Kashet paced slowly over the sands of the desert he was currently visiting. Normally he prefered something with a bit more solid ground and a bit less grit, but these lands were quite spectacular to view in the light of a full moon. He made it a point of trying to visit around that time.
The night was cool, almost cold, but his fur was thick fur held his own body heat close to him and his flames could ward off the chill in the air if he chose. He prefered the natural lighting though, for his flames would ruin the illusion.
Before him, stretching as far as the eye could see, were waves of sand. Not actual waves, of course, but it covered the land as thoroughly as an ocean in these parts. This particular area was unique for it's pale, almost cornsilk-colored grains. The night bleached them to a white-ish color, and with the light of the full moon shining down they seemed to glow like silver.
Kashets wings almost itched with the urge to be in the air, where the view was much better.

Kyra was annoyed, not at anyone in particular but just simply annoyed. Mostly it was with life. It could just be boredom but she hadn't quite pinpointed it yet, not that she wanted too in all honesty. You never want you might dig up with the truth. So she decided to say 'screw the truth' and went with plain old denial instead. It was much safer that way.
As she flew through the air, Kyra looked down and noticed the silver glowing of something on the ground. Never before had she laid eyes on something so beautiful in her life. It was stunning, but what the hell was it? Curiosity finally got the better of her and she forced herself to land and looked around. "Sand?" She blinked at it confused. "I landed for sand." She sighed in disbelief.
"Well ain't that great." She comically glared to the side. Sure it might be a little interesting as to why the sand was silver, but honestly in the end it was still sand and as thus didn't hold her interest.

"Depends on what you'd call great."
The voice was very faint as though it had come from afar, which indeed it had. Sound might not carry here as well as it did over water, but the vast expanses of nothing, not even wind, were still places you needed to watch what you did in case you attracted unwanted attention.
For Kashet he hadn't attracted anything, so much as found himself attracted. It had been easy to see the silloutte of the female in the moonlight as she came down to land, and he was surprised she hadn't spotted him from above. Perhaps his dark blue might have seemed like a plant or rock blotting the surface of the sand. His flames, dulled as far as they could go, certainly blended well enough with the glow of the sand.
Kashet was easily over 50 feet away, taking a slow, sedate pace towards this unexpected company. He preferred to see how strangers reacted before waltzing up to them anyway. You know, discounting the fact that he did not, under any circumstances, waltz.

A male voice drifted to her ears and gave her pause. Kyra tilted her head to the side and scanned the area until she finally spotted the male that was standing 50 feet. It might be the distance that made her mind a little fuzzy, but the male seemed familiar to her but for some reason she couldn't quite place his face. After several minutes of just staring at him blankly she thought she would speak up. "Silver sand isn't that impressive to me." She voice in a tone that might be construed as snappish, though she hadn't intended it to come off that way.
"Why are you walking so slow? Afraid of little old me?" She grinned at that, a male intimidated by her. Ha! She laughed at the thought.

Kashet snorted. "Hardly. I don't see any reason for me to rush. If you were hoping for a more enthusiastic response then you should find yourself a normal or a Phim." He was closer now, perhaps twenty feet away, and still walking at his sedate pace. It was easier for him to see the face of the female and read expressions and body language. And vice versa.
He raised an eyebrow. "The sand isn't silver, it's white. It's just an illusion, a trick of the full moon." Kashet glanced up at the sky and the glowing orb in question. "If you were looking for interesting things you picked the wrong terrain. Deserts can be quite boring."

"And people think that I am prickly?" Kyra raised an eyebrow as she looked at him curiously, "And no....i was not expecting more enthusiasm..." She shook out her fur, "I was merely wondering if you were by chance afraid of me. But i can see that you are not. Then again why would you be..."
She paused mid-step and looked down at the sand in question. Why the hell would she care if it was white instead of silver. It was basically the same color to her anyway. Rolling her eyes in annoyance, she looked away from the male and off into the horizon of the ocean of sand, surely there had to be something better to look at.

Kashet shrugged. "I hardly keep Court, so my social graces are almost always lacking. I've never seen much reason to keep up with them, since I have no patience with pretending to always be in a good mood." Those types of foxes were just so annoying too. Seriously, if you were always happy then you needed to get your brains checked.
He raised an eyebrow as the female continued her critical examination of the ground. "You always want things to be exciting? You must suffer disappointment frequently."
((...I had no clue he was gonna be so blunt and tactless XD ))

"No I do not require things to always be exciting." Kyra looked at him strangely, "Could you imagine what kind of vixen i would be then?" She shuttered at the thought of what kind that would make her. She would certainly have to be more chipper, and the thought of that did not sit well with her. "I can honestly tell that your social skills are lacking, but I never said that was a bad thing." She smiled.
"On the contrary, I find it rather amusing." Kyra whipped her tail behind her, sweeping the sand with the tip. "But that could be because I am much to the same sentiment. I have never boasted to my social skills, and honestly prefer to be on my own anyways."

Kashet shrugged. "Occupational hazard of our birth," he said. "If you want to roll the dice to decide a Daeva personality, you'll always get a leaded set." He tilted his head, a tiny smile on his face. "Then again we are of fire and air, and everyone knows what happens when you fan a flame. Perhaps it's not only for ourselves that we perfer to live in solitude."
Kashet shrugged again. "But that's entering into philosophy, which I don't doubt you'd find boring." He grinned, a wicked, sharp-toothed grin. "Though ceaseless prattle is just as good at driving others away as a threat, and even better for keeping them away." Which was very turn. If he wanted a moment alone he just had to start talking about the relationship of the sun and sand in the desert compared to animals and plants and Avatre would be gone in a heartbeat, muttering excuses like hunting and looking for water holes.
"I suppose I should do the-" he smiled with a touch of ironic humor, "-social thing and introduce myself. I am Kashet."

"I expect that is accurate with most Daevas but I have met one that does not fall into that suit, but that could because his mother dropped him on his head or some excuse like that." Kyra shrugged her shoulders, then arched an eyebrow as she listened to him talk about philosophy. Damn straight it was boring as hell, and if he continued to prattle on about it she would just leave. She was a vixen where actions spoke louder then words, and philosophy took the back burner to speech. In fact she was thinking that if she ever did take a mate, which was a thought that rarely crossed her mind, she would prefer him to be silent or one that was not prone to idle talking.
Kyra tilted her head to the side as he introduced himself. Now by the laws of social order she was expected to announce her name, but what if she didn't want too?
"Hm. I suppose it would be considered rude if I refused to give you my name...So I'm Kyra."

Kashet grinned, flashing his snowy white and wickedly pointed teeth. "Daevas are expected to be rude, even to each other, so I wouldn't have faulted you for it." He tilted his head, a crooked smile on his face. "Guess I should thank you for your name then, Kyra."
He tilted his head, running his crimson eyes over Kyra's entire body in curiousity. "So you don't like the idle life, seem easily bored, but you don't want constant excitement either. Just what do you what?"

Kyra stood there unmoving as his gaze swept over her. she was used to the blunt stares of men so it wasn't like it surprised her overly much. "Well...." She shrugged her shoulders, "That is for me to know isn't it." She smiled back at him toothily. It wasn't like she was suddenly going to spill her guts to a complete stranger just because he asked her.
"What do you want?" She threw back at him, seeing what response he would give her.

Kashet shrugged in a "well I had to ask" kind of way while Kyra stonewalled him. Or maybe teased was the better word, since she probably would tell him but got more enjoyment dangling the knowledge just out of his reach.
Then she put the question to him, and he actually had to stop to think about it. "Hmmm. I'm not really sure. Guess that means I don't have an answer for you either."

Kyra smirked at him. It appeared the male had a bit of mystery to him, or maybe he only said that because she hadn't responded to his question. "Well it would appear that we are at a stalemate. So what are we to do now?" She cocked her head to the side as she studied him.
"I suppose I could fly off, or I could stay down here. You don't seem the talkative type but I am sure that there is something that we can do down here...together."

Kashet actually chuckled, a deep sound in the back of his throat. "Maybe I'm not, but you said you preferred not to have your ears filled with pointless chatter anyway," he pointed out. Most of the pointless and philosophical rants he threatened to unleash came about when he was on his own, just talking aloud to hear something. He was a lot quieter around others.
"Hmmm. Well down here, either alone or together, the most their is to do is just walk," Kashet said, a tiny teasing smile on his lips. Even at night there wasn't much life in the desert.
