First Post - Ahoy!~

A silver flash. A red splash. A nametag glinted in the artificial light. Dr Erie.
A scalpel was lowered onto an already maimed corpse, sending another crimson waterwall to
the floor. "Suction," ordered a gruff voice. The distgusting gurgle and slurp sent the nurse
to the bathroom, her hand clutching at her abdomen. "You can never trust the help these
days can you?" Dr Erie asked.
"Please...please...." coughed a woman.
"Oh shush shush shush, we have only been here for a few minutes," murmered the man, his eyes
trailing from the chest cavity of the woman to her gaunt face. Her tear stained cheeks were
white and sunken with pain, her yellow eyes dull and wet.
"But...your hurting...me..." she pleaded.
"Now now, you know this serum keeps you alive. You won't die. Now hush, I need you to keep
still," Dr Erie's voice was soft, yet dark. He lowered the scalpel again, this time slicing
through the diaphram and the flesh around it.
"Interesting...even though you are the same as Mystique, your innards are so different.
Perhaps it coincides with your difference in skin colour, my emerald maiden," he cooed,
placing the scalpel aside. Dr Erie checked the monitors, the serum was still allowing him
another 15 minutes of exploring before it's effects would wear off and she would bleed out.
"Very well, we need to move on then don't we?" he stated, to himself mainly.
The middle aged blonde male picked up a device that looked similar to a clamp, yet worked in
the opposite way. It pushed things apart.

The doctor made an incision along the shifter's thigh, opening it to see her muscles, bones
and tendonds. "Now, let's see how you have that extra speed the other shifters don't, shall
we?" he asked, before sliding the instrument in place. He then started turning the crank,
endulging in the sweet sound of tearing flesh. The woman moaned softly, the serum paralysing
her vocal chords now. Yet, allowing her pain receptors to work as normal.
"Intriguing...your muscles have many more attachments to the bone, as well as being larger
and in greater number. Now, why would only you have that?" he wondered, just as a red light
started to flash on the machine next to the woman's head.
"Oh...oh dear. Well...we are out of time....That is a shame...I will never be able to watch
your digestive system now will I, at least, not whilst you are dead..."
The woman's eyes widened with fear, as the man removed his gloves, and watched the clock.
"5...4...3...2...1...Time's up..." he sighed, and pushed the door open.
Behind him, the woman's vessels had opened, her vocal chords released. Blood exploded from
her mangled body, covering the best part of the room and machinery. She screamed for a mere
two seconds before the numerous wounds and incisions and exploratory tunnels Dr Erie had
made were allowed to act as they should and the woman finally died after hours of extreme
pain and suffering in silence.
"Clean up lab 3!" Dr Erie called, "And find my next patient..."

Hydra awoke on her first day in captivity. She found herself in a large room, with double reinforced windows, and walls made of a transparent material that Hydra couldn't quite place - it was solid, and seemed thick. Hydra moved her gaze to the door, checking it out. It was metal, and had a sliding opening in the middle, probably for food and things - it looked like it had been stolen from a prison. Hydra spied a gap at the base of the door, and was intent on exploiting this, but as she let her body cascade into water, she felt herself begin to dehydrate instantly.

The girl immediately switched back, looking around the room. In the ceiling, rows upon rows of heat giving light bulbs heated the room to near death levels of dehydration, and Hydra instantly thirsted for a drink. Sighing with a slight grumble, she walked back to her bed, and as she sat down, yelped at the blood curdling scream and splash that echoed from the darkest building of the camp. She clamped her hands over her finned ears, which had folded back, and drew her knees up to her chest, her bare feet gripping the edge of the bed.

From where she was stood, Penny (she silently refused to think of herself as Reptilia, even if that was what everyone else called her) was able to look out of the window into the main yard of the camp, watching as the other mutants milled around in a large group. Despite the size of the yard, they were still bunched together quite tightly, often bumping into each other & tripping over each other. Various security features could be seen around the camp; guards wearing helmets to protect them from telepathy, snipers were posted at various spots, some mutants wore special suits or shackles etc. The lizard-like mutant continued to stare out of the window with an look of almost longing on her face; she was never allowed to interact with the other mutants for more than a few minutes, even though she knew she was likely to hurt them if she did - the men here had explained that the spikes she fired off, often accidently, were lethal to most - she still wished she could talk to someone sometimes... it was so lonely in here.

Penny's room was nothing special. Bare. Standard walls & windows. The guards here knew that she wasn't going to do anything, being told that she was a potential hazard to the other mutants had made her rather... obedient. She didn't leave the room unless told to & never used her powers against anyone, even though she could. Being so shy, she wasn't too upset that she had to stay on her own for most of the day, but still... if she could have just one person to talk to... Finally tearing her gaze away from the window Penny sat down on her bed & reached into a small cavity she'd made in the floor, taking out a small wooden cat.

Fritz lay on the floor, his hands cushioning his head, staring the bare ceiling of his room. He thought about the name the humans had given him, Biest. Or Beast in English. It wasn't bad, it could have been worse at least whoever gave him the name knew at least a little German and didn't mess up with the translation. The young man sighed and flicked his odd eyes over to the medium sized, sealed window. He hated looking out of it, it reminded him that he could never go outside because even with all of the precautions taken his abilty would allow him to find some way out.

The room was bare. Everything in the room had been reinforced. The door, window, walls, ceiling even the floor was to strong for him to break no matter what form he took. The window was only the size that it was because the humans enjoyed taunting him with what lay beyond. The open blue skies he loved so much, the rippling waves, long green grass... Never again would he be able to feel the air rush over his feathers and through his fur, the wind under his wings, the sun on his back, the water on his scales or the dirt beneath his paws it seemed.

With another sigh, Frederick rolled onto his stomach and hauled himself onto his hands and knees where he then transformed into a black German Shepherd. He padded over to the furthest corner from the window and curled up, facing the wall.

Mark sat in the middle of his room, growling to himself. The room was bare except for a bed which was currently upside-down in the corner where it had been flung. Mark wanted, like practically all of his fellow mutants, to be free of this stinking hellhole, but these bastards had done something to him while he had been unconscious. They limited his control of his powers. He didn't even know what day it was, not that he really cared all that much but it was something he should know, right?

Mark swore loudly and flung the bed across the room again. One of the guards came over and banged on the reinforced door.

"Oi! Shut up in there!"
Mark threw the bed at the door in response.
He heard the guard swear.

"If ya don't shut it, I come in there and shut you up myself."
"No you ********' won't, you dumbass. Polly 'ere's already killed a guy who tried to stop him from flinging that ********' bed around."
"STOP. CALLING. ME. POLLY!"
At each word Mark smashed the bed into the door, 'causing to to become twisted and out of shape.

Hydra, after a while, dropped her legs and padded over to the window, where she could see the lab building, and the room of another mutant. She rapped on the window lightly, wondering if they would hear her, and if they did, who it was. She waited patiently, but to no avail.

It wasn't long, before the red light above her door flashed, and she heard the bolts slide. It would be the same for anyone who was allowed outside time. Hydra was, simply because the heat of the environment limited her somewhat. She rushed to the door, her hands clasped in front of her. Eventually, the door was pulled open, and the girl emerged into the extremely bright sunlight. She watched more feeble mutants being let out, ones with not-so good powers. She figured that the impressive ones were either too high and mighty for this, or were under lock and key.

Hydra wandered over to the benches, and perched on the edge. Her toes curled in the dust, and she actually liked the feel, better than hard floor. She tilted her head back, letting her long white hair that was streaked with dark teal, magenta and slate grey ripple from her shoulders down her back, curling into a pile on the table. Her bright eyes took in the yard - it was high walled, with barbed wire fence around the top. The ground was hard, and under the fences were ten feet deep underground security fences, so no-one could dig their way out. There was no supply of energy, no water, no fire. It was dull...but it was better than being cooped up at least.

Guards began to patrol the edge, keeping their eyes on the captives. One of them stopped next to a comrade, and murmured something into his ear, to which the pair looked over at Hydra and laughed. Hydra's elegant face frowned as she strode over, her long hair now cascading around her, and prodded the instigator in the chest.

"Back off inmate!

"How's about you back off? Where do you get off laughing at a poor girl, taking up some of the outside air? Hmm? ... lay off..."

Hydra grumbled and walked back to the bench. She reminisced about a time where men fell to their knees around her, a time where she could hide the turquoise skin and fins...unfortunately, since she first activated her water form, she was never able to fully surpress it again.

A faint smile crept onto Penny's face as she looked down at the little wooden cat in her hand, it's whiskered face looking up at her with large eyes & a mouth open in mid-meow. She could never get hold of enough wood to make anything that big, but, when she came across discarded pieces she always felt the drive to make them into... something. Without warning, there was a banging on Penny's door & she practically leapt out of her skin, rapidly hiding the cat back under the floor as a few of her spikes fired off by accident. Just before the door opened she stood up, curling her tail round her feet & looking at the guards as they opened the door with wide eyes.
Come on scales, haven't got all day & for gods sake don't tell me you let of more of those god damn spikes?!"
She flinched ever so slightly as the gruffness of the man's voice, rubbing her arm nervously.

As she walked towards the open door, Penny kept her tail curled neatly round herself, knowing that the guards liked to stamp on it if it got in the way. The lizard-girl kept her gaze down as she went past the guards & outside, immediately heading for the least crowded corner. She was very conscious of her spikes as she moved past other mutants, trying as best as she could not to jab anyone. It was only once she was on her own again that she looked up, spotting the peculiar looks she got from other people. Her inherent shyness - coupled with her looks & the obviously dangerous spikes all over her body - tended to make others wary of her.

Fritz flattened his ears to his head as the guards began banging on his door, laughing and taunting him with the outside world. Eventually they stopped, they did have things to do after all. Frederick sighed internally and heaved himself to his paws. He looked around the bare room before heading over to the window and switching back to his human form, it wouldn't hurt to admire the day and just let his imagination run wild. Would it?

The shape shifter kneeled on the hard floor and rested his arms on the small window sill, placing his chin on his arms and looked outside at where the other mutants were gathered. He watched for a moment before lifting his right hand in front of his face. Fritz studied it for before watching his nails grow into the claws of a big cat, he was getting better at partial transformation without all of the emotional strain but so far he could only transform small things, such as his nails. He placed the claw of his index finger onto the window and drew it down. Not even a tiny scratch was made. He pressed harder but only succeeded in producing a horrible sreeching sound. Flinching he pulled his hand away, retuning his nails to those of a human and then resting his plam against the glass.

Once Mark had calmed down he lay down on the cold hard floor and stared at the ceiling. The guards here were complete assholes but Mark had noted that they hadn't dared try to come into his room for a while now. Which meant no injection. Not after he killed that guy last time for calling him Polly. Mark grinned. Without the injection his powers would soon fully return to him, then he'd show this facility that they messed with the wrong mutant. Standing up, Mark walked to the door and leaned against it, closing his eyes. He used his telepathy to reach out to the mind of the guard in front of his door, browsing through the man's memories and thoughts. Seems like the man had strong feelings for one of the female mutants, but was afraid to show it. Mark chuckled softly to himself and implanted a thought into the man's mind.
'Let Mark out.'
Sure enough the guard opened up the reinforced door.

"Come on. I suppose you need a breath of fresh air every once in a while."
Mark smirked, that hadn't worked before. His powers must be returning.

Hydra lifted her head as she noted that a few other inmates were being let out. These were the higher security ones - the girl with the spikes and bone like scales, the telepathic guy and a few other ones that looked slightly more murderous. Hydra didn't think that the male who possessed telepathy was allowed out, and was surprised to him. The long haired maiden felt bad for the lonesome female with the tail, and, as she idly tried to let her fingers melt into water, she pondered as to whether or not she should go over.

When Hydra realised that all she could do was form a single water droplet, she sighed and pushed herself to her feet. In a few short moments, she was beside the girl - not behind her - a small smile on her lips.

"Hello....I thought you might like some company..." she mused gently, slowly sitting on the floor near her.

At the sound of someone's voice, Penny visibly jumped, turning quickly to face whoever it was that was talking to her while one of her spikes accidently fired off again, luckily it didn't hit anyone. At the sight of one of the other mutants, she quickly looked down at her claws & scaled feet, rubbing one of her arms lightly with one hand. She didn't talk for quite a while, but made small sounds while curling her tail more tightly round her legs - luckily her own spikes didn't hurt her, since her scales provided a fair amount of protection. When she did speak, her voice was barely audible,
"H-Hello... Ummm... so y-you aren't afraid of me?"
The girl was constantly unsure of herself & the fact that another person was talking to her made her feel a bit uneasy, she had never been good with new people.

She was also very aware of how firing off one of her spikes (even if it had been an accident) was not going to bode well with the guards. More than once before she'd been punished for using her powers when she was spooked or embarrassed, even though she never did it on purpose.

"No...i'm actually not. I'm Hydra," she explained. She was inwardly bewildered as to why she wasn't scared of someone who could kill her with a single mistake. It wouldn't matter if she could use her water form, since anything just slid through it, but, she couldn't. Maybe she was just taking it for granted or something. Hydra glanced around, noting that a few guards were pointing and talking into their wireless communication devices...or...in normal words, walkie-talkies.

Hydra's fins flattened all over her body, including the ones on her ankles. She had no idea what this girl was capable of, or what her past was, but she didn't want her judged for having shyness. Hydra relaxed for now, but she was ready to spring if anything should happen. Pushing a strand of her long hair behind her ear - a teal one rather than a dark blue or magenta or white one.
"Ah...don't worry about them, I know how to handle them. Hey sweetheart, do you have a name?"she asked, the young female turning very motherly on the shy girl.

Fritz brought his forehead to rest on the sun-warmed glass, his eyes closed, and enjoyed the warmth as it was probably the closest he'd get to the real thing in, well, ever. A sigh escaped him and he lifted his head away from the window and gazed out once more at the other mutants outside.
He lifted his mismatched eyes to the sky and watched the clouds swirl and change shape, slowly moving across the vast expanse of blue. The young German fisted the hand that he still had pressed to the window and began to knock a tune on the glass out of boredom.

Another sigh left Frederick's lips and he wondered if he shouldn't just turn into a dog again and sleep for a while. Or chasing his tail might pass the time well and give him some exercise. Hell, just randomly changing forms would be more fun then just sitting here. He wished a guard would come so he could try and scare them, like that one that's terrified of black cats.

Mark shielded his eyes from the sun as he stepped out of his room. He noted some guards whispering and looking concerned, but he decided to play nice for now and just enjoy the sun. He followed his new friend to the outside area, glancing at the others that were gathered there. He noted the new resident of the camp, a young blue-skinned woman with fins and multi-coloured hair.
" 'scuse me, but who's the new kid?"
The guard looked back at him, a confused expression on his face.

"What? Oh...her? That's Hydra. She was transferred here yesterday."
Mark smiled. Maybe this guy wasn't so bad after all. As Mark walked into the outside area he went and sat down on one of the benches and closed his eyes.

The faintest hint of a smile crept onto Penny's features as the other person introduced herself & she lifted her gaze to respond to the one she now knew as Hydra.
"I'm... well the guards & researchers call me Reptilia... but that's not my name... my name is Penny, I refuse to take that other name!"
For a second she looked defiant, then sank back into her insecurity - if she could blush she would be scarlet. Now that she thought about it, Penny had never seen this particular woman around the camp before & she spent a lot of time staring wistfully at the other mutants, wishing she could interact with them more easily. She shuffled her feet nervously, wondering what else to say to Hydra; her social skills were... lacking to say the least, so she had no idea how to make light conversation with someone. Plus, she was very wary of the guards around them & didn't want to get the woman in trouble for being around her.

The sound of his door opening caused Fritz to turn his head and watch as a guard he didn't know stuck his head in, probably to make sure he wasn't in the form of a dangerous animal, then stepped inside closing the door behind him.
"You're in luck today, Biest. You're being let outside."
Frederick internally winced at the poor pronunciation of his German 'name' but then brightened up at the fact he was being let out only to become suspicious, they wouldn't let him out without taking precautions to stop him from transforming and escaping. He kept his eyes trained on the guard as he reached into a small case he had brought with him and recoiled when a needle was taken out.
"Don't be like that, freak. This is just a sedative to keep you from escaping."
Fritz weighed his options; either go outside and enjoy the fresh air whilst being a little out of it for a while or stay cooped up inside and not drugged up. He sighed and pulled his sleeve up and offered his arm to the guard who stuck the needle into the crook of his arm none to gently. The guard then grabbed him by the arm and pulled him to his feet as the drug started to take effect. He was taken outside and dumped on a bench, a silly smile on his face as he felt the sun on his skin.
