She was here. She was actually here.
Attending the open house had only served to confuse the poor Baku. There were tons of things--including some of the students--that had terrified her out of her wits, but at the same time, she also found many things that she liked about Amityville. Among them were the vast variety of clubs, the campus in general, and finally, the students she had met.
Those who she had the pleasure of meeting had all shown kindness towards her. Though they did not speak much, she found Mot to be quite likable, and Kres was very friendly despite Xiu's initial reaction towards her. However, she was admittedly especially fond of the pink-haired demoness who had taken the time to show them around. Now that she was actually enrolled in the school, Xiu wondered if it would be possible to meet up with Lizzy again, if only to thank her for her kindness last time.
Would it be too much of a bother? She did give me her number, the ghoul thought, her fingers brushing over the eye-phone that she had tucked into her obi, And it would be nice to see her again. If she doesn't mind, then maybe...
With most of her stuff already unpacked--she was a fast worker--there wasn't much else for Xiu to do. Hoping that she would manage to catch Lizzy while she was free, she promptly whipped out her phone and dialed the number before she could change her mind. The moment the call went through with a soft click, Xiu spoke in a rushed voice.
"L-lizzy? Um, hi! It's Xiu, from the open house!" Despite being a little nervous, a smile began to spread over her face as she flopped down on her bed, staring up at the ceiling of her new dorm room. "Guess where I am?"

Open house was exciting - thus, the days following open house were boring and passed by ever so slowly. She could feel cobwebs growing on her - no puns intended really - as she laid on her belly, sprawled out on her bed with her phone by her side, laptop open in front of her. She was absentmindedly checking through groanspring - something she only does whenever she's bored - when her phone started to buzz and vibrate.
It was rather rare for her to receive a call; most of the time, her friends would rather send her a text if they needed her. Staring at the screen, her face lit up when she realized that the caller was the adorable ghoul she had met at open house.
"Heyyy!" She smiled, not that Xiu could see, but it was obvious from her tone that she was happy, "Ohh? A guessing game? Give me a hint~"

Her smile growing larger, Xiu pushed herself up into a sitting position, "hmm"ing into the phone. "A hint? Let me see..." she grinned, trying to hold in the excitement that suddenly threatened to burst out, "Well, I've spent the past hour or so unpacking because I've moved into a new place."
Sure, at first the idea of moving out of her home and away from the family had been unnerving, but now that she was actually here? It was actually pretty nice being on her own and having a big room to herself. It wasn't as if she was completely alone either--not with all the other demons who occupied the same dorm as she did. For all she knew, Lizzy's room could have been close by, if not down the same hallway.
She stood up suddenly, running her hands along the walls. Hmmm, it was a nice room, but she would have to do a little tweaking until it could really be considered "home". "Were the walls this bare when you moved in, Lizzy?" she asked into the phone, unknowingly tossing another hint at the other ghoul, "If we're allowed to paint it, I'd like to make it a little more comfy."

It had been a while after the last visit, and Mac decided it was about time to drag force convince the Demoness to go to the pool again. A little while had passed since he took her there last time; surely she would have forgotten all of his hard work by now! Not that she had learned much the first time, she mostly complained the whole way. He was at least convinced she did learn a little tiny bit, which meant he'd need to teach her again if she forgot, and be more consistant in his attempts.
Not unlike teaching a child, he thought bitterly.
He packed his bag to go, dressed in plain black swim trunks and a loose shirt, muddy old sandals on his feet. Whip had decided he wanted to go as well, stubbornly perching on Mac's shoulder and not moving; a lesson he learned hard when he went to pull the bird off, and ended up getting six little claws digging into his skin. Ugh. Fine. Whatever!
With Whip in tow, Mac made his way to the Demon Dorms and headed up to a certain Spider's room, knocking on the door.

Lizzy had pretty much rolled over on her bed to lie on her back instead, phone pressed against her ear. She listened to the first hint, eyes widening a little as she became hopeful. However, when Xiu gave her a second hint regarding where she had moved into...
"YOU GOT IN?" She practically squeaked into the phone as she sat up on her bed, a wide grin on her face, "YAY, CONGRATS XIU! I'M SO HAPPY!" She wanted very much to give the ghoul a hug now. Actually that can probably be arranged, seeing how she lives in the same building as her now! That thought made her grin grow as she hopped off her head, "Xiuuuu, want to come by my room? It's Room 184~"
No sooner did those words leave her lips did she hear a knock on the door, and she jumped in surprise; could that be Xiu? That was fast!
"Ohh, you're speedy!" She giggled into the phone before ending the call, not giving the ghoul time to reply. Placing the phone down on her desk on the way to the door, she then flung it open and threw her arms around whoever was at the door with a happy grin, "Xiuuuuuuuuu-"
... Wait, Xiu's not this wide.
For a moment, she froze, not quite sure how to react. Then, slowly, very slowly, Lizzy looked up to see who it was that she had hugged - please don't let it be some random stranger, because that would be so awkward!
"M-Mac?" She blinked, before breaking into a grin again, leaning her head on his chest happily as she continued the hug, "Hey Mac!" That was her 'I am so relieved it's not a random person' reaction, not that the reaper would know. In fact, she was so relieved that she forgot to ask what he was doing here. Or say hi to Whip. Or the fact that she had sort of invited Xiu over.

The smile had grown into a full out grin at Lizzy's congratulations, and Xiu laughed into the phone, the wall that held in her excitement breaking down. "Yes! I can't believe it--I'm so glad that I got in! I'm looking forward to seeing what the classes are like, and the clubs, and--"
Considering all her blabbing, the ordinarily quiet ghoul must have been very, very happy. She was especially eager to meet up with Lizzy again in person, and the perfect chance came when the other demon invited her over. However, before she could agree to the offer, a sudden click indicted that the call had been ended. Frowning, Xiu held the phone away from her ear and stared at it. Bad connection?
No matter! She had the room number now, and since she had kind of been invited over, there was no harm in paying a visit now! Heading out of her room, she made her way down the hallway, taking special care to pay attention to the room numbers.
"178...179...180!" Only four more rooms!
However, before she could make her way towards her destination, she noticed that a couple stood embracing in the doorway of one of the rooms (or at least, she could see the back of a boil, and slender arms wrapped around him). Blushing at this bit of PDA, she lowered her head and quickly rushed past, not bothering to stop until she was a few paces down from them. Then she looked up at the plate of the door beside her: 188.
Huh? Looks like I passed it. When she turned around to backtrack, her attention was immediately drawn to the couple again. From this new angle, she could see some of the features of the ghoul, such as her pink hair and horns--wait. Waaait a minute.
"...L-lizzy?"
Moving a bit closer, a quick look confirmed that the door the couple stood in front of clearly read "184". Her gaze flickered to the boil next, and she looked him up and down, taking in his, uh, "attire". His very--in her mind--inappropriate attire. And Lizzy hugging him. Cue wide eyes and a very red face.
"Oh my."

Of course. Of course he found himself attacked while at the Demon Dorms. Granted the attack was from a petite ghoul, but it still was an attack! An affectionate one that nearly knocked the wind out of him...and may have forced him to wrap his arms around said attacker, not to hug but to prevent them from doing it again. He hadn't the faintest idea that he was being counter-productive. Xiu? Who the Jack was Xiu?! He wanted to ask, but while he coughed once to get his breath back, she seemed to come to the conclusion that he wasn't who she thought he was.
"Uhhhhhh....Hi." He murmured back, blinking to try and figure out what was going on. Of all things he expected when he answered the door, a hug was NOT one of them. The tiny blush on his face was from surprise, really. Not from the recently-discovered ghoul snuggling her head against his chest. No, not at all. The smaller demon that walked past them wasn't even seen by the Reaper.
"...Who is Xiu?" Clearly his throat, he started to unwrap his arms from around her...a process that was sped up to a near shove when he heard the stanger's scandalized voice. That blush was back; also from surprise. Instantly his guard was up and his black eyes narrowed, hackles more or less raised.
"What do you want?" He demanded flatly, beginning to sound very irritated. All the while Whip, whom had managed to stay on the Reaper's shoulder, was chirping away excitedly, mostly at Lizzy. By the time they were interrupted the bird was just staring at the stranger through the slitted eyes it tended to have as it nested.

"Mac!" She repeated happily, blissfully unaware of the fact that he was actually trying sort of stop her from glomping him a second time... Before realizing what it was that she was doing - aka hugging a boil she can't call 'Puppy' anymore. Her face reddened instantly, and she found herself loosening her hold around him as she stared up at him, wide-eyed.
"I-I'm sorry! Um... Xiu is-" Now that she was no longer in a state of 'YAY I DID NOT JUST RANDOMLY HUG A STRANGER', she had started to blush, shuffling her feet, looking rather upset at being, in her mind, scolded by Mac. Her eyes wandered from Mac's grumpy face, to the excited Whip before quickly realizing that there was someone else there with them. Specifically, a very familiar 'someone else'.
"XIU!" Mac's question was answered, but indirectly, as Lizzy went ahead and hugged the ghoul who had been staring at them. After the hug, she linked arms with the ghoul before smiling, still blushing a little as she looked at the reaper, "This is Xiu! She recently enrolled!"
Pausing, she giggled, tugging Xiu forward towards him as she reached out for the bird nested on Mac's shoulder, eager to forget about the 'incident' as quickly as possible. Using a finger, she stroked Whip on it's head with a giggle, "Heyyyy Whip. It's been a while~"

It looked like the boil had noticed her first, and he didn't seem too happy about her presence either. Of course he isn't, she scolded herself, I just ruined their intimate moment! Even his little bird seemed to be glaring at her! Frowning, she shrunk back and held up her hands, ready to apologize.
Before the words could leave her lips, she was suddenly hugged by the other demon. The frown immediately made way for a smile when she hugged her back, beaming at the other ghoul. "Hi, Lizzy!" Then, when she was introduced to the boil, Xiu gave a polite--if not slightly nervous--bob of her head, sliding a little closer to Lizzy. "U-um...nice to meet you."
She watched Lizzy greet the little bird, and leaned forward a little so that she could take a better look at the creature. She didn't reach out to pet it, but instead glanced upwards at the reaper, suddenly feeling a little ashamed when she noticed his expression.
"Ah, um," What was the best way of doing this? Probably just saying it outright worked.
"I'm sorry to have interrupted you two. If you'd like, I can come back later."

Ah, so this is 'Xiu'. Got it. Black eyes glared down at the new Demoness, his entire body tense. "Good for her." He grumbled, nothing about his voice seeming welcoming or congratulatory...which was probably because it wasn't. Finally his gaze moved from Demoness to Demoness, and he started to feel a little more than out numbered. He had gotten very good at ignoring the chittering Whip, but it was hard to ignore the bird when it's wings decided to smack him with eager flapping.
He could, however, ignore the flapping when something like that was said to him. Interrupt? There was nothing happening to interrupt, except...
"I'm only here to take her swimming." He snorted, placing his hands into his pockets. "I think she was expecting you." Which meant he made this trip for nothing, jackdamnit.

"This is Mac," She gestured at the boil before stroking the bird perched on his shoulder again, giggling at how excited it was, "And this here is Whip!" Since the reaper didn't look like he was going to introduce himself, she thought that she might as well do it for him. Silly Mac.
She then blinked at Xiu at her comment, obviously baffled as to what she might had 'interrupted'. Shrugging it off, she smiled, holding the ghoul a little closer before patting her on her head, "You weren't interrupting anything!"
Looking back at Mac, her eyes widened, "Oh! So that's why you came! Swimming!" She tilted her head, staring at him for a moment; that would explain his attire! Looking thoughtful, she glanced at Xiu, and then back at Mac, "Well... If you're up for it, we could all go together? It's been a while since you took me anyway!" She nodded rather excitedly; oddly, she didn't feel quite as against the idea of swimming as before.

"Mac and Whip," Xiu echoed, nodding firmly and trying to commit the names to memory, "Got it." She wasn't sure whether the boil's cold attitude was due to--what she still firmly believed despite Lizzy's words--her interruption of his private time with Lizzy, or if...he was just like that. But surely nobody could be that grumpy for no reason.
Swimming? She was taken aback by the idea, her eyes darting from Lizzy, to Mac, and then back. "Would it really be okay for me to join you...?" She asked doubtfully, rubbing the back of her head, "I mean, I don't mind if it's really fine for you two." Xiu added, unaware that she was misinterpreting their relationship. She would have rejected the offer so that the "couple" could have some alone time together, but in all honesty, she wanted to hang out with Lizzy.
And swimming? Swimming was fun. She just wasn't very good at it. Oh, she could swim across a pool and keep herself afloat, but she just couldn't do so without clumsy flailing and occasionally splashing the people around her.

Mac's lips were pressed into a thin line, but he at least offered a little wave to the petite ghoul. The bird whirped at it's name, though as always the chirp sounded more like it was calling it's specie name; 'Whip-poor-will'.
"I guess." He conceeded. As long as he got to teach her how to swim and this new Demon didn't get in his way, at least. "If you don't know how to swim, you're out of luck." He wasn't teaching both of them, after all! Frowning at the pair, he looked over his shoulder at the way he came - thankfully it wasn't blocked by the baku - and finally back at the ghouls. More specifically Lizzy.
"Get ready, I'll meet you at the pool." Mac moved to walk backwards towards his own exit, not daring to turn his back on a Demon he didn't know, even if she was masquerading as a kind looking ghoul. Once he felt he was far enough away he did turn and headed downstairs, going to make the trip to the pool by himself. It was a leap of faith for Lizzy; but with a friend in tow it was unlikely she'd bail on him.

"Okay~" It was obvious that she was really happy to be able to get into the pool with someone other than just Mac; besides, Xiu is new to the school, so introducing her to the pool will mean introducing her to the gym as well! Two birds with one stone! Besides, Mac never allowed her to have any fun at all, grumpy meanie face and all.
Maybe after he dumps her at the pool after the lesson, she could play in the water with Xiu. That would be nice for a change...
"Go put on your bathing suit," She instructed Xiu with a smile, giving the ghoul an affectionate pat on her head. Although the mention of 'bathing suit' made her remember that she had forgotten to buy a new, more comfortable one since she didn't really expect another swimming lesson this soon, even if some time had already passed since her last lesson. Uh... Oh well.
"Maybe wear a shirt over... Oh! Remember to bring a towel as well! Maybe tie up your hair too; wouldn't want to see it ruined!" She wasn't sure if she had forgotten anything else, but it didn't sound like she did, "I'll meet you at the entrance to the dorms. Just come down when you're done~ Wouldn't want to make Mac wait too long or he'll get... Grumpier. So hurry!"

Xiu simply stood and blinked blankly when Mac began to back away slowly. The moment he was out of sight, she leaned towards Lizzy and lowered her voice, "...What was that about?" He seemed as if he had been suspicious of something, but a quick look around determined that the only ones standing in the hallway were Lizzy and herself. How strange!
"Okay! It's a good thing I remembered to pack a swimsuit!" Tail waving, she listened to Lizzy's advice and nodded at each point, the smile never leaving her face. Finally, at the mention of the already extremely grumpy reaper becoming even more so if she dared to be late, Xiu threw her arms around the other ghoul in a hug and then making a dash for her room. "See you in a bit!" she called over her shoulder.
The moment she made it to her room, Xiu dug out her swimsuit--a simple, dark red one with a skirt--and proceeded to change in a hurry. Once that was on, she tossed an oversized shirt over it, unaware that in her haste, she had put it on both inside out as well as backwards. By the time she left her room, she had broken into a dash, a towel dangling from her shoulder and her long hair twisted into a loose bun.
She slowed to a stop when she made it to the entrance. "I got here as fast as I could!"
