Kennedy was sitting in the common room flipping cards quickly into a pile. He paused. "The count is 16..." He pawed through the deck and growled. "17..." He sighed....one mistake could lose him lots of money.... and so he couldn't help get money for anything.... He scooped up the cards again shuffled and repeated the process. "15...the count is 15..." He smiled fishing through to find he was correct this time. Sighing he started picking up the cards to start again.

Rowan walked into the common room watching some boys play cards. Rowan was amazed at how easy the boy made the game look. He had seen him around but never really talked to him. Since Violet was barely around since she got her new boyfriend he decided now was a good time to make new friends.
He walked up to the boy. "So what is this you guys are playing?"

Kennedy jumped slightly. he dropped a few cards and mumbled a curse under his breath. "Oh...its nothing... just a solo game my mom taught me." He had lost the count... OK so he now knew he needed more practice with distractions. "Here want some candy?" Boy he sounded like a creeper. He reached around and grabbed a sac full of candy. "My best friend's family owns a candy shop... i swear it isn't poisoned..."
Kennedy didn't like candy... and as such... tended to sell it... but hey... if he could get this boy to hang about... maybe he could use him as a distraction... first to start a conversation. "My name is Kennedy.... However...most people call me Kenny." He grinned and shuffled the cards.... "Wanna play go fish? Or poker?"

The boy named Kenny offered him some candy and he took it. He hoped it was not some strange type of candy. He himself had a ton of candy that could turn you into a frog or other animal. All of that was thanks to Violet.
Rowan reached out his hand. "I am Rowan. I have not ever played the "go fish" or "poker". How do you play?"

Kenny shook his hand and then thought about the purple wrapped candy.... He usually kept those separate to use in truth or dare matches with Serge... He opened his mouth to warn the boy then shut it... there were only one or two in there... if he had bad enough luck to get one... then maybe it would be funny.
The candies tended to turn a person's face purple... and have no way of getting it to come off. He had to admit... the taste was amazing though.
"Go fish is pretty simple... its a muggle card game... Here..." He dealt them each seven cards...."Now you look at your cards... " He pulled out two matches. "Find the matches... and lay them out in front of you... then you ask the other person if they have a certain number card... like i would ask... so you have any aces? Then if you do... you give me the card.... and if you don't... then i.... go fish." He indicated the deck of cards. "Pretty simple..."

Rowan sat down to play cards. "Ok let's try this out." He looked down and saw the purple wrappers. This boy tried to pull a number on him!
"Hey I know what these are! What are you up to?!" Rowan asked while pulling out the wrapped candy

Kenny looked up and laughed. Guess this boy's luck was as good as golden. "Sorry... there are only two 'prank' candies.... I swear on my great grandmothers grave...." He glanced at his cars he had three left a 4 a jack and a queen. "Do you have any queens?"
He glanced into the bag and pulled out a chocolate frog... "Here... this should be good." He picked out the two purples. "These are as practical jokes go... between me and Serge. I just store them with the others."

Rowan was not sure of this boy and put the candy down. He took the chocolate frog from the boy though and stuffed it in his pocket. There was no way he was going to eat that. He made a mental note to destroy it before Violet got her hands on it.
"So let's play this 'goalfish'" Rowan went to hand out the cards but then realized he did not know how to hand them.

Kenny raised an eyebrow... "Dude... if you aren't gonna eat it.... at least give it back... i make my living off of these candies..." He rolled his eyes. "And its Go Fish...." He snatched the deck. "Each person starts with seven cards... .the rest go in the middle."
