Chiv did not often call the entire pack together at once, she tended to prefer the more individual approach so that she might gauge everyones opinion and reactions separately. But once in a while she found herself with more to say then she felt like repeating over and over again to everyone in the pack...and she was more tired lately to boot thanks to the upcoming puppies...which was something else she had to tell the others.
She had made sure to brief her children and Merrill before hand of course - it would be inappropriate to tell them for the first time in public. Now however the rest of the pack had been gathered and all were looking at her expectantly.
"I know I don't always call you together like this, but I thank you for coming" She started out, letting her eyes sweep the mass of wolves - YMCA was getting larger. "I have several things to share with you all - I'll start with the most important, as your all aware we've been operating with only one leader or quite a while now...since Mene left, and while that was fine for a time our numbers are growing and leading alone has been getting harder...so I've asked Galahad to join me as second Alpha, he's accepted and I hope you will all accept him and respect him as you do me....and along that vein I'd also like to announce that we are expecting puppies, we've grown fond of one another since the winter hunt and we've decided to become official mates as well as co-leaders.
Now on to other business - YMCA will be working to expand boarders in the coming months as well as send out advocates to nearby packs so that we might establish a larger group of Allies and friends. If anyone would like to volunteer for this job please feel free to come and tell me at your leisure..but that about does it..you may all go back to your lives now" She finished up cheerfully and with a wag of her tail to everyone gathered. OOC - All wolves in the YMCA were present for the announcement, even if you don't post in this thread you are free to speak about the things discussed here, however please feel free to post your wolves individual thoughts or interact with each other in here if you'd like =-)

Balios could hardly contain his excitement.
First, more cousins! Or...uncles? But how can your aunts and uncles be younger than you? that was ridiculous. At any rate, his family was getting bigger, and that was very exciting.
Second, and even better, the borders were expanding and the pack was searching for allies? His tail thumped at the mention, kicking up a trail of dust. He was sure to volunteer for THAT job! It was pretty much a dream come true actually, and what better way for him to earn a good rank in the pack.
He decided to linger around so he could ask his grandmother about it right away.

Galahad stood tall and proud beside Chivosi as she informed the pack of latest news, news that directly involved him. There was a moment where he felt nervous with all those eyes on him, but he pushed that feeling aside, he was Alpha and while nerves could still effect him now was certainly not the time. A smile grew across him maw as he looked upon the pack, thinking on how one day his pups would stand amongst those members. A lovely thought indeed.
He stepped forward a bit, giving Chiv a nuzzle as they stood there. At her side, there was eternal happiness for him. His eyes settled upon Balios, the young adult looked eager, as always, perhaps he would volunteer for a job. He certainly hoped so, young eager wolves should be allowed to take such opportunities while the allure of travel and seeing the world still held it's grasp upon their heart.
Aleu couldn't help but wag her tail happily at the news her mother spoke of. Of course she had known what the announcement was, but hearing it again made her happy all over again. More siblings, and surely nothing would happen to them like what happened to her littermates. No, Galahad was better than that. Aleu had no doubts about it. Aleu looked towards her own children, they were growing well, nice strong teens who would soon be adults. Perhaps this expansion of the borders and searching for new allies would present her with an opportunity. Before winter she had traveled to a strange glowing tree, met an Omnus and had been set upon a certain path to gain knowledge to unlock powers that were to be granted to her, powers of a Shaman.
That journey had been delayed due to her pregnancy and subsequent raising of her pups. But now they were old enough that she could leave for long periods. Oh it would pain her to be away from Verse, but it was something she had to do, not just for herself, but the pack as well. So she remained where she was, waiting to see and hear the others reactions, then she would speak to her mother about taking a short leave to explore what was out there and gain the knowledge she needed to complete her quest.
