So Congressmen Weiner is in trouble for posting lewd photos of himself and having "internet relationships" with 6 women who are not his wife...and lied about it for 10 days as well. He publicly apologized...shed some tears...
To me, it looked like he was very sorry he was caught. Not so much the honest grief of someone who wronged his wife and those who trusted in him, but the unhappiness that comes from being in trouble, when you're about to get a spanking. Regardless, it was far better of him to admit he was wrong, rather than pull the Clinton and claim nothing happened.
Should he finish his term in office? Should he be forgiven, or should he resign?

Julien Assange, Weiner, Bill Clinton, all did some things that the higher ups (******** lobbyist corporate owned trash) who sign their checks didn't like, support the people and bring about hidden truths to the public eye. All of them have sexual offender charges filed against them. Dunno.
But if Weiner really did do it, I don't care. He's still a human, what he does in his private life is his business.

If it were up to you, you'd turn a blind eye to his internet shenanigans and allow his pregnant wife to be insulted in this way?

If it were up to you, you'd turn a blind eye to his internet shenanigans and allow his pregnant wife to be insulted in this way? I would not turn a blind eye, I would want him punished, but I know he had proposed some things, that for once, both parties kinda liked. It isn't right that even though he did this terrible thing, the really good things he proposed be thrown away because even though they looked and and sounded to political professionals, he did some bad thing. That's like saying if a man who murdered someone and gets sent to life in jail, but uses the free jail time education (this goes up to doctorate level stuff, by the way) to produce a tested and safe cure to every form of cancer, we can't use his cure because he murdered someone, so his cure is now just as terrible as him. No matter how bad or good someone's actions are in one field, does not mean that they should be allowed to influence someone's actions of the opposite spectrum in another field, or vice versa.

Nothing has been said about the good he did in office. They're not going to revoke his votes. Don't worry.
Also, high-profile leaders --- politicians, presidents, pastors, and such -- honestly, they are a dime a dozen. More will pop up. You can't get rid of them.
Now, good ones, really good ones, ones that won't cheat on their spouses or eff up the economy, they get hatchet jobs done on them too. Bob Dole, Robert Bork, Dan Quayle who good-naturedly went along with a misspelling of "potato" so as not to embarrass the elementary school officials...they were forced out too, but more will appear. Good, as much as evil, can't be totally blocked.
BTW, I don't know if I ever said, but your sig gif is unsettling. Is it trying to say that the atheist is really a big girl?

No, actually the girl is Emily Watson(Hermoine of the Harry Potter movies), and Richard Dawkins is the second image. It phases back and forth between the two people, but the majority of the facial structure doesn't change. It's pointing out that they look exactly alike.
