse than any level of abuse. A guard can inflict on an inmate. I don't think it is right. Though, its not wrong to lock up serial killer. Whether you choose to deny someone even basis rights or not in jail. Still doesn't entirely touch on the grounds of rehabilitation. Which is the purpose of Prisons and Jails in the first place. On the opposing side. Giving a prisoner all rights that a normal person would have. Does not mean that they are more likely to be rehabilitated. However, the denial of certain rights. The horrible conditions that most prisoners are forced to live in. Makes the prisoner less likely to fly straight. When they are eventually released from prison.
Ideally, a prisoner would be locked up. Given three square meals a day. Time to get outside to exorcise. Some sort of activity to perform to keep them busy. Plus, the chance to use that experience. As job training for when they get out. It would be up to each individual business. Whether to hire or reject. Just like with any normal person. After all, I don't believe prisoners should ever be given. Any rights that are not afforded. To those that are not prisoners.
There are some prisons that have some or most of these practices. Already implemented into there system. The three square meals and Recreation. Are quite common among prisons. Giving the prisoners something productive to do. Is sort of treated on an horror system. Where the prisoner has to earn the privilege first. Working with local businesses and training the prisoners. In some sort of trade that they can use. Is something that I've never heard of. Though, it really is a good idea. Training the prisoners in something as simple as trash pick-up. As a voluntary act. Would give them experience in that field. This could then be used as job experience on an application in that field.
