 Quamar sat on a rock looking up at the moon, the glorious moon that brought him such comfort and peace, even while he was still a rambunctious cub. He took a deep breath letting the cool air fill him and calm his nerves, letting all the worries that a cub has leave his body as he breathed out.
Quamar was a happy cub, but he knew even now while he was still so young that he had a deep connection to the Great Lion. That connection can is his biggest burden as it was his most special of gifts. He felt different to a lot of the other cubs, secluded and distant, it was hard for him to make friend outside of his siblings. Looking back up at the Great Lion he prayed silently for a friend, someone that might understand him and make him feel like he wasn’t alone within his own pride.

 Kidogo mwezi moved her leg swiftly as she swept her tail along the earth. She was making her way to her usual spot below the dead tree that lurched under the clear sky. It was here she knew something great would happen one night, but what she did not know. She was just told this by a lion rouge who called them self a seer. She was young and still knew very little about them but they saw things others didn't.
As she arrived she took her spot on the smooth rock that liven in unison with the tree, moss covered part of it. Here she sat down and began to sing. Her voice was a high smooth voice that seemed hauntingly beautiful under the moonlight.
This was one of the few times one could actually hear her voice for it was rare for her to speak. It was this that made her a loner from her pride, she felt only her family understood her. And she did not know what the pride thought of her for she often didn't give them a chance to talk to her.
Yet when she was all alone and the moon so bright she felt the urge to release her voice and sing. The words poured out like a river that seemed to cry in the silent night air.

Quamar was still thinking of his prayer to the Great Lion when he heard the most beautiful and haunting song his young ears had ever heard. He had to know what this wonderful sound came from and got up from where he was sitting and walked towards the sound. Reaching the edge of a hill close to the home dens, he looked down at a clutch of trees in varying states of decay. There under a dead tree was a white female cub singing to what seemed was the night itself. Quamar was shocked by such a gift in a young cub like himself. He sat there listening to her song for a moment enjoying the melody that formed with the breeze and the calls of animals in the wild.
“Did you send me to her Great Lion?” he whispered to the moon as he listened to her finishing her first song, “Is she supposed to be my friend?” He was nervous about talking to her and almost wanted to just sit and listen to her amazing voice from the hill above. She continued to sing as he sat there and he decided that he should go talk to her, or at least get closer so he could listen to her sing better. He made his way down the hill quietly, not wanting to disturb the cub’s singing. When he was within speaking distance he waited for her song to end before come out from behind a tree.
“Hello, I couldn’t help but notice you singing. The Great Lion has given you an amazing gift, your voice is beautiful.” He told her softly, hoping not to startle her.

Kidogo sang away into the night, even trying to hit notes she had never attempted before. She felt a cool breeze rustle her pelt and it felt welcoming to her in the dead of night. She started to wrap up her song ending with a soft repetitive word into the night. She soon ended it as though it were a distant echo. She looked at the moon that shone so brightly, it gave her a sort of energy or so she thought.
She jumped when she heard a voice nearby, she instantly felt nervous. she lowered her crouch a bit and her ears went back in fright. She eased up a little when she realized it was just a cub. His black pelt complemented by his yellow and grey markings. And she could not help but notice the sparkle in his golden eyes.
As he spoke about her signing she felt rather conscious. However that feeling was pushed away when he complemented her voice as being an amazing gift from the great lion. She felt her white cheeks get hot and knew they would probably start glowing a light pink. She loved the way he said beautiful in such a soft voice it made her shy and she shuffled her paw. She looked at him again and opened her mouth however no words formed, she was just to shy. Instead she dipped her head to him kindly and looked shyly back at her feet. It was not often many heard her voice

Quamar looked sheepish as he watched the pretty cub shrink back in fright and it saddened him that he scared her when all he wanted to do was listen to her sing some more. She was very cute, he noticed now that he was standing close to her, she had pretty pale lavender markings and striking red eyes that contrasted her white pelt. Stepping a bit closer to the cub he watched the young lioness shuffle her paws and glance down at the ground, her white pelt revealing a pretty blush.
Without thinking about it he didn't even notice that she didn't speak to him, he face and body language spoke for her and Quamar was able to pick up on it as if second nature.
"You're very welcome. I wasn't complimenting you just because, you truely have a beautiful gift. I hope one day I can find my gift that will be as special as yours." he gave her an easy grin, hoping her guarded posture would relax. He felt that any lion, expecially one this pretty, should be able to relax and enjoy themselves. Happiness was a great reward of The Great Lion after all and how could one not be happy when basking under the brightness of the full moon. He looked up to the brilliant orb hanging in the heavens a look on his facce of serenity and peace before sitting down and glancing back at the cub, the moon light making her glow almost as brightly as the moon itself.

Kidogo looked back up at him as he got closer, however his paws were gentle with each step he took. He could feel his soft gaze admiring her pelt and she too took a shy glance at him, this time more closely. She looked at the way his marking on his back looked like the moon with sun rays bursting from behind it. she liked the way it seemed to surround the moon in this sort of glow. She liked the way his grey tuft of hair was highlighted with a marvelous gold. And there was something about those eyes, she just could not place it.
As he spoke again she felt something like butterflies in her stomach. His words were so kind, in fact some of the kindest she has ever heard. She never thought she was that gifted, yet as he spoke about finding his gift she wished in some way she could help. She felt her shoulders relax and then eventually her whole body, she was comfortable around him. He was kind to her and not to mention rather handsome, she actually wanted to talk to him. She just had to find her voice again and when she did she did hope she would be comfortable enough to speak to him. Yet as he looked up at the full moon he looked so happy, she too glanced up appreciating the Great Lion for it's beautiful light on this clear starry night. She looked back at him and smiled kindly, she took a few steps closer and nudged him kindly.
